So, as the presidential election in the United States comes closer and closer with each day passing by, I have wondered about some stuff...
Since the MAGA base has continuously talked about how much of the elections in the USA has shown some inconsistencies and how they prefer to vote in person instead of mail ballots. Will there be something different happening this year when compared to what we already saw going on in the 2020 (with the whole COVID situation going on). The bulk of the population does not longer have a valid excuse to send their votes by mail, dominion voting systems won a multimillion dollar lawsuit against Fox because defamation and in general, things seems to have gotten quite back to normal in the USA.
Is there anything else to be changed to change to make elections more secure than they already have? because as it stands today, the elections in the USA are considered to be one of the fairest and democratic in the western hemisphere, as far as I know

Back when election laws were first set in place, all votes were hand counted on the day. There were no mail-ins, and no excuses if you couldn't make it to the voting station.

Arizona, the last state to become a state (excluding Alaska and Hawaii), became a state in 1912. Back then there weren't any electronic voting machines anywhere. It was all done by hand.

This was before the States had birth certificates. A new child was registered in the family Bible. There was a big book in each county called the Great Register, where the people of the county wrote in their status as living in that county. Everything was done by hand. Voters were confirmed by their listing in the Great Register of their county.

There were sworn witnesses at the polls during voting. Often each political party had a party sworn witness there to make sure that people voted correctly. The process looks like it would have been slow. But it wasn't that slow, and it wasn't open to as much corruption. People of the county often all knew each other.

Georgia people are pushing for honesty in elections. Virginia, also. Arizona, too. Other States are coming on board as their citizens start to demand transparency.

The Georgia Election Board has voted 3-2 in favor of a new rule mandating that election workers compare the total number of ballots cast with the total number of unique voter ID numbers in the system.

This rule aims to ensure that every vote cast in the state is legitimate and that any discrepancies are thoroughly investigated before election results can be certified.

The new rule, reported by former RNC official and Trump's spokeswoman Liz Harrington, is set to overhaul how precincts handle election returns.

Under the rule, if discrepancies are found in any precinct—where the number of ballots exceeds the number of unique voter IDs—the counties are required to withhold certification of the election results until the suspected fraud is fully investigated and resolved.

According to the newly approved regulation, the Georgia Election Board members are tasked with scrutinizing the voting data in each precinct. Specifically, the rule stipulates:

Tabulating Results: After each election, but no later than 3 PM on the Friday following the election, the Election Board must conduct a review of precinct returns. This includes tabulating all absentee ballots, advance voting, Election Day in-person voting, and provisional ballots. The total number of unique voter IDs will then be compared with the total ballots cast in each precinct.

Investigating Discrepancies: In instances where the number of ballots cast surpasses the number of unique voter IDs, the Board is required to determine which voting method the discrepancy originated from and conduct a thorough investigation. Votes from the affected precinct will not be counted until the investigation is completed and the results are presented to the Board, as mandated by GA Code § 21-2-493(b).

I know it is some of the talking points I have read coming from Republicans and specially Trump since he started his political career, though, the ironic thing I have also read is that Republicans may be hurting their own chances of winning by encouraging their base to line up on election day rather that using the same tools which Democrats use to make all people able to vote in their most convenient way. It has led some people within the MAGA movement to even suggest they should also use mail in ballots and such.
Out of curiosity, how long would you be willing to wait for national results on a presidential election if all was made manually like the good old times? Would you be willing to wait a week or two to know who your next president is going to be?

This week, all 159 Georgia counties conducted a post-election audit of ballots cast in the March 12th Republican Presidential Preference Primary. The link you posted was about the 2024 GOP primary, which Trump won.  

You didn't read the article, \the text that you copy pasted below the headline or even the date it was published (almost 6 months ago...)  You probably found the article linked with an incorrect or misleading summary on one of your right wing rage bait/vitamin and supplement stores disguised as a media site with journalists.  After clicking it, and before posting it here, you only read this much of the article:

And then, instead of continuing to read the rest of the article, you just assumed that it was making one of the various arguments about 2020 election fraud which have been proven false and posted this:

- The audit was of the 2024 GOP primary
- The Georgia Secretary of State mentioned the 2020 election to point out that, like this 2024 GOP primary, the 2020 General election was also fair with no evidence of any fraud significant enough to swing the outcome.

You should read the articles you post before you post them instead of making assumptions.

What good is a speedy tally if it is wrong? Let's do it right.

Before electronics, when people knew that it was voting time, they came to vote, and the count didn't take all that long. There was a logical, witnessing of the vote count by as many people who wanted to witness. The counts were way more accurate than they are today.

If people want to be traveling the world, and can't make it to vote on the day, too bad. They aren't really citizens of their State anyway.

Ahh yes, discrepancies, which were caused by hand counting. Over 44,000 votes and the audit resulted in in difference of 6.

This small amount of difference is well within the expected margin of error for an audit of this size, and it is largely caused by human error during the hand counting process.

I disagree that we should get rid a hand counting due to the natural and expected discrepancies that result from human error.  Using electronic machines to make the initial count and then a hand count to verify it's within the expected margin of error seems like the smartest way to maintain the high level of security that Americans are accustomed to.

To summarize:

- There was no evidence of fraud during the Georgia 2024 GOP primary that Trump won.
- There was no evidence of fraud in Georgia during the 2020 general election that Biden won.
- There 6 vote difference in the result and audit of the 44,000+ votes in the 2024 GOP primary was "well within the expected margin of error" and "largely caused by human error during the hand counting process".

While this is a move in the right direction, it isn't complete. However, it opens up room for a properly worded suit in the future. The good thing that it does is, it opens up the possibility for people of other States to more easily force the identification requirement into their election committees.

Note that this could limit some or all illegal alien voting in Arizona.

The vote was 5-4 with Justice Amy Coney Barrett joining the far left court justices in the opposition.

The voter registration law will immediately go into effect ahead of the upcoming November election.

The complaint filed by Disability Rights Wisconsin says the Town of Thornapple violated the federal Help America Vote Act by not making electronic voting machines available to people with disabilities during the April and August primaries.

"By ceasing to use electronic voting equipment and, instead, exclusively using paper ballots completed and tabulated by hand, Respondents are no longer using voting systems that are accessible for individuals with disabilities in a manner that provides the same opportunity for access and participation (including privacy and independence) as for other voters," the complaint said.
