I am thinking about setting up some masternodes. Does it still need only 112 8Bits to set it up?
The last time i checked (not in the forum) it was around 5k to 10k, i don't really remember, but there was a lot of syncing problems, was slow, and you could end-up syncing the wrong chain !
Now it is fixed, and syncing should be quicker.
OP when do you expect to release some updates ?

Thanks for the info, so I need to buy more 8bits! Smiley

Buy and hold, this coin was on top 10, and can seriously get back to it (especially because of PIVX and DASH)
Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

Can someone post the full, actual working blockchain for this?  Not a bootstrap...

Ok, as promised here is the full blockchain I got from my Linux wallet as a backup about a week ago:
https://mega.nz/#!ygViUI4b!YorYjEl2BKZj6u5m6AcSCQkQSGKqbBshY1VOfCtWerM

I make backups periodically, as this chain tends to fork due to small number of active clients.
It is 1.23GB. I believe it is the correct chain, as it seems to be moving well. But as far as I understand, there is not much means to check it.

EDIT: ok, I can confirm now this is the correct blockchain. I have made test deposits to Bittrex and Cryptopia, and both went ok, so this is the same chain exchanges are running on.

Nice thanks a bunch for this!

I forgot the block hash to check in order to verify is you are in the right chain or not. Can OP post it again ?

You probably mean this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1028119.msg16692317#msg16692317
and this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1028119.msg17297627#msg17297627

But better to use this: http://explorer.8-bit.ga, as those hashes above are from pretty old blocks.

So... if you want to check versus one of the latest blocks, then according to block explorer, this
Code:
getblockhash 851069

should give you this:
Code:
1ae778e2e639aaebd66b4261495d3ac7e2d0309a1bd9a169abc175c6eab3de4e

A currently sync'd blockchain snapshot for 8bit (current as of 8PM PST, 3/27/17) has been uploaded to CryptoChainer.com

It is in sync with Cryptopia's nodes.

Have you removed orphans from this file?

No. That is not a bootstrap, but the full ".8bit" directory backup with the databases (without wallet.dat and the .conf, of course Smiley).

steve321 was asking for the full dir, I assume because syncing from bootstrap still takes ages, if the PC/server is not the highest-end one.

I can confirm sending and receiving from Bittrex with the blockchain.  How does one remove orphans for future use?

Does anyone have a full guide on how to setup masternodes for this coin? I've never setup a masternode before, so the more detail the better thanks
Since masternodes are so big right now 8bit has caught my attention, since it's so cheap

Also if this coin is alive and still being developed what do people think about starting up a sub-reddit and/or slack?

Hi, What are thoughts about changing the logo as part of the next update with the masternodes (on steroids)  Smiley
maybe a competition from community leading up to the next update?

So, what differentiate dark masternode and normal masternode? Also is the development still active? I read that there will be coin swap and you will replace the code base with the new one to fix all 8bit problem? Is it true? If its true, then i guess, it will be some kind of revolution then? Grin

1. No difference 2. Yes 3. Yes

Is there a working link to the latest wallet?

Sure:

Could anyone re-upload the wallets? All the links are down for me. Thanks.

Geez, people, relax!
I'll be back on Tue.
Links to wallets are published in the thread, you have to find them.
Current code base has masternodes (payments are not enforced), so new one has them (on steroids).

very hard to find a link to a wallet , a working link i mean

Here it is, guys: https://mega.nz/#!LhMQmAQC!wZoZm9fsk1NGm2H4vsbBVx2XZXyxKm50HZWfCSYUAz4
I believe that is the latest Windows wallet version 2.1. Have also 2.0 if anyone needs Smiley

Will upload blockchain shortly. It is pretty big and will take longer.
