They have already tried splitting the blockchain at yet the price still isn't dropping down to a $100. Its almost impossible really to plunge the price down, it has to be a very creative and believable fud to make it a hundred.
A possible fud that can drag its price to $100 is to show Satoshi moving thousands of his coins from the very old wallet since genesis and cash it out. This incident may really make the price drop like its hot down even less than $10. ITs not going to help the entire crypto though because it will also drag along the prices of all coins.

When the split actually happens, the short chain bitcoin will die if there are no big whales to support it.

It is much more than that, The hardfork wont really make the price drop down to $100. More and more people are buying bitcoin right now to anticipate the hardfork. They will get bitcoin unlimited from that and it could be sell for some amount so there is no point to keep on selling everything because of the hardfork

Well if the split happens im pretty sure it will damage a lot bitcoin, since it were the king and even with some issues around it were the main investment currencie from all crypto, split will just be a stupid moove, people need to do the best for the coin not to their greedy wishes.

Yes, you are dreaming because it's impossible to happen, it's not going to happen for sure. Consider a golden chance to have bitcoin pricing 1000$ to buy it in time and continue holding until these nasty news about bu pass away.
I'm sure the classical bitcoin will continue as the main currency of all crypto currencies.

I would not say it's impossible because everything is possible in bitcoin, we hit a good price and there is a chance to hit the lowest price as well.
The only thing is that if one would wait for that price to happen before buying, he might miss the opportunity to earn actively and take advantage of the volatility of bitcoin's price, I for sure when the price falls that low would also consider buying, we know how the bitcoin perform so eventually it will rise again.

But I doubt that the price will go to $100. $400-$500 perhaps would be a good price to buy bitcoin and earn a profit. But the price is hovering just below $1000, then in a few hours will rise a notch, so people are still buying at a range $950 will I consider a good buying price still. And I don't think we need to wait for $100 just to buy, we can do it right now and hold it for a bit longer because looking back at the historical charts of bitcoin, It always rebounded itself and increase the price in the future.

If he ever wanted to sell his bitcoins, I guess, he could easily sell them off the market and at prices significantly above 10 dollars per coin. Such price is meaningless since his 1M bitcoins would be worth measly 10M dollars. Even if we assume that only 1M bitcoins is actively traded right now (this the lowest estimate, and the real number should be higher than this estimate ) and assume linear elasticity of the price (i.e. demand), selling off 1M bitcoins would only bring the price down to around 500 dollars per coin. The price could flash crash substantially below that value, but in the long run it should still climb back to that figure again over time

I don't worry about Bitcoin being surpassed by another coin. Especially not when you consider that with certain implementations Bitcoin will offer an excellent micro currency experience that a lot people here find very important. But that's not really something that will be taken care off within a reasonable amount of time. We first need to smash ourself a way through these everlasting scaling debates with a proper solution.

Right now, the price of the bitcoin going down a bit to 900$, this might be the best time to snag your chance to buy bitcoin at a low price, because as we all have seen over the course of time that whenever the price of the bitcoin is down it is usually followed by a big spike and many people always take their chances from that and make huge profit and so I think that everyone else should do too.

You can see both of the coins, ethereum and ethereum classic. Both are same but with the different dev. And i can say it will give a lot of the impact for the bitcoin. But it looks like the split will be worthless.

Yeah its impossible that bitcoin can ever achieve that low price in future as bitcoin has gone higher over a period of time and current dip is also not permanent and we will be seeing price recovering very soon and if you are hoping to see that low price to buy bitcoins then it will only waste your time and nothing else.

Nice, op totally think that bitcoin will continue falling apart, it is possible if other cryptocurrency is going to arrive and overcome bitcoin, but as far as I concern there will be no such thing, even eth is way further from being compared with bitcoin, and the demand for bitcoin is too high, so soon enough bitcoin will comeback and might even overcome the highest of its price.

My answer is you are just talking out your ass
Probably most of the member here or majority of them will tell that you are just wasting your time and waiting for nothing, because bitcoin is onward resuming now the price value at 1300$. Meaning, it  you may drop a little bit but not in 100$ which you are waiting it to be happen.

I don't think it's a waste of time though, the price is great but we have seen many times how the price move so I would say it's till possible since we are still close with that value. However, if one will think to see a price like what is mentioned in the OP, that will take time and if only bad things will happen in bitcoin's economy.
