for those interested, I'm debating hosting both a co-op master node and a hosted master node.
In the Co-Op MN agreement, we'll need 10 groups of 500ea to host a shared MN, payouts will be monthly and evenly distributed to the co-op members. If there is enough interest, we can do multiple co-ops each with their own 10 members.
For the straight hosted MN, you'll provide 100% of the 5K BUCKs needed for deposit and a % of the dividends will be paid back to me for hosting.
If you're interested, let me know, also check out my reputation and trust info. Please hit me up with any questions.

Just wanted to let everyone know that the first (that I know of) Gorillabuck Gorillaband Co-Op is now active. I created a new thread and will report daily earnings along with any Q&A that arises from the thread. You can follow the new thread here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1107588.msg11778147#msg11778147 Cheers, baldpope

So much material to sift through. My question probably already answered. Is it true that I can lock my wallet up and my GB will still work?
Jury is out on that but my personal belief is that you need to have it "unlocked for staking" for it to operate properly. Others would say you just need to unlock it the one time when its started though. OK, I guess that setting is secure enough. Would getting a better router help with my connections? I have only 8, but I think the problem is on my end because none of my wallets have any more than 13 connections.

Screw it, why not... really want to be able to do this and it has to be possible in some respect since IGS brought it up but can't seem to clarify in the way he originally meant. Snippet: You can auto-launch with walletpassphrase BOUNTY TIME !!! 50 bucks to the FIRST correct solution to the linked post in this thread ! https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1059159.msg11765543#msg11765543You have to put the RPC config in your conf file: rpcuser=user rpcpassword=password rpcallowip=127.0.0.1 rpcport=3333
Then you make your call using curl like this: curl --data-binary '{"jsonrpc": "1.0", "id":"curltest", "method": "walletpassphrase", "params": [" <yourwalletpassword>", 99999, true] }' -H 'content-type: text/plain;' http:// <rpcuser>: <rpcpassword>@127.0.0.1:3333 Please send them to this stealth address: cYBjoey3EfezH2qJDekP4QHiB6zhEykt2BifBVcGgET3GPDbRFsSsxjNg9XXaR2ywzfnnQwvbqkJoRZ pjiHCLYe7UCTot36TMTB1jb Gracias Edit: And double Gracias because I learned something new today Edit2: ["<yourwalletpassword>", 99999, true] 99999 : timeout true : for staking only Probably shoulda mentioned this is on a windows machine but I can't get this to work even using a batch file. Might just have to give up on this little endeavor. You start the wallet and AFTER the wallet is running you execute the curl command. You do have to install curl on windows. And create a scheduled task to run after boot. Give a little time like 5 mins. And that should do it. Edit: And obviously, if you have more than one wallet running , your RPC port should be different for each wallet. Still haven't tried it yet, or know if I will even end up using it if I do try and get it to work as I'm looking at diff ideas. One of which involves a Linux install to which I keep trying to find out from IGS if we will get one. That being said... regardless of whether it does or doesn't work, I went ahead and sent the 50. I assume you have done the usual checks, firewall settings of OS/router, port forwarding ?

I'm not looking to compile something I can screw up and I'm actually failing to see how that can help me with BUCKS and wanting a linux distro like you can download from bitcoin.org and other sites with linux distros already avail.

I assume you have done the usual checks, firewall settings of OS/router, port forwarding ? All I've done is open up the proper ports in the virtual server on my router. The router is like 5 or 6 years old...I have allowed private connections in my firewall but not public connections for my wallets with my OS firewall. Am I supposed to allow public connections?

Make sure your Band is still listed on the Network.
Edit: If not listed in network, delete and create a new one with one click on Create Local.

How to check that and if it is listed, do I have to transfer all my coin to that address?

How to check that and if it is listed, do I have to transfer all my coin to that address? in your wallet click on the GorillaBands tab, then GorillaBand Network. Look for your band. When you setup your band the 5000 coins are sent to a collateral address automatically. It is really just a one click on the Create Local that is located in the My GorillaBands tab. The collateral address will be listed under the MY GorillaBands tab. That is the address you will be looking for in the GorillaBands Network tab.

Two questions:
1. Anyone running a staking wallet and a Gorillabands wallet with the same number of coins in to see which is doing better in terms of takings?
2. Does it help with Gorillabands to have many inputs as well? or is that just for staking?
The underlying question is - I have an address with just over 5000 coins with about 1200 input because I spent a couple of hours transferring them over in tiny chunks (good thing I like music)....shall I set up a masternode or keep staking?
I was presuming that other people might have better stuff to do than transfer coins around in blocks of 5 so I might be staking more than most - seems to give me a reward about every hour (1-9 coins), sounds like maybe the master nodes are better at the moment?
I was going to grab another 5000 & compare myself but then the price jumped from 6000 to 24000...
Thanks
GorillaBands, when setup, move all the coins to the collateral address in one chunk, destroying all your split times Ok thanks. Well I'll leave the wallet staking then, since I spent time splitting the inputs, and I'll see about getting together another 5 grand for a Gorillaband... The only thing I know how to do with coin control is check your inputs -and the number of inputs for my account seems to be going down - because every time I stake, some gets put in a block of 50 where they were previously in 5's and 2's. Is there a way to change this behaviour? Also any reports on masternode profits? At the moment looks like I'm getting a return of about 100 coins per day by staking 5000. Would a masternode bring in more? Thanks
