I think this is a good point which needs to be considered by governments of various countries. With the internet, most citizens can make money from crypto and make life easier for them. This can even go a long way to reduce unemployment as people can make a lot of money from crypto and establish jobs for others to do.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

At present there are interesting projects aimed at implementing the famous Universal Basic Income through cryptocurrencies, but they are only proposals in development that still lack sufficient financial support to prosper.

Apart from these idealistic projects, I do not see a practical way in which Bitcoin can become a practical tool to combat global poverty, especially taking into account the very small market that cryptocurrencies still have, which is not enough to guarantee a fair distribution of the wealth globally.

Yes there are blockchain projects with this exact goal in mind. One is called Delicia and it's goal is to redistribute unused/expiring food across the world to people that are starving. Blockchain has a lot  of potential for this, but I don't think bitcoin necessarily does.

Bitcoin can be a very powerful tool in ending the world's poverty in this our generation but it is all dependent on the persons/individuals involved. A lot have this power within their reach and not using it to liberate others but holding it to themselves. A change of heart is important to allow the free flow of wealth and not being stored up in a particular location. The end of the world's poverty begins with you and I!

no! cryptocurrency will not end poverty., because poverty come on the people itself, because they do nothing in order for them to earn and provide for themselves. Most people who are lazy are poor, that is why unless people become industrious.. poverty will not end.

I don't think Bitcoin can end poverty; maybe Bitcoin has a potential to lessen the poverty but not to end it. Poverty is a huge problem worldwide, I don't think Bitcoin is powerful enough to end it permanently.
