Seems to be some agreement that PR will only start once we have bitcoin nodes up on testnet.
Any other thoughts?

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in
Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it
will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Try to access the hyperlinks of the old discussion(some of them do not work), this is one of the reasons for developing a new wire.

Running a bitcoin node on one hosted SPR ServiceNode should generate ~$5 / month profit at current SPR prices. With SPR @ $1.01 ( ), each Bitcoin node should earn around $70/month profit - 100 ServiceNodes at this rate and you can give up work. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1_h-vf1YOjXT9B1ELiOuRh8GG0OmsxSVwqwpEeJLcjIY/edit#gid=1994079775Thanks to @defunctec for the source spreadsheet which I have edited a little. edit This is before any share of revenue from data mining - just share of block rewards at 30%

Running a bitcoin node on one hosted SPR ServiceNode should generate ~$5 / month profit at current SPR prices.
what am I missing? 30 percent of a block reward payout of 5.89 at an average of 1.5 payouts/day for 30 days= ~80 spr per node per month. .00008000*80=.0064 btc or around $1.50 month. If your vps costs $10, your earnings would be negative 8.50/month.

I was also thinking after posting that we need to factor how many service nodes would be around as block rewards are phased in

The spreadsheet will have to be updated, and a cheaper VPS needs to be found. Coins, didn't you find a VPS which cost $35 a year? 35/12=2.91, making the loss only $1.40. SPR would need to double in marketcap for SN's to be profitable/breakeven.
