A Sia Classic would need to build their own wallet, but don't expect much value from such coins for years if ever.
Sia Classic, really? I have not known about this one. Can you give me more information about Sia Classic, please. In addition, in my opinion, 'classic' coins ususally fall further behind non-classic coins.

which wallet will support Sia Classic after the fork?
for SC we have to upgrade to the last one, I got that, will Sia Classic use some of the earlier SC version of the wallet or they bill make their own new wallet (UI)?
A Sia Classic would need to build their own wallet, but don't expect much value from such coins for years if ever. The SIA Classic is going to suffer to gain traction and community support IMO, what is drivig people now is greed, why do we need another chain when the community decided this is what we want, community support is very strong for SIA and I don't think anyone would like to trade his/her SIA coins for SIA Classic.

This may not work, but it will happen (again, sorry to say) brad

I don't do mining but holding good chunk of Sia since long time. It looks like people are facing troubles in post hard fork era and it may take some time for everyone to be on the same chain talking about miners. Even isn't my business but still read the guide for miners which was released few hours ago to understand what is being discussed and guided for miners to make idea about the situation.

This thread looks interesting. An online /cloud storage which is basically not offline but stored on someone space. Can I get an update of what disc coin has to offer the world not just the crypto space or trading it on exchanges. I meant the real use case of siacoin.

no you don't, if you understand blockchain then you should not ask this question all old coins on your wallet (time when a fork happen will always be on all chain after a fork) the day you wanna move your coins, you will need the correct wallet sync on the right chain and if you hold sia's for longer time don't forget to claim your hyperspace coin, as that fork already happened

one thing that i was thinking, is that the fork will maybe give some high light to siacoin. in fact, siacoin is showing that bitmain are in a real control of most part of coins. for 1 rig sold they can do 9 more for them self.... they mine and sell inefficient machine that are obsolete at the time you receive it. read this 2 article, very interresting: https://blog.sia.tech/the-state-of-cryptocurrency-mining-538004a37f9bhttps://medium.com/gobytenetwork/siacoin-developer-asics-are-money-printing-machines-for-manufacturers-b7ea3cb9a0ffi mean, i saw dgb plunging at 17sat then moon above 2000sat... i mean dgb is a really Sh*** project with every time big realise, big partnership, dgb fast, soon to 1$ and this sine the begging, i know i was in since first day (sorry for dgb sect groups) blablabla i mean... Siacoin is a real project, you see that they want change the rules for a better crypto world...

In the upcoming Sia hard fork, Poloniex will support the chain preferred by the Sia core team. Poloniex do not plan to support Sia Classic at this time. Poloniex plan to pause deposits and withdrawals starting at 3:00 AM UTC on October 31st, and re-enable once the network stabilizes. https://twitter.com/Poloniex/status/1056968983453335552

as I understand things I would have after the hardfork all my coins on both chains. the will be accessible with the same passphrase/ key ... the one I use now ... no matter which version my wallet is upgrated to Is this correct?
THX for answering!

Back to Basics.
How goes the decentralized anonymous cloud storage network that siatech wants to make and compete with Amazon Cloud at 10c to the $1 at Amazon Cloud rates?
1) Can you build a rig that will make a profit on cloud storage under siatech yet?
2) How is the interface for the user, or does it still suck?
3) Any other comments on the projects progress
Any siacoin of any fork...sia obelisk fork or sia classic fork or whatever will all eventually depend on this vision being successful. Otherwise siacoin of any flavor
is all 'smoke and mirrors' and will be essentially worthless.

Hey. Where are the miners for the new algorithm?
At the same place as ever, of course: https://obelisk.tech/If you don't want one, you can go buy 1000 RX580 cards for the same hashing power and ask Clamore to add support to his software miner
