521  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Reasons Crypto Players Skip Casinos with KYC on: June 28, 2019, 06:58:46 PM
Lets me quote the 4 reasons in this thread:
Quote
#1 Compromised Anonymity
#2 Fear of Info Exploitation
#3 Hassle
#4 Country Restrictions
,-snip-
Thanks for the quote bitinity.

But besides these reasons I know for a fact that most of these don't have a good reputable regulator, which makes no sense to pass this burden on its customers so better off running with no KYC because if there is a breach who do you run too....and as I have read different problems with KYC winning big with some of these sites attracts scrutiny from these guys which makes withdraw complicated and in some cases never cashing out.
522  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Waves will replace ethereum on: June 28, 2019, 03:48:01 PM
Let's come back to reality and stop dreaming, waves can not catch up to ethereum at this point with its huge support for erc tokens and others....if asked which wave token you know I doubt it if any will come around and by the way when was the last time you used waves or heard this altcoin making any news?

If it's not this thread do you think waves would have crossed your mind...I don't think so.
523  Economy / Economics / Re: CEO - WIREX: "GOODBYE Banknotes... Payments will be DIGITAL" - Cryptonites on: June 28, 2019, 01:41:21 PM
It's way too early to to say goodbye to banknotes. They are still dominating the world economy and will continue to dominate for years to come. The total digital payment transaction volume is increasing every year, but crypto payments are a just a small portion. There's room for optimism, but let's not be so "over-hyped". Grin
Too early???! This should have been done like yesterday!

FYI People are already doing away with cash transactions and preferring to pay for goods and services by swiping which is very much in line of achieving total digital payments.

And a cashless world means better security for us as there are fewer chances of losing money on you or getting pickpocketed or misplacing it, but of course, going digital is still not as flawless as it sounds because there are vulnerabilities which still need some work to be done.
524  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hardcap ICO is no guarantee that the project will succeed on: June 28, 2019, 09:10:44 AM
ICO is not a guarantee that the project will be successful, because most ICO projects are still limited to concepts and do not have clear references
Concept projects don't really need references in as much as I know because they are pretty much the blueprint!

And what is said above is true but reaching a hardcap shows how others have confidence in the concept the project is selling to the public and people are showing interest by subscribing in the ICO. FYI ICOs being an investment you either win or lose as the main reason of investing is to make a profit

but projects that don't make ICO or premine are usually serious and good projects.
and I also agree on this, what about your opinion?
Usually serous??? I doubt it , this is true for first generation cryptocurrencies and does not apply to these new coins here.
525  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-06-27]Millions of investors can't sell their bitcoins on: June 28, 2019, 07:58:43 AM
Honestly I don't have a problem with this because all exchanges have a minimum in place and blockchain.com is no exception and AFAIK this crypto to USD is an expensive process to trade below a certain threshold but less than £100 is extravagant they should reduce this to $50 equivalent.

Strange that all these news came around, even I was around on every day for this month (usually I am not), trading for fun on a small amount but none of my trades were blocked or cancelled. To be sure I only had in total 300k satoshi and I only do BTC=Alt Trades, but that is still about 30+ dollars and it's small enough to be counted as a small trade, so how come I didn't get affected?
You didn't get affected because you are not trading from blockchain.com
526  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will BNB become the king of all coins on: June 28, 2019, 07:22:59 AM
Binance coin might have some good stats and the good luck charm backing it up but to be the ultimate coin, the all coin king it takes more than this! BNB is nothing more than a supporting asset for the binance ecosystem and I wouldn't count on them getting this crown but on the invest side,it does look like a good coin to invest in especially that they have a target to burn 50% of the 200 million coins this move will encourage demand and price increments.
527  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: These will be the best months of your crypto career late comers on: June 27, 2019, 02:47:46 PM
OP Your point is valid as I see late comers who joined in early this year to be enjoying the benefits of using cryptocurrencies as its grown 200-300% of what it was in this time frame.

But unfortunately not everyone is celebrating, it's still a bad time for those that joined in when it was at its all time high and speculation of bitcoin hitting $50k or more was high and people went on to the extent of selling their houses, getting huge loans only for the price to crash, I guess these atm investors are now just looking forwarded to breaking even with the current signs of hope Smiley

528  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Need partner to bet with on: June 27, 2019, 01:14:55 PM
I am the one to use other's money and get 40%
Even if you say you are an expert, gambling does not have a winning strategy that always works, AFAIK it's temporal luck...if this was it underdogs or upsets would never have existed.

And do you realize all the risk will be on the person funding their account with you being on the winning side regardless of the outcome and I think 40% is not justifiable, how did you get to this?

If you are confident in your sport why not join tipster competitions and show us what you are made of.
529  Economy / Gambling / Re: ♨️🎲 WINDICE.io 🎲 Choose your lucky number 🔰 Progressive Faucet💰 Jackpots 🎁❤ on: June 27, 2019, 07:48:35 AM
30-40 bets with 0.45%.Wow! I might try this one too if my luck hit up like yours.
Tried this with over 100 bets and no change of luck and am still trying. Honestly I have concluded to say this was pure luck or my strategy needs fine tuning to bring me some green, betwrong do you mind sharing this winning strategy

530  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can we officially consider Blockchain the new internet? on: June 26, 2019, 08:39:08 PM
In the world of technology we could say it's the next big thing that happened after the internet but then I think the two aren't comparable because they are two different technologies but very much related.
One major factor that separates the two is control, the blockchain is known for its decentralized nature while the internet is run centrally...a reason why the blockchain is growing popular quite fast because people want to do away with the heavy  bureaucracy.

