Can bitcoin really do anything to solve world poverty problem? Brian Singer certainly think so. He thinks that Bitcoin can bring minimum everyday earning for people more swiftly than any other economy system.

Is it possible?

http://www.forbes.com/sites/steveforbes/2015/04/02/how-bitcoin-will-end-world-poverty/

Bitcoin will not end the poverty in the world. Poverty is a disease that cannot be solved by simply changing the currency. It is a condition that has been happening  since the world began. Poverty is unavoidable and even if bitcoin becomes a legal tender it would simply mean that there will be more poor people coming in since population will go bigger and calamity is always occurring due to climate change.

In Pakistan and Kenya OTC transactions - two-thirds of all funds transferred in this way. In theory, such a mobile money as a Bitcoin are the ideal preference in comparison with cash. This dramatically reduces the cost of transactions.
No need to become a client of a bank or to get to the bank or ATM, and in some cases this means a long trip on the bus.

It can be temporary solution for poverty and it can feed people if the bitcoin user earned good amount of btc in this state but bitcoins cannot gaurantee that we can earn money with it everyday because first price is unstable 2nd every population of bitcoin user is increasing and competition to get bitcoins is even more harder since many people are hungry to earn bitcoins to.

Bitcoin will help a little like receiving payment with other country for business, and you can have work with online payment easy but idont think it will end poverty. it will help like disaster happen to any country any one can help now with only bitcoin address needed and change it with local currency after receiving it.

I guess the video is just showing a little hype regarding BTC and blockchain, but to answer the question by the OP, hell no, poverty doesn't come just because people can't do payments, receiving or sending currencies for free or cheaper and online, it has something to do with people characteristics and government. BTC is just another way or window of opportunity for earnings but cannot end poverty in an instant.

Maybe not BTC by itself but in combination with distributed token platforms, like NXT and WAVES and cheap mobile phones you can use currencies for micro-transactions, BTC for savings and anon currencies for other things!

Not now. There are still many people who are not owning a higher technology not even a smartphone. But in a few years there will be a lot more, since kids now can access one and know how to use it.
Maybe that era will be the one starting to get something out of bitcoin to avoid being poor.

Well said, there are lot still who can't even afford a smart phone as well don't have much knowledge about digital currencies. For this reason its really hard to end world poverty with bitcoin or other digital currency.

I would say nothing can end worlds povery, except big banks, millionaires etc shares profit with poor but not through charity, but real share : 100% gets to the poor.
Charity is a bullshit,in most cases 50-70% gets to the owners of it... i prefer to help ppl myself, not send money somewhere like a blind child lol

True, but if the people in the village with a smartphone have access to this new tech it will increase commerce and bring more people up to that level.

For poverty to be eradicated 100% it would take more than a new currency, you would need to convince rich people that they can't be that rich, because there aren't enough resources in the world and if we want not a single person to be poor, we have to raise the average global standard of living, that only means the top richest people have to lower their lifestyle, and good look with that unfortunately, they are psychopaths.

I'm not sure that bitcoin can help poverty reduction in the future, if that true the price of bitcoin will be very high in the future and would be difficult to get a free bitcoin as now.

Poverty will never end. There will always be an imbalance in terms of wealth distribution. That's the reality of life. But there are ways to lessen poverty and many philantrophists like Bill Gates donate huge amounts regularly to help those in need have hope for a better future.

All the really poor people in the third world don`t even have a computer.

The really poor people can`t even write and read. How can they earn bitcoins? It`s impossible.

Bitcoin has nothing to do with the world poverty.Poor people need more education and work.

I think it is currently impossible for bitcoins to really end World poverty. I get that many people are not able to afford the smart devices and most of
them are unaware of the digital currencies. But this question talks about the change in monetary value and distribution of bitcoins among people. I believe bitcoins can make life easier but not sure about poverty.

bitcoin have nothing to do with world poverty, people need money to get bitcoin and poor people don't have money so simply they won't owning bitcoin,if just a little of bitcoin they can afford but not with few of bitcoins,if they could, means they weren't in poverty at all,so the conclusion bitcoin can't end world poverty

No. Bitcoin can't end world poverty but it certainly can make a tech savy guy richer. However, if you talk about making payments, then definitely bitcoin can transfer funds from one place to another place faster but that is not going to end world poverty.

Because such kind of payment facilitator was present from a long time in the world like paypal, perferctmoney etc. But they did not help poor people. This way just by facilitating payment, bitcoin can't end world poverty.

Absolutely no way Bitcoin could ever end world poverty, I don't think people understand why/how money works. Money is inextricably linked to human desires. As long as there is a single human out there desiring something, anything, no matter how small or trivial, extreme poverty must exist.
