PM me a reasonable price for a 4 -5 set of functional miners with no dead dies.  Market condition considered

If that was the path taken initially there would be a few buyers by now, myself included..

Agree 100%

I also would have been a buyer had the pricing been reasonable.
462  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [ALL SOLD] 1100w Platinum (94%) server PSUs/breakout boards w/cables on: January 15, 2016, 10:08:16 PM
quakefiend420 i've done silly things and burnt the cables breakout board side, so i need to cut them (the burnt/oxidized cable part) and recrimp because the burnt/oxidized part is heating up to 54c now~ so not critical but need to be changed asap.

Do you know exactly what gauge of o ring i would need to buy online to recrimp them? Thanks.

I actually have some of the same terminals that I could send you, how many do you need?

Its two per cable and i got most of the one you sent me damaged (total of 12), so quite a bit. I was hoping to buy some cheap bulk online.

 Shocked

What did you do to them??? How were they damaged?

I've used jury rigged cables for a while because i'm lazy. I redid a crimp only using plyers and a hammer and a flathead screwdriver, before i got the tool to do proper crimp. And since they were working well, i just forgot about it.

But eventually it loosened and slowly got hotter and i only noticed when the yellow wires started darkening. So now i'm getting a set of o ring terminal to do the job right once and for all, at the lost of a couple of inch of wiring.

Really? Damn. They must've been pretty loose for that to happen? Like "i can pull these wires out if I pull on them" type of loose? I assume there was no damage to the breakout board's lugs?

Bump

Glad to see you've put some price up. I've made good progress now clearing out older gen miners, and the two server 1100w PSU's are planned to getting offlined early next week, so shipping them strait out is an option now.

Instead of the 1300w G2 and the 750w Seasonic, how about you send me the EVGA 1600W Titanium Power Supply for the 2 PSU + 100 USD? Assuming you are still interested in them even though you bought a bunch from Quakefiend, that is.

That would probably work for me but 100 USD is a little low. Yeah, I'd still be interested. What happened to them though tough, in regards to your melted PCI-e cables?

Edit: NM, just read your post in the other thread.

Am I able to overclock my S7 B4. Ive been running it on stock frequency on a 120v plug with a EVGA 120-G2-1300-XR 80 PLUS GOLD 1300 W PSU. I just want to tweak it up a little bit. Is it smart to try this or no since i dont have access to 240v

Yes you can. Try running 593 or 600. If hashrate increases as expected, keep pushing. Plenty of room left in that 1300w EVGA.
466  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: 6 Cube Neptune - 3.8-4.5Th on CKpool Looking for a Price Check. on: January 15, 2016, 03:39:27 PM
This is a weird request, but can you sell me just one cube? I have a 4 cube Neptune that is missing their 5'th brother.

I'd take 2 or 3 fully working cubes. Could probably work out combined shipping with allinvain if he's interested since we're both in the Montreal area. (I think?)

That would be perfect. Yes, I am also in the Montreal area.

Great! So, bgibso01, you can consider 4 cubes as sold between allinvain and I, and seems like the remaining 2 cubes are spoken for as well. Are you willing to split the miner up between us? I'd probably like the controller as well as the 3 cubes to have a backup and a testing platform for determining lowest possible voltages.

What's the REAL WORLD power usage measured with a kwmeter?

384W DC per cube running all dies at 500MHz. Depending on PSU efficiency, ~440w per cube at the wall.

That's roughly what I used to see on mine as well.  I found it best to run at 450-475 and undervolt a decent amount, try to get each cube down to around 325-350W or so.

Definitely not a bad idea considering how overloaded that poor little 6 pin connector is, even at 325-350w. Fucking KNC... These things would've so much better with a second connector.

Probably the same group of scammers as before.

The burden of proof is definitely on them.

Well it looks like I received my Batch 1 compensation about 1 hour ago from Bitmain. Thank you

Wooohooo! I got mine toooooo!

Same here...Bitmain came through on their promise.

Wow, good on bitmain. Looks like they've improved since the S4 PSU fiasco.

Once again, another thread pops up selling goods and is locked to prevent discussion. When will people realize this tactic doesn't work on here?

I'm not calling scam yet, but I'm saying it's a very shady practice. Feel free to discuss here until MinersExpress.com decides to open their thread up for discussion.

MinersExpress.com, I would be willing to test your service and provide you with some reputation after a successful transaction. In order to do this, we would use OgNasty as escrow, or you would ship first and I'd pay upon receipt. If you refuse either of these options, I think we can draw our own conclusions.

Thank you to you all! Very informative! I believe I am going to go with a brand new ATX from what I have seen from everyone.  I really like having the backup of a warranty if something went wrong. I guess it's time to check out some of these manufacturers? I'm guessing that buying straight from the manufacturer is best?

A bit of self promotion here, but check out my for sale thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1289555.0

You'll save a nice chunk VS buying new. Anything in that thread that is listed 1250w or above can handle an S7 from batch 1 to 7. For batch 8 or 9, you'll want 1300w and above.

See there is huge demand for this type of hardware that's why the prices are still very high. Same with S5's.

Why not just buy S7s?  If people want to pay the same $$ for half the efficiency, I guess that's their business...

