161  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Feathercoin [FTC] on: June 04, 2018, 01:48:31 PM
In relative comments on the success of this coin for 5 years from now, can we believe these thoughts? Maybe yes or maybe not, but yes if really are in the plans of this coin 10 years after its creation, 2023 your prices will be high. Leaving the speculative idea aside, at the present moment can we really believe in this currency?

2023 is 5 years from now, which is a little under the amount of time FTC has been around. I think its very hard to predict where it'll be simply because it offers nothing new, its basically a litecoin adaptation. I think it could be worth a few bucks if they get some partnerships and adoption, but otherwise it'll be gone before 2019 is over

That's an old debate, but it's actually Litecoin offering nothing new to Bitcoin these days. Feathercoin has done something in a different way.
162  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CryptoDredge ‎NVIDIA GPU Miner v0.1.0 (Windows) on: June 02, 2018, 09:46:13 PM
I have tested your miner on neoscrypt algorithm with NVIDIA GTX1050TI 4GB with my default OC settings. Your miner looks like more stable and a little bit faster. I didnt checked the pool side. This informations are based on the miner reports.

I hope you will release Linux version. There is no any competitor for neoscrypt on Linux.

426.4 kh/s - CryptoDredge
422.7 kh/s - hsrminer fork of Just_a_miner - High process priority version

CUDAminer is still faster. Maybe except for 1080.

and tell me, can you believe in LTC, ETH, BTC or others?
From my point of view, FTC has stable base devs, good development, strong community, stable POW network with ASIC/FPGA resistant algo,  ... that all is more than other 50-70% of cryptocurrencies, they do not have it and will never have. You have to realize that 3/4 of coins were created only for speculations on the exchanges, a lots of them with huge premines.
eg, I use FTC and LTC almost every week for real txs within my friends and others, not only for speculative buy/sells at exchanges. Really do not think that 3/4 of current coins will be alive years later, I only know that FTC will be one of the successful.

Stable devs ? lol

I exposed them for the scammers they are years ago thanks to their public and private mining software/ kernels.

You have been told many times, but you don't seem to have listened. The first NeoScrypt GPU miner, CGminer v3.7.x, was slow. The community hired a programmer for this job who had no prior experience with crypto and even no AMD GPU for testing. Yet the miner worked and was open source. Wolf0 improved it and kept a faster version for himself and his private sales. WTF had you expected the FTC devs to do with it? When I had time and hardware available, I wrote NSGminer and released it open source with no private kernels.

Any interest in having an Orbitcoin blockchain asset trading card made for Spells of Genesis

That's an Android free-to-play game. I see it allows to trade in-game assets through BitCrystals based on Counterparty. Are they looking to swap platforms?

P.S. Nice to see their app is called the Book of Orbs (Ownership Revolution on the Blockchain).

Get on a new exchange before cryptopia fucks you over.

I am mining your coin these days! And every freakin day i find a new coin delisted there with some bad excuse like broken chain or some other shit. From the outside i can see that the only problem is the attitude on the exchange.

Well, Phoenixcoin is 5 years old and has never had a broken chain since my takeover. If they have any issue with the wallet, I'm always ready to help. PXC was one of the first coins listed by Cryptsy and, later, by Cryptopia. Here's the tweet: https://twitter.com/Cryptopia_NZ/status/583085700943200256

I remember the times when they were a small exchange running a few dozen of coins. There are over 600 coins now and I realise very well what it takes to keep'em all in a good order. I recall Cryptsy had half as many coins listed in their heyday and they had their maintenance work done far worse.

Back in days,  It's not like its a high maintence coin either despite it using a lot of memory when staking.  The wallet itself has been functioning seamlessly.

The code base has been polished over the years, the most important optimisations are already there, I can think of a few more. High memory usage is mostly due to the block index keeping 2.5 million records in memory. I can salvage a couple hundred of megabytes by deprecating some parts not really needed, but it doesn't solve the problem in general. I have an idea how to eliminate it once and for all. Need some time to write and deploy this solution.

