Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

mining if you have free electric Tongue

Free electricity doesn't mean it's profitable. You're burning up your video card/CPU at the same time. Factor in those costs.

when i was instamining alt in the past, it was basically with free electricity, because i was mining for 5 min and then repeat for another coin, and it was everything but not profitable

also if well cooled, usually custom gpu are the best, you can be assured that your gpu would last very long, and anyway gpu are not like asic, they have warranty...

If you calculate the earnings for these coins, you would make significantly more buying them off the market privately. I've yet to see a coin where this wasn't true.

This is one edge of gpu mining: the warranty of the card itself. Nowadays, altcoins mostly are GPU-dependent on their algorithms thus making GPU mining profitable (if in case these coins hit the exchanges). Also, a few cards would probably give you some profit if you mine a low-difficulty coin already out in the exchanges, it's also a plus if you got a cheap electricity.

Actually GPU mining is done at a loss in most cases these day's.  Finding a new coin with low diffiulty with value is not a everyday thing.

And even if you make money chances of having ROI on card are pretty much zero.  It's the days of Asics now.   GPU's just are to expensive to run.

Overclocking your GPU will void the warranty. I believe mining at 100% will as well. And sadly, nobody has lifetime warranties anymore, Sad.

Because we live in a consumerist economy where the more you consume the better the economy is, fallacy is on.

Regardless, the maximum warranty you get is 5 years here, and that is on TV and PC. For shitty small stuff, 1 maybe 2 years.

They make shittier items for the same price (shrink-flation), to hide the inflation in the economy. So no producer will assume the risk of warranty.

Blame the money printing Smiley

XFX used to give lifetime warranties... and even better, they could be TRANSFERRED twice to new buyers (significantly increasing the resale value of their cards). Sadly, they don't do that anymore, either.

not always , because some of them where basically worthless, even after the launch, and there were the chance to hold useless dust

with instamining you mine a shitload in 2 min and forget, basically it's like they give you free coin, that you cna sell to sucker, that want to deal with the trading aspect

what do you mean? xfx is a gpu company, it has nothing to do with crypto, gpu should not be that bad for crypto if you're asking for this, but there are only few coins that are profitable

take a look at the altcoin announcment section, search for the new only, if it isn't already launched it's probably not profitable

At the current time, is it profitable to mine altcoins? If it is, then should the altcoin have the lowest difficulty, or be chosen it based on another factor? Is it easier to get profit from a CPU-mine only coin, or something like BURST, which you 'mine' using your HDD?

Not at all. You're better off mining BTC and using that to buy alts in most cases. Some will claim "you can mine x of coin y and you'll make a lot if it goes up 10x," but you'd make more buying it for BTC since you'd have more coins.

maybe yess, but mining altcoin is harder to calculate than you mining bitcoin
altcoin price is  "very unstable" than bitcoin price

I was excited to hear about HD mining.  But look at some of the burst calculators.  I found it takes multi TB's of diskspace and you make a few bucks a month.  That does not cover electricity.

If you look at burst price it has been on a downward trend for a while.  Take a look at long term trends - https://poloniex.com/exchange#btc_burst

what is this HD mining?

Some coins (like BURST) use a mining algorithm that's based on HDD space, rather than processing intense algorithms for coins. So the more space you have, the more you earn.
