241  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: March 05, 2021, 07:47:09 AM
Who would have thought Liverpool with the lineup they have, might be 9th in the league coming next week. They were the team to beat along with Man City but apparently, not too hard a task for team to get past them or at least get a result. At the begining of the season, it seemed like Spurs, Liverpool, Chelsea would give Man City a run for their money but with just 11 games to go, Man City are cruising their way to another Premier League title. There is a good chance that they win the Champions League this season as well, with most major teams under performing (except Bayern).
Precisely, everyone thought the top four would press on as always and put pressure on man city but unfortunately a game of football has a mind of its own at times.

This is why that Liverpool win in the champions league was a shocker to me because I put some money for the Reds to lose as I considered their poor performance would carry on but unfortunately i lost my wager, I guess my timing was off. But At this point all premier league teams want a piece of Liverpool as they fancy bagging themselves all three points with a struggling Liverpool side that had been  crippled by missing key players.
242  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: March 04, 2021, 10:17:23 PM
2 out of the 4 spots available will most likely goes to Manchester United and City. Chelsea and Leicester are still trying to book their spot for the remaining tickets for the Champions League so it would be hard however Liverpool could make it next year if Liverpool win the Champions League

looking at the current scenario I would say Chelsea can finish in 4th place and Leicester can finish in third place. unfortunately liverpool doesn't have a great chance of finishing in the top 4 this season. tottenham is also in bad shape and will end well below the top 5.

Uefa champions league will be having new faces from the premier league which shows just how competitive this league is but then again it's disappointing how the perceived top four teams have played this season and we can't say it's because of the pandemic as all teams are going through the same conditions so the playing field is leveled.

So what is their excuse??

Liverpool - chelsea

diogo jota is back and I hope he plays today, who knows liverpool will be able to win and change the bad scenario that it is currently... but I have little hope that liverpool will be able to win
Update: Liverpool is back to its losing ways...is this a sign that the have given up on a top four finish, can't even talk about the title because the title chase was over way before the year 2020 came to an end. Could Liverpool be throwing all they have towards the champions league?
243  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I think ethereum is the best crypto next to bitcoin. on: March 04, 2021, 03:02:10 PM
If by best we mean price value that could be true but in terms of usability, well there is a question mark here? I don't think people trying to move 10 dollars worth of tokens or eth can use it today because fees are too high

Ether is best coin after Bitcoin and I too think ethereum is the leading crypto after bitcoin. It includes a exceptionally great blockchain, on it's blockchain can be made smartcontracts , so get modern coins on same blockchain. Ethereum cost will develop after markets recoups, request for ETH is high.It isexperienced the selection of ETHER rise after the boom of Defi ventures.
Exceptional yes, but at what cost! Today we have other alternatives that do what eth does better than it but we side line such because of  there price is low if not that merchants , casinos and many of us don't recognize their existence.

Tbh if there coins that can drive in adoption and be captioned best it cannot be ethereum!
244  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Keep ERC20 token on Metamask or Ledger? on: March 03, 2021, 09:30:10 PM
Why metamask when ledger is safer, metamask is said to be a web wallet. You can use metamask with ledger and it will support it while your tokens will have their ethereum private key stored on ledger which is safer.
Safer don't know about that because I haven't used this hardware wallet before, but one draw back which leaves me with no interest in the ledger wallet... I hear it's limited to a small number of erc20 tokens you can use on it,please confirm?? If this is true this makes metamask a better choice, better yet use MEW to access your coins.
245  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which is better, ether or bitcoin? on: March 03, 2021, 07:12:06 PM
Bitcoin is far much better because how it performs on the market gives direction of how other altcoins like ethereum will be expected to behave.

And with crypto adoption still looking like its growing fast, the high fees we pay on the eth blockchain make it unattractive which leaves us with coin to choose.
246  Economy / Economics / Re: Can the world be without poverty on: March 03, 2021, 12:28:44 PM
Economically, can there be a way people can live and no one will be poor?
You see it wrongly, we must define what "poverty" mean and because poverty is a general word, we must define it as standard for poverty.
The standard of poverty varies between countries. In some countries, getting $ 10 an hour may not be enough to cover your needs
$10 an hour this is okay and  people can work around that but these people don't fall in the poverty category AFAIK because they can afford some basic needs.

