2  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which one is fun, watching with bet or without a bet? on: December 14, 2023, 07:59:14 AM
I experience anxiety when something's on the line for me so I would say that I do have more fun watching without bets because I can enjoy the highlight plays from both teams unlike with the other one where I have some bet, I just get unnecessarily mad to the opposing player which is bad for me and I think everyone because that's stress. That doesn't mean that I don't bet because I do sometimes especially with Counter Strike tournaments right now with all the newly introduced mechanics in the CS2, it's going to be a thrill to watch.
3  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers should not believe in first game win trap on: December 14, 2023, 06:40:40 AM
I don't think casinos offer better chances at winning at first. If that was the case it could be exploited easily.
If someone wants to be certain that his rolls are fair and worries too much of things like this, then he can gamble on probably fair casino games.

I think the more realistic issue with luring in players is how easy it is to win on no-stake rolls and fun token rolls. In non provably fair games this can be a real issue.
It's what you'd call a beginner's luck. Yes there's no casinos that offer that but I'm sure there's some casino out there that's offering that kind of first win reward but I don't think that they're that eager to give you the win, maybe if it's your first win they will give you some sort of bonus. That's not really an illegal thing to do though, the way they lure is unfortunately within the legal bounds of the law so they're not doing anything wrong even if we want to make them look bad for it, they're still doing what any advertisers in the world of business do, attract customer by any means necessary. I mean how come we have not complained about the appearance of a quarter pounder on TV and then comparing it to when we finally order it? That's deceiving too right?

5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Qatar's sovereign wealth fund eyes $500B bitcoin investment on: December 10, 2023, 11:27:32 AM
All the articles mentioning this figure come from low-key websites rather than top media outlets, so I tend to agree with those that doubt it and point out that it's just a rumour and/or a misunderstanding.
Now that you've mentioned it, this would've blow up already in Twitter and other crypto news website because 500B investment prospect isn't just any amount and it comes from an unlikely country so yeah I'm with you when it comes to the doubts regarding this news story, maybe there's more to this but I doubt that, this is the first time I've seen the opposite of FUD.
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and patience on: December 10, 2023, 09:49:48 AM
Bitcoin shows us that time is more valuable than money. This was witnessed in the Russia-Ukraine war, which rattled investors. Who sold for $15k? Yes, they're regretting it. However, Bitcoin's resurgence is a sign of its durability, not chance. All humans react emotionally to market changes. It's a marathon, not a sprint. Those crypto millionaires? In addition to investing, they mastered holding. Checking prices daily may feel useful, but it's a problem. Real deal? The long game is about stability when everything else is uncertain.
When will people ever learn, bitcoin has proven time and time again that if you just believe in it and have the patience to wait for the price to go up again, it's never going to betray you, I just hope that more and more are learning this because there's nothing more sad than selling at an early than expected and then the next time, the price has then gone up and now you're regretting what you have done and you have to start all over again and wait and then you end up doing it again, I feel like the Russian-Ukraine war is sort of an excuse in my opinion because it looks like one of those events that could potential be a catastrophe that will have an effect on a global scale so I can understand why some people sold at that price point, they want to enjoy bitcoin profits in the case that the conflict escalates into a nuclear conflict.
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Finally I did it (I am happy to join). on: December 10, 2023, 09:12:55 AM
Congratulations on the purchase, I do hope that you're one of those people are going to commit to what they're planning to do because if you're planning to hodl, it's going to be up to you if it's a rough ride or a smooth ride because there will be times in the market that the price you're seeing isn't favorable and you feel like you're panicking and you want to get out to cut your losses, that's one of the times that's going to decide if you're choosing what ride in your bitcoin journey you're going to be in. I do hope that you go for the smooth ride because that's literally the easiest way, just buy bitcoin and hodl and forget about it, if there's a FUD, don't think about it.
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Alleged Hacking Incident Tied to Bitcoin’s Massive 83.65 Bitcoin Fee Error on: November 28, 2023, 09:56:19 AM
Bottom line is one should stay from generating their own seed and also from using online tools for that. There is no reason to try and complicate things, keep it simple.
Good advice but I have to say that this kind of thing shouldn't happen again not because of unpreparedness but because the vulnerability has been resolved already, I don't think that's the only thing that we have to continue reasoning that we should be careful, there should be some level of competency on the developer side that's going to make us comfortable even if we aren't that careful with our stuff, I think that it's the best that people aren't worried about this in the future and at the same time prepared about their security. That's a sad reason as to why there's a new record for tx fee, and it's to speed up the transaction of the stolen bitcoins.
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Do I find a Balance Here? on: November 28, 2023, 08:16:51 AM
Since you mentioned in your post that you plan to hold for a long term it means; the funds that you’ve invested won’t be needed anytime soon and if that’s true I’ll suggest you stick to it and look for other means to generate funds to support those businesses that you want to support.
I agree, it's the best if OP don't move anything from the bitcoin that he already has and instead use the future money that's supposed to be for increasing what he's hodling to support that business. One thing I've noticed in that problem is that OP didn't mention if it's his business or not, he's just saying that he's supporting a business that's accepting a crypto, now unless I know if he's an investor to that business or he just wants to support it, I would be giving a different answer. If he's like a part of that business then maybe he needs to do some investing in it or something like that but if he's not then I guess what Cantsay said is what OP should follow or maybe just stick to investing.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Accepting btc of tuitions payments for College/students? on: November 27, 2023, 08:56:22 AM
It's difficult to be able to do that especially with the volatility of bitcoin as many people have already mentioned, the only way that this can be done is through payment processors like BitPay where your bitcoin is converted into fiat when it's sent to the university so technically they're not getting paid in bitcoin for their tuition, there's probably a list there of universities that accept bitcoin as the tuition with no need for payment processors just like what Charle-Tim listed. Your question is actually a pretty good idea that a company can create a system for universities so they can accept bitcoin as bitcoin and not as a fiat or maybe even a thesis project for IT students.
11  Economy / Exchanges / Re: CZ officially bids goodbye to Binance. Will Binance Crash or still stand Strong? on: November 22, 2023, 08:44:00 AM
Binance will continue it's operation, it's just like any other companies out there, when someone steps down as the CEO another one will replace that seat. Binance right now is too big to crash so it's not something we should worry about, what we should be worried about is the new CEO, how will he handle the next generation for Binance and will he be continuing what CZ has started but didn't finish?
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as an overachiever on: November 21, 2023, 07:49:14 AM
If you lack of money and live from paycheck to paycheck, it means you need to find a high paying job first.
Even with a high paying job, you're still going to have a hard time being able to maintain an investment with just one cashflow, what needs to be done besides finding that high paying job is for you to learn other trade skill or any service related skill and then try and capitalize on what you learn to make another cashflow but make sure that your side work doesn't interfere with your stable job because it's going to take a toll in your body and mind which is disastrous for you. Bitcoin isn't an overachiever, in my opinion it's more like it's not meeting people's expectations when it comes to price that it should be right now, some wants it higher while others don't want it to be that way but here we are, bitcoin being branded as an overachiever is a sign of perfection and bitcoin isn't a perfect thing.
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I want to fulfill my mother's dream of building a house with Bitcoin. on: November 21, 2023, 05:23:59 AM
I think your mother would very much love to fulfill your own dream and not hers. But, if you have the same dream then it gets easier.
Your father is trying to give you an education so you can provide for yourself, I don't think they want you to be responsible for them if ever the time comes that you get successful in life. I mean, that's how parents are.
Now you said you are trading. Are you sure about the path that you are taking? Even though you learned so much about it there are always chances that you might get rekt if the market won't fluctuate the way you like it. There's still risk involved in it and you will need money for your capital which means spending, so where will you get that money?
Don't get me wrong I am not bringing you down, it's just that you said you are still a student and I do believe your father can still manage it for your education. If you can save some money by working a little then good, but don't force it and try to finish that education first. It will be the best gift you can give to them.
This can depend on what country and culture that OP has grown from because if OP came from a culture that always returns the favors and debts they have from their parents or just the culture of giving back to your parents especially if they were good to you and they have raised you well then it's likely that OP won't mind doing just that. I do see your concern too that OP is still a student but I see this as a motivation for OP to try harder in his studies to try, if you're good at school then you can expect that your chances of getting a good job or career will be much higher.