@ghostlander

Is there a setstake split threshold or combine threshhold or something to that effect? I don't see it anywhere.

stakesplit and stakecombine are still there.

I thought ORB was a min 1 day to mature for stake purposes ?

Mine are still showing immature

Also I am about to buy 500 ORB is it best to drop them into my wallet in 100's ?

Thanks

TT

1 day according to the spec, but it's 2 days in the current wallet. You can move the coins in either way. A large input is likely to stake faster. It will also get split in halves while producing a stake.

wtf some new pixiecoin has the same ticker: PXC ?

This token doesn't even seem to have a Bitcointalk thread.

Howdi all,
Trying to build the wallet on Ubuntu 18.04 but I'm stuck on this error:

Code:
Makefile:1434: recipe for target 'build/txdb-leveldb.o' failed
make: *** [build/txdb-leveldb.o] Error 1

I believe I have all required dependencies, and was previously successful on 16.04. Any help would be appreciated. Thx.

What compiler do you use?

g++, gcc

The version, please.

How many ORBs are left from the original (limited) supply?

Do you mean the pre-mine leftovers or what has to mined to the total supply limit?

Block reward gets halved every 1 million blocks. The next halving is estimated in 9 months.

You wrote "There will be time for PXC to have use other than trading on exchanges"
what use, except for exchange ?

We'll see when the time comes. BTW Phoenixcoin is 5 years old now! Thanks for staying with us.

Actually, my PXC wallet gives me errors when trying to start it.

Try to be more informative if you expect some help.

Я правильно посчитал, в начале 2019 года будет деление награды на два раза ?

Hey I can help with site design if you need help, Could you explain more about this ? https://twitter.com/Squidoogeek/status/996742772605509633
Let's make this project go the moon.
any news for the site? I can help if need to.
this is interesting.
Someone has to own those 3 000 000 ORBs, but almost noone seems to care :/

The person who has designed and maintained our web site cannot do it any more due to his work schedule and other priorities. So, it has to be moved elsewhere which isn't really a problem. However the site is done in both English and French. I cannot maintain the latter.

Let's get it straight. I don't run https://twitter.com/Orbitcoin. Another community member does. In fact, he started the coin in 2013, but couldn't make things right, so I got involved and took over eventually in early 2014 as he had a habit of disappearing without notice for a month or a few here and there. I've received what was left of the pre-mine which was kept at Cryptsy by the way, moved it to a cold wallet oRBBYYiaQ6Kw5fhf2b9YiT86HmynCBsoej and have never used it for my own good. The last payment with the fund was 5k ORB in 2015 for the web site design. If this Twitter doesn't represent Orbitcoin any more, that's fine. We may have another official account. This one has been set up by me 4 years ago, though pretty much unused until now: https://twitter.com/Orbcoin

Question to ghostlander
Are there any new exchanges planned?
This will attract new investors!

I think before new exchanges there must by some update to wallet, recent code base. This wallet look so old. Old school retro style, prehistoric.  Grin

The next one will look better. Although it works fine in general and doesn't seem to have any really important functionality missing.
180  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: NSGminer v0.9.4: The Fastest NeoScrypt GPU Miner on: April 16, 2018, 11:45:03 PM
Uploaded NeoScrypt CUDAminer v1.0.1. It supports Kepler (GK110) in addition to Maxwells and Pascals. The original Titan, Titan Black, Titan Z, GTX 780 Ti and GTX 780. Keplers were never energy efficient, so the hash rate is about 400KH/s for 200W TDP. Well, it works at least.

It shows that NVIDIA Titan GPU is not for mining. Miners should maybe avoid it.

There are many ones in the Titan series. They are not bad, just expensive and their superior DP FP performance is of no value here. There isn't much difference between a Titan and a top level GTX of the same architecture in mining.