EDIT: The Neptunes are quieter, I suppose.  That's really the only advantage that I can think of.

I don't think anyone will pay as much per gh as an S7, obviously. 1000$ for a Neptune is silly, unless you're adaseb, but I don't think he's buying.  Wink

I'm confused, how are you mining 36 LTC per day with only 2.5GH/s?

Those are the expected results with a no fee 100% luck PPS rate, such as litecoinpool.org. Are you on a PPLNS pool that's been really lucky? Only way I can see your setup making 36LTC per day unless there's something I'm missing.

In case you're wondering, I got the power figure by multiplying 2500MH x 4.2. A titan pulls ~4.2w per MH at the wall.

So, unless I'm missing something... You expect people to buy the farm for 28K and wait ~18 months to ROI assuming a power cost of 10c per kW? I must be missing something.

With 10c power:

477  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Who is who in the PSU world?? on: January 14, 2016, 09:17:42 PM
Yeah, we're still gathering funding for a mass batch. Probably won't be generally available until around the end of February. Good to know the 1200 platinum would for sure work. Thanks for the info.
Load balancing and voltage adjustment aren't options, mostly because with support for different models of PSU there'd be no cost-effective way to implement it in a way that would work for every PSU the board supports.
More DPS2K boards will have to wait until I have resources to put into it. Right now I'm worried about stick miners, pod miners and DPS8/12 boards.

Running a 240V PSU off a pair of 120V circuits is possible, but a bit risky. You have to make sure to get circuits on opposite phases - which will probably reside in different rooms - and your cabling will be potentially dangerous. It'd be safer to put in a 240V circuit, even run to a single outlet right next to the panel, but not everyone's breakerbox is in a room that miners could be run in. So two 120V circuits is technically possible, but for most people it'd be a bad idea.

No problem, information is meant to be shared. I understand that you have a lot on your plate, thanks for the update.

Regarding adding a 240v plug by the panel instead of in the room your miners will be; that's a great option, and is what I did personally. I installed a 30A 240v twist lock by my panel, and simply run an extension cord to the room where the miners run during the winter. It's not as elegant as passing the wires in walls, but if your basement is finished without open walls or ceilings it's the way to go. My wire snakes around walls and is generally out of sight and out of mind.

Quick Query, If it is in somewhere you don't want people to view the cables, you may be abe to put it in the skirting board, or in a discrete covering.

This would work quite well, though you may have to consider the amount of power that would be lost from adding in a long cable due to the resistance of it. You could always try to purchas a plug outlet from England or another country with 230/240V plugs. If you could find an electrician that could connect two times the amoutn of cables instead of one times, then this may work, extension leads cannot be used to do this.

Covering it with cloth or something could be an option I suppose, but putting it behind a base board would likely constitute an electrical code violation in many jurisdictions. I know for sure that here in Canada, extension cables aren't allowed to be installed in or through walls. I think a base board, or skirt board as you called it, would probably be considered the same.

No need to get a UK or Euro plug/receptacle though, we have plenty of options available in NA for 240V covered by NEMA. For example:

Resistance would be no different than in wall wiring, except if the extension needs to be longer to snake around corners and along walls that in ceiling for example would avoid. It's a small issue that can predicted and offset by using a slightly larger AWG wire if so desired/required.

4000 watts and 3 S7's should run fine- you have plenty of headroom

I am stable running 3 avalon6 on a single 2880, I suspect I will run into those issues without proper cooling. Shocked

I ran 17 amps x 240 volts = 4080 volts for 3 ½ days

2 scythe fans cooled the  dual psu  zero issues

i was doing 2 avalon6's and one s-7

4080w x 0.89 = 3631w DC, so you were still under the 4000w spec.

I've run 2 DPS2000 for about a week pulling 4500w DC from them and they didn't even blink. They are super tanks, massively overbuilt. The fact that you can adjust the OCP protection up to 196A via a trim pot should give you an idea.. These guys were overbuilt and under speced to 2000w in order to get higher efficiency I believe. When you're running at 100% 2000w capacity, it's likely that you're only actually using ~80% or so of the PSU's capacity.

Great to know, thank you!

No problem! 2 of these along with your dual breakout board is probably the best way to power miners today IMO. Could even make it a 5000w setup with your board using DPS2500 instead, and get slightly better efficiency to boot.
480  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Who is who in the PSU world?? on: January 14, 2016, 06:19:45 PM
Nice. The new PSU board we're coming out with is designed to dual-purpose with DPS800 and DPS1200. I have only 1200FBA to test with but someone I sent a sample to mentioned he tested it with one of the platinum models with success. I did run a Batch 8 S7 for a week solid off a 1200FBA on our prototype board with no problems. I'm completely out of DPS2000 stuff, unfortunately.

Oh, nice! Didn't know you were working on a new breakout board. Would be awesome if you could add a pot to adjust the PSU's voltage output. Don't know if that's possible, though. Will you eventually manufacture more DPS2000 boards?

DPS-1200FBA is exactly the same as the platinum DPS-1200FB-1 version, so they should indeed work perfectly with your board. I think all HP common slot PSUs would work with it, actually. They seem to be build with cross compatibility as a priority with HP's servers. Everything common slot I've seen has been built by Delta, which is nice.
