Can bitcoin really do anything to solve world poverty problem? Brian Singer certainly think so. He thinks that Bitcoin can bring minimum everyday earning for people more swiftly than any other economy system.

Is it possible?

Hi there,  for me bitcoin helps only many people in earning some money to use it in some purposes in their lives. This will help us in making our lives more easier than before.  Also, this will lead to us that bitcoin is a problem solver of many people in this world and it helps many people that encounter some problems and in poverty stages

Yes! I think Bitcoin is capable to end the world poverty; it will just take time but later on, it can lessen it then end it after a long run. If people will work on it and disseminate it to others.

I don't think so. You can say that bitcoin is very powerful by now but its power is nothing if it is not going to be used by those who are in poverty. Bitcoin is just a currency which brings good money to those people who are investing on it. As soon as we all experience the greatness of bitcoin in our life, that's the only time where we can say bitcoin is indeed a good investment but not for everyone.

Bitcoin has all the capabilities of ending the world poverty but without our actions, it will never be possible. We always believe that bitcoin is the key to escape poverty but we don't pay attention on the fact that not everyone who are in poverty will be able or choose to use it. Maybe we can earn plenty and help the needy but I don't think that would be enough to end world poverty still.

I do not think that way, bitcoin does not end world poverty, Bitcoin will only make a profit for those who have bitcoin, and for those who do not have bitcoin then they will not benefit from bitcoin.

Every invention the world has seen was intended to alleviate human suffering not to end it. Bitcoin being one of such inventions has also come to do its part in that direction. Bitcoin is a form of money which also has to be worked for. The reason why poverty has continued to ravage the world is because many now are too lazy to work.

Only collective human compassion can end world poverty.

I agree with this, it doesn't matter what currency or economic breakthrough there is as long as humans tend to focus on themselves and live and work selfishly then there will always be someone who will be left behind, someone deprived of something that others have in excess.

This is not possible. Because Bitcoin could not reach the world yet. More than half of my country's people do not know what is Bitcoin. They have no education. They do not have internet, there is no computer, how will they be enriched? Here they will work with it?So they do not have a knowledge of Bitcoin and they have no desire to get an extra income.

I dont think Bitcoin can end the world poverty.
It can go a long way in reducing the world economical stress, but not every one will be able to use bitcoin in this form. Considering the, old, very young, illiterate and villagers.

It certainly can, as long as the Internet in every PC is Present. For all, unemployed and underemployed individuals in the world, they can start their own business with BTC, gaining enough to bring theirselves in line with the growing economy. It ends poverty as long as it still remains the same, where regulation, tax, scam and anything that has to do with the payment on every transaction are all gone.

Bitcoin can never put an end to poverty in the world. If Bitcoin can put an end to poverty, governments and the world will accept Bitcoin in 2009. Poor people will never know about Bitcoin because they do not have much money to buy Bitcoin

No but it could be used to earn some money.
And the people needs a way to earn some money so they could use Bitcoin to earn in their free time so that they would have extra money and could start saving for their family.

wow an old post that is still relevant to discuss. instead of imagining the possibility of bitcoin to tackle world poverty, I prefer to judge from experience and what I feel. as a young man from a middle-income family, I feel that bitcoin is able to assist me in alleviating poverty in the family. and some of my close friends are also experiencing similar things, so I think if bitcoin continues to be developed, then it can be one way in eliminating world poverty.

The primary reason for poverty is overpopulation. Unless we are going to solve it, poverty will remain on this planet. And I don't understand how Bitcoin can help dealing with over-population. It is just ridiculous.

No. Bitcoin was never intended to end poverty. I dislike articles as this one.
The powers that can end poverty, aren't doing so. That's the problem. Don't expect Satoshi to be the savior of this world.

Yes, of course bitcoin has no connection in the poverty. The poverty is in our hands. Why is it there a poverty? It is because of the people, ourselves, if we all know how to survive our lives in poverty then there is no peoples are poor now. If they are enough knowledge to find money or ways to earn money, then they are maybe become rich now. Knowledge is important, if all people have enough knowledge, they know how to earn bitcoin also.

I think it can happen, not now but it will happen one day when it is fully accepted worldwide and we do not have to pay enormous fees to banks and other financial institutions to keep / transfer our money from one place to another. but the new currency form will not solve the world problem when people who have the power to make changes can not or will not use that power.