Quote

in other countries, $ 100 is enough for the minimum life.
No one can live on that amount knowing very well we have needs for a list of basic needs like education, health, food etc which if broken down this perception that other countries can survive on this I don't think its true, the prices of commodities does go up almost every year especially in times like these where most economies have stalled because of the pandemic, I don't think this is enough! What happens when this 100 is done...?

But my thoughts if poverty can end, well  I don't think so, corruption, bad governance, injustices and a list of other reasons lead to poverty  and knowing very well man can easily be corrupted I don't think this can end.
247  Other / Off-topic / Re: Corruption and Sports on: March 03, 2021, 12:21:03 AM
It's happening in sports, that's why we hear the words "rigged" , because sports can be rigged so majority of the bettors will lose. As a gambler, I think we should be aware of that so we would know where to bet, some sports are not too obvious but it's happening inside.
Everyone has a price, it doesn't always have to be money, it might be a new gym or anything of that nature which many of our sports men and women signup for as they look at the situation as not losing anything.

And most sports games that are likely to fall prey to this corruption are those from lower leagues as their games don't get much TV coverage as compared to the premiere ones.

Yeah, we know from past. Elon musk name is co relate with Dogecoin why not? but, I want to know why Elon musk again n again tweet for Dogecoin any reason ?

Tweet Links are here: https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1357236825589432322

Because the laws of speculation in the world of crypto do wonders and if used correctly get you positive results.

Secondly his a businessman and influencer with a huge following so he might be vouching or shilling doge to get some of his followers or anybody that sees his tweets to use/invest in this coin... or simply trying to give dogecoin the recognition it deserves  Roll Eyes .
250  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 02, 2021, 06:30:58 PM
West Ham hope to sign Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham and Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah at the end of the season. They are also after Brentford's young and talented striker Ivan Toney who scored 25 goals and made 9 assists in 32 games so far in the Championship.

https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/west-ham-chelsea-tammy-abraham-23588320
New coach new problems and thats the story for T Abraham, but for all I know Tammy moving to Westham wouldn't be a bad idea as there is still some talent left in the lad which would secure him as a first choice player.

On the other hand, Tammy's rumoured replacement Haaland moving to Chelsea, I don't think this is happening, for a player who is playing some good football you wouldn't want to find yourself with a team that's in a phase to rediscover itself...so Chelsea fans sorry to break the news but either of the Manchester teams will be a great addition and that's where he might be headed.
251  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: If the US disable bank transfers then all other region will be forced... on: March 01, 2021, 06:59:02 PM
If the US disable bank transfers then all other region will be forced...

If the US disable bank transfers then all other region will be forced to create its cryptocurrency or stablecoin as because the transfers will only be done using cryptocurrency. It will sky-rocket the price of Bitcoin. Do you think it will happen?
Just the imagination itself paints an impossible picture! How does a working government with technocrats arrive at such a decision ?come on people this is not possible and why should the USA be seen to be the people to dictate what must and mustnt go???

These are some of the reasons that have given birth to the satoshis of this world because they understood centralization doesn't work in favour of everyone.
252  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Trading Or Invest ? on: February 28, 2021, 11:12:14 PM
When the altcoin price was experiencing a positive change I was confused ... whether to invest or trade directly ..
your advice is advice to me .. thank you
I would have said to be an investor you need a lot of startup capital whereas the trading journey could be started off a small amount of capital and grow it where ever you want...sounds true but I don't agree!

