Post fork we all should expect this, now we should focus on growing adoption of the decentralised storage platform, that is the key to success in the long run, not short-term mining profits.

ok tried 2x to install siacoin wallet

both times the seed comes up ok but I get a black screen under password that will not let me type in anything

when I move my mouse etc away from this blank black area...the seed shows up again also in password area

so unless you have to put the password in as the seed again w/o any feedback just **** guessing as spaces between words I'm stumped...

it will not show anything but a big blank black area under password and if I move the cursor from the mouse over that it shows the seed

but will not allow me to delete or do anything in that area for input in the password area

weird as heck tried 2x w/o any luck

(anyone know a legit paper wallet for siacoin? also I'm stupid (obviously read above) so nothing like a build from github or some such..yech...

so seed is fine..wrote it down....go to put in password under password shows blank black screen put cursor on blank black screen shows seed

does ot allow input....if you move on it asks for password like you put it in ..which you did not (unless the weird seed effect under password comes under effect)

again what am I missing

using  windows 10 64 on an alienware laptop ..again this is 2nd full install with same results

later

Old Style Legacy Plug & Play BBS System. Get it from www.synchro.net. Updated 1/1/2021. It also works with Windows 10 and likely 11 and allows 16 bit DOS game doors on the same Win 10 Machine in Multi-Node! Five Minute Install! Look it over it uninstalls just as fast, if you simply want to look it over. Freeware! Full BBS System! It is a frigging hoot!:)

I don't see anything on the SiaClassic site about a snapshot/airdrop, anyone know what's happening on that side?

Also, as a point of discussion...given that SIA's cloud storage usage is currently at a fraction of the available capacity, doesn't creating four branches water down the market even more?

Sure download the wallet and claim you coins. More info on their website: https://siaclassic.org/

It was quite difficult to see from 4 satoshi to 80 satoshi, but I don't think that was a difficult thing for Siacoin, so far they had good records on the exchange.

I think that this coin will be able to cope with all difficulties and bring investors a very good profit in the near future. But now everything goes down. Sad

Well, developing company will "earn" on short track with Obelisks, but loose heavy on long with this fork. Obelisk miners will continue to dump till earnings per day normalize for ASIC (5$ a day?) from starting 100$ per day. Prepare Your bags/wallets for discounted SIA.

Basically this fork caused sia to become centralized you cant buy a miner and the people who are selling them on Ebay want 4000 I dont see how this fork benefited anyone but the sia team, obelisk and the few batches of miner they sold

Well ..equipment is out..obelisk only

Siacoin is plugging along at whatever price like other cryptos it is dipping down in price again today....like again all crypto

so ....the last point

how goes the decentralized anonymous cloud storage network that is supposed to compete with Amazon Cloud at 10c to the $1 coming?

not hearing a lot on that....and in that is what will determine Siacoin's ultimate fate....kinda should be a topic on this thread huh?

Some thoughts?

1) is it worth building a box for storage to use this system yet for above...or is it still too expensive to build a box from new parts to do such for the return?

2) how are the interfaces for both the wallet and the above box?

3) other concerns/thoughts or breakthroughs?

From the POV of users of the P2P storage product the situation has improved considerably if nebulous is in better shape, long term dev support of the sia network is much more important than mining centralisation.

Before I have entered my seed in SCC  I moved SC to a completely mew SC wallet v1.3.7 on a new virtual machine
So, there is no way any hack can happen to you SC
Simple as that

Sia classic is a lie. did everything according to the instructions. introduced the seed in version 1.3.4. at the time of the fork, the coins were on the wallet 1.3.7. Sia is a classic no one does not charge 1: 1. scam