531  Economy / Gambling / Re: Spirebets.com BETA | Cryptocurrency Football Bets on: June 26, 2019, 05:35:57 PM
Finally there is a new sportsbook that is a bit similar to directbet where users are not required to have an account to place bets.
When you mentioned directbet I had to check them out and I must say they are quite similar... though I see Spirebets has the edge with its better user interface, bet suggestions and so on, waiting to try them out to see how fast the settle wagers.

I haven't checked about the odds you offers compared to other sportsbook sites, so I have no ideas whether your odds is competitive enough or not.
Odds look competitive with other sites I use, only drawback is less games to bet on  Roll Eyes guess will have to wait for alpha version.

533  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do you gamble? on: June 25, 2019, 04:18:18 PM
This is a simple question, but one with a much deeper meaning.

Have you ever considered the reason behind your gambling habit or in some cases addiction? Do you gamble for fun or do you gamble for potential profit?
TBH between profit and fun, the motive for me will always be profit! It's never a nice thing to lose money and say you are having fun, it's hypocritical.
Do you gamble, because you hope that a big jackpot will solve all your debt problems or that a big jackpot would fund your dreams?

Am not a fan of jackpots and don't believe in them either because as far as I know these depend on how much you wager, and am prudent enough to bet with only what I can afford to lose unless someone says I have the wrong concept of how jackpots work.

Everyone who likes gambling certainly has different goals in general. For me personally, Gambling is my hobby and I always play gambling when I'm free. And the goal is to get profit (if you win), have fun and look for luck in the jackpot. So hobbies in gambling will provide great benefits for earning income. And I'm not an addict, I can control every time I play.
Atleast someone is honest with their reason for gambling, which is to get profits! These days I find it difficult to believe people that say gambling for them means fun only Tongue I also wonder if people still give this as a reason....
534  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-06-23]Report: Two Israeli Brothers Arrested for Hack of Bitfinex Crypto Ex on: June 25, 2019, 09:52:09 AM
Meh. I thought this was regarding THE Bitfinex hack. Which was probably Bitfinex themselves anyway. Looks like these two were compromising accounts which any old cabbage can pull off.
It does sound like an easy operation but people now know of these scams which makes it difficult to pull off.

What's just surprising is If the brothers were able to pull all this and in the end get caught....how did they get sloppy after all this operation??? Maybe their lifestyle changed, they blew big bills and became person's of special interest in their community.....or someone sold them out?
535  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does gambling sites needs to be a mobile friendly or not? on: June 24, 2019, 12:18:48 PM
Yes, by all means!

AFAIK for a business not to deter users that are using mobiles, who apparently should be the largest userbase of all platforms this is a necessary step, if a site fails to support these platforms it's lost revenue both in the short and long run. Nobody should force themselves to use incompatible UI all in the name of loyalty.

537  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-06-21] ‘If Bitcoin Hits $10k, It Will Easily Break Past The $15k Price Lev on: June 23, 2019, 10:21:04 AM
we got to $10K easily and this could be a good or bad thing.
Am expecting price corrections which could easily pull us back but am thinking high prices usually pull the attention of people looking for a profitable asset to invest in and thanks to the ongoing trade war cryptocurrencies are indirect beneficiaries which means more money pumped in for crypto to challenge for the all time high of $20k.
538  Economy / Services / Re: Accelerate my transaction on: June 20, 2019, 01:28:06 PM

539  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: You don't have to buy one bitcoin at once on: June 19, 2019, 02:41:14 PM
My plan for the last couple weeks is to put $100 in at the start of every week. Hopefully can keep slowly accumulating this way. Obviously would take forever to accumulate entire coins, but hey, gotta start somewhere!
Good strategy hope you don't lose hope/focus along the way and sell your crypto stash, and just so your don't derail thought I share some words of encouragement from a famous Chinese proverb by Lao that says "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step" so if you start saving up a $100 every week or so before you know it 1 btc will be sitting in your wallet, start asap!
Good luck on your 1 BTC journey

540  Bitcoin / Press / [2019-06-19]Big Four Auditing Firm PwC Releases Cryptocurrency Auditing Software on: June 19, 2019, 12:59:42 PM
Big Four auditing firm PwC announced the release of a cryptocurrency auditing software solution in a press release published on June 19.

Per the release, the tool newly added to PwC’s Halo auditing suite can be used to “provide assurance services for entities engaging in cryptocurrency transactions.” The firm claims that, with the new addition, the Halo suite permits PwC to provide independent evidence of private-public key pairing (to establish crypto asset ownership), and gather information about transactions and balances from blockchains.

PwC further notes that it is already employing the new tool to support audits of clients involved with cryptocurrencies, and assisting companies for which the firm is not the auditor in implementing processes and controls necessary to obtain assurance reports from their auditors. Still, the company notes that the tool is not without its limitations:

Quote
“Our ability to audit an entity engaged in cryptocurrency activities is very much influenced by our client’s control environment, and at this stage, by the breadth of tokens supported by our Halo software. These considerations will be key when determining whether we are comfortable to accept an audit engagement.”
Lastly, it is specified in the announcement that the new addition to the Halo suite supports bitcoin (BTC), bitcoin cash (BCH), bitcoin gold (BTG), bitcoin diamond (BCD), litecoin (LTC), ether (ETH), OAX (ERC20 token) and XRP.

As Cointelegraph reported at the time, PwC was the top recruiter for blockchain-related jobs on recruitment platform Indeed at the end of March.

Also at the end of March, PwC competitor and big four auditing firm Deloitte announced that it was testing data management on the Ethereum blockchain with three Irish banks.