But when it comes to picking between the two, trading requires you to invest time and money to be equipped with the skill to be able to trade which is more demanding than the other , while investing just needs you to have the money and knowledge about a coin if it the right project to invest in long/short term

253  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: A forgotten story of bounty hunter on: February 28, 2021, 08:38:12 PM
I can see that you registered on here since 2016 but it seems you don't understand how or what bounties are all about, there is no guarantee of payment unless the bounty manager use escrow, many bounties won't pay bounty hunters that's just the bitter truth, if you want to be a bounty hunter you have to be ready for the bad side too
Well said, and the other sad part about some of these bounties is some of these projects don't or didn't even see daylight even if they paid their bounty hunters because they had nothing to offer apart from speculating about the project and waiting for investors to invest, but thanks to time these bounties have evolved though not rewarding as they were back in the day.
My advice if you are to get into bounty hunting today ensure the project has a strong profile or already listed on an exchange(IEO) this way not only are you likely to get paid but also avoid shitcoins.
254  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Newbie gambling sites on: February 28, 2021, 07:29:44 PM

255  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance USDT TRC20 has been changed from 0 to 0.20 USDT on: February 28, 2021, 06:48:44 PM
All these days, it was free or zero cost to withdraw USDT TRC20 but suddenly from today, they have changed it to 0.20 USDT. I don't know if BUSD fee was 0 from the beginning or not but now it has been decreased to 0. The target is to boost the use of BUSD. This is the manipulation of Binance. There’s more to come.
What a coincidence, I actually ran into something similar with another exchange called whitebit.
Though on the higher side of fees two days ago I actually noticed these guys had started including withdraw fees of 0.5 usdt trc20 from being free of charge so am now left to wonder if these exchanges have some sort of consensus to charge or one of exchanges got the idea from the other....or its a way of promoting one coin over the other ....
256  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Gold or Bitcoin on: February 28, 2021, 01:53:44 PM
Living in a digital age I don't see how I could see myself owning gold knowing that gold carries all sorts of costs like security ,maintainance fees and not forgetting there is an element of theft if its in your home etc. To avoid all these worries it has to be bitcoin with is always a private key away.

I will choose gold which has a very low risk of bitcoin, yes, the risk is very high, even though profits can be obtained quickly in bitcoin. stay safe
Low risk and low rewards that is what defines gold if we consider ROI this will take years to recoup your profits unlike bitcoin which is volatile it's rewards don't take forever.

257  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The good side of banning btc in Nigeria on: February 28, 2021, 01:00:57 PM
Like someone has already said bad publicity is good publicity which is the case here, moreover has long has you have access to the internet I don't see how the government will impose this ban...its mere talk tbh.

But on the contrary it is commendable what the government is trying to do ,looking at the large population that all translates into lost revenue if its citizens invest in crypto, so basically the govt knows what it is about to lose.
258  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: February 28, 2021, 11:51:29 AM
I expect today's football match between Chelsea and Manchester United to end 2-1 in favour of Chelsea.
Drop your prediction.
Am seconding on this one despite most bookies have Chelsea as favourites for this fixture.

Quote
Although Manchester United has been the better side in the last six premier League games, with three wins and three draws, todays encounter will be different.
It's not about the past six games,Chelsea are terrible! How terrible, Lampard lost his job and they are rebuilding the team once again and fortunately Manchester went through that stage and will come out the better team today. 1-0 win for ManU!

260  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH high gas fee on: February 27, 2021, 08:08:07 PM
This is awesome!

I have personally never seen such high gas fees anytime before!
Seems to there is panic on the dance floor, I have never expected it will be so high!
This image reminded me yesterday when I was going to trade at Uniswap, I was surprised when I saw the trading fee via https://etherscan.io/gastracker the trading fee exceeds the value of the token I was going to sell, then I planned to send it to the CEX exchange, it turns out the transaction fee also very high, so I better delay the transaction

This is a serious problem for Ethereum developers, if this transaction fee problem is not solved then users will leave
Seeing this reminds me why Uniswap for me at the moment is a no go area because I have lost more money on failed transactions than I have actually swapped tokens for other cryptos on the platform.

Geez is ethereum 2.0 suppose to fix these headaches we facing and what's the ETA?

I'm really disappointed about the gas fees of Ethereum. Some days ago it was too high and still sending erc20 token costs high fees. More people are finding the alternative of Ethereum based token.
With  so many erc20 tokens and decentralized exchanges I don't think fees will be drastically dropping any time soon, our coins will remain in our wallets for a long time.
