Hey guys, I hope someone can help me... I installed Electrum 2.5.4 first time on this computer and havent set up any password and I have no seed. It says it is encrypted and to set up password it asks me for the old one, but there is no old one. I didnt create any. I havent this problem with older version on my old laptop. Creation of seed and password was part of instalation process. Not here. What to do? Can I send BTC to that wallet, or it will ask for non exsiting password when I will want to send it from wallet? as dan said above, Don't send money to that wallet until you're sure you can use it. Doesn't sound like you can. To verify, you can try to sign a message: with the wallet open, go to addresses tab, copy one of your addresses to clipboard. then go menu "tools" -> "sign/verify" message, paste some made-up message, paste the address and click "sign". Maybe even more sensible: display the seed by going to menu "wallet" -> "seed". Sound from your description of problem that both things will probably prompt for a password, which means the wallet is encrypted. This. Yes If your scared of deleting it fully just move the files out of that folder. You can always move them back then. Generally the first wallet ever made is called default_wallet

I would not use that wallet. Is that wallet currently empty? If it is do the following. Close electrum. GO to C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Electrum\wallets WHere <username> is your username Delete the wallet file Start electrum again and create a new wallet. Yes, it sounded to me like there might have been an electrum wallet installed already. The wallet files were still there so only the electrum.exe was deleted and now after reinstall the old wallet was used again. Which was encrypted. Portable is better. No strange storage locations and full control about everything that is part of a program.

Not a big deal, but since the homepage is currently at https://electrum.org, maybe the OP should be edited to reflect that?

Not a big deal, but since the homepage is currently at https://electrum.org, maybe the OP should be edited to reflect that? That _is_ a big deal. If electrum.org indeed is the official site then that should be linked in the OP here an nothing else. You can't expect users to use electrum.org when OP links electrum-desktop or some other site. OP also says latest release is 1.0. OP needs to be updated. Maybe also with checksums of latest releases. Who own this newbie "Electrum" account that owns the thread anyways?

Agreed , It's already on the SystemTray but It would be better if It dissapears from the Taskbar once we minimize the window and It comeback when we double click on the icon on Tray system.

I hope we don't see fake electrum version on there at some point. It could destroy electrum completely in a short timeframe.

I've made my own minimize to tray option. If you build from source, you can pull my branch https://github.com/valesi/electrum/tree/minimize-to-tray (valesi/minimize-to-tray). It works perfectly on Win/Linux, but on OSX the window does the minimize then restore animations, then finally hides to the system tray. I'm not sure I want to pull request into main source yet due to that glitch, but it appears there's nothing I can do about it. OSX just wants to do the animations regardless.

I noticed a lot of improvements and fixes are rolling in for some time now (2 months maybe?)
Across the board really, but most notably for me is substantially improved trezor support.
Just wanted to thank the developers for that!
I also see a new active contributor to the repo, called "kivy".
Maybe the 2 observations are related?
