Congratulations to the AUR team for successfully implementing multi-algo PoW! I first mined a very small amount of Auroracoin in early 2014, blindly stumbled into selling it at almost the exact peak of that first big pump, and then bought some more recently after it seemed like the project was on track.

Always been a fan of the country coin idea, and it seems like Iceland is as close to perfect an environment for one to succeed as you could hope for.

Any info about how to solo-mine different algos?
It seems thee is 1 pool for myr-gr and no pools so far for skein and qubit?
And everyone else is solo mining?

Any info about how to solo-mine different algos?
It seems thee is 1 pool for myr-gr and no pools so far for skein and qubit?

zpool.ca multi mines qubit and myr-gr, but they where a bit slow to enable it. With the problems on aurpool, I started solo mine different algos, albeit a bit late since I was out when block 250,000 was hit. Once zpool enabled AUR, huge amounts of qubit hash was rented from nicehash and the difficulty climbed very quickly. Nicehash don't do myr-gr rent, so even now, the difficulty whilst high is still profitable. Skein quite quickly looked quite difficult, I don't know whether it is FGPA farm territory, or the difficulty/hash rate ratio is different.

To solo mine set up the following in your auroracoin.conf. algo can be set at sha256, scrypt, qubit, skein or groestl. Luckily the wallet has not had the getwork protocol removed yet (like the latest MYR wallet), so non GBT miners such as sgminer and ccminer can use it. If you want to run multiple wallets for each algo, run it with the -datadir switch and change the port numbers so they don't clash. Use the myr-gr algo to mine groestl.

Code:
listen=1
server=1
upnp=1
rpcuser=youruser
rpcpassword=yourpwd
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcport=12341
port=12340
algo=qubit

and then point your miner against the wallet:

Code:
ccminer -a qubit -d gtx680 --show-diff -o http://127.0.0.1:12341 -u youruser -p yourpwd

Thanks.
So 1 wallet per algo?! Weird.. I think in Saffron (first to use 5 algo chain), one could mine vs single wallet with all supported algos :/

Aaaaand... which wallet is latest? the one from http://auroracoin.is/?

From a marketing angle the target of this initial (yes there will be more to follow) campaign is to create a cognitive relation towards the brand before it gets exposed by the media. So, it's not there to "sell" anything but rather to make the brand (logo and name) real to the people. This means they subconsciously recognize the brand after this campaign as something they have seen in real life, rather than a thing that has been posted on the internet.

We think that by putting up this massive real life add campaign, we create a sense of reality, thus trust to the media exposure we are going to get a week later. No need for any call to action at that stage.

I always thought MYR was the first multi-algo coin. You can always close down the wallet and change the algo line if you don't want to mine more than one algo at once.  I am using wallet version v2016.03.1.0-g354c0f3-beta, I'd look for it from that website first as I think that is the official one.

Marketing is more AUR bread and butter. Development is secondary but aslong as it works. Mainstreamers don't care about mining.

People accessing the development branch in the github repo, be cautious of using this, it can potentially result in loss of coins.

Bittrex has fallen off the network once again.

Edit: Fixed.

Transaction confirmation times are certainly looking better after the multi algo switch.

The wallet is up to version v2016.04.1.0 but the only change from 03 > 04 was a bug fix that occurred during import of paper wallets. Beside that nothing has changed.

The latest wallets will always be available on http://auroracoin.is which is the official site.

There will be an english site as well but it's still being worked on and we hope to open it soon.

Cool. I'll update once the algo profitabilities have normalised. So far, I think I've solo mined enough AUR to experience this!

Well I could definitely advice anyone who hasn't been here to have a visit. The attractions just depend on what you are really looking for. If you like to have something different to eat while here you should eat a sheep head and some rotten shark. Smiley

We gave the dutch guys some rotten shark when we were there for a visit the other day and it seems that they felt so violated that they have buried the memory so deep that they claim they have no recollection of this fine cuisine.

So if that doesn't shout out "I really like to try that shit" then I don't know what will.

Super! I'll find you a nice fat looking ammonia smelling piece of rotten shark and we'll see where fate takes us from there.