As noble this plan is, I say that you should build a foundation of wealth for yourself first before giving it all back to your mother because you don't want to be left destitute after all you've given, make sure you can still live on your own and be able truly independent.
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a peer to peer method less popular than as an investment on: November 15, 2023, 07:33:24 AM
It's the people that's using bitcoin as a P2P payment that had created the concern that you're talking about, when more and more people are buying bitcoin, the demand increases and with the demand increasing then it will eventually make the price of bitcoin higher because people are willing to pay to get their hands on bitcoin and maybe you're right that a lot of people have forgotten what it's used for but the function of being a P2P is still there so it's nothing worthy of concern as long as the feature is still there waiting to be used.
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Make bitcoin "untouchable" for a while on: November 15, 2023, 05:56:31 AM
If you aren't after the kind of yield-earning staking, which is risky and doesn't even guarantee you of a profit, and you also don't like time locks, then consider putting your back up in a sealed container and then in a solid case and bury it. If not, cement it. Or bury it under a tile. I doubt if you would still dig it every time you feel a little panic when the price goes down or whenever you're bored and want to play poker or place a bet on a sports match.
Burying it somewhere is kind of an overreaction to your bitcoin storage idea, you don't need to do that if you have to really stay away from your bitcoin. I think that Timelock's the only thing that might work to solve the question that OP is asking. If you have a need to really make it untouchable to you and you don't want to spend it or sell it when the price goes down, why not just learn how to discipline yourself?
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is King on: November 14, 2023, 04:21:47 AM
Bitcoin is the king of all cryptocurrencies it goes without saying because other coins are dependent on Bitcoin but Bitcoin is not dependent on any coin. Other coins are dependent on a third party but Bitcoin is a currency that has no ownership of its own or ownership that has not yet been disclosed. So it has monopolized the highest position in the market.
You cannot really be dependent on any if you were the beginning of this financial freedom movement right? I think that's just how it is with bitcoin, the people knows bitcoin the most and so that's the one that they care to get into more compared to other crypto out there. Also, the idea that bitcoin is also benchmark or basis for a lot of crypto out there is such a good way to explain why bitcoin will always be king and even if you just look at how is bitcoin doing, you can easily learn about the current market situation.

Can I still defend myself about this? I'm not going to delete this post but I will do what you need to prove myself that this is a mistake.
I haven't created any reputation thread against you and don't plan to unless if I discovered that you were cheating in a signature campaign or scamming. I can't guarantee other members will do the same. Having alts is OK. Trying to lie is not OK.

Why would you use Latviand's username, and yet he didn't apply in this campaign?

It's definitely a mistake I was checking for other users post qualities to improve mine, it must've slipped my mind and I've accidentally copy pasted Latviand's name and never thought too much about it, I'm using a phone so I wouldn't know exactly that I've copy and pasted something.

@CarnagexD, are you sure Latviand is your username, or you forgot to log out?

Xxmodded is another alt of yours, you got caught but then decided to lie about it but on realizing you made a mistake, you quickly deleted the post. Interesting case.

Can I still defend myself about this? I'm not going to delete this post but I will do what you need to prove myself that this is a mistake.
