Worst mistake you did with Bitcoin?

My worst mistake was not with bitcoin but with bitcoin ecosystem.
I stayed with faucets for long time for making bitcoin. I tried CPU mining with alt coins in mean time. Now I realized I have wasted almost 2 years without actively participating in this forum.

What's the worst mistake you did with your Bitcoin? It can vary from starting to use Bitcoin to buying dumped Altcoin to gambling.

The worst mistake I made with Bitcoin is... Buying cloud mining hashrate. I bought 0.02 GH/s CEX.IO hash rate voucher at SEOClerk for $2 USD - or maybe $1 USD. I thought with 0.02 GH/s, I would be making a profit in half a year.. And I was wrong.

Well, I bought using the free five dollars coupon. So that does not count as making a mistake with Bitcoin. However, the slow profit lead me to buying hashing power from CEX.IO and later on.. ZeusHash using the Bitcoin I earned from signature campaign.. Again, I thought I would be making profit in a few months. Till today, I'm sure I have not make any profit from both the company yet. CEX.IO stopped their cloud mining operation and.. ZeusHash.. What do you think.?

I made a post in the beginning of thread telling that my big mistake doing with bitcoin was investing in clod hashing mining. And gave even amounts of my mistakes. Well. Today I can finally be sure that my big mistake made with bitcoin is another one about which I was not sure that was lost (in the form of bitcoin) since these days when everything is decided. It was an investment made with 12 bitcoins in one anonymous investment fund created by a website. Was three years ago and bitcoin was bought for about 40-50 us dollar one. So 12 bitcoin seems nothing. Add here the fact I was just known with it and everyone can have all the picture of that situations. The bitcoins of the fund were stolen all but the owners of the website offered as a compensation way the value of bitcoin invested in the time of investment. So I had some money from these bitcoins but if I had those now there it will be another story. Everyone make stupids thing in life. This maybe is the biggest (or for sure one of the biggest) i have made. Even there was newbie with it and were unfamiliar (can be told even ignorant) regarding its importance. But what is gone, is gone. Must see ahead.

Yeah me too if I started Januari 2013 that I have now more than 5K worth of bitcoins.
Oh well we have the future everything can happen. I wish in the future will be more higher.

Not buying back in 2009. I remember I saw some news about it in around that year, or maybe 2010, the thing is it was really, really cheap, but it was so primitive that I still had no clue in how to get them and became lazy with the idea of researching if further.

I can't considered that as wrong mistake honestly because you have no clue at all and you can't say what will happen in the future.

The much worst is if you already holds lot of bitcoins back in 2009 and you lost it all accidentally.

Well I think that is not part of your mistake but your regret to not involve with bitcoin sooner, the late you realized that bitcoin has gain popularity and has increase to potential this year and I think It will still go up even more! I have just recently got involve in bitcoin too and I am really thankful to my friend who introduced me in this industry!

That is true. We learn from what we risk. Some mistakes are already done. Better stand up again and gain the lost. Some stops after being scammed but some grows because of their mistakes they are more experienced now.

Actually for some people who invested to those ponzis site including scrypt.cc, still they didn't learned and decided to continue to invest in other HYIP/ponzis companies out there like the recent famous system of doubling of shit bitcoins in a matter of short term. It's fine for a risk taker but Im really annoyed to see some crybabies after some of that companies collapses.

Well people still get scammed even they are legendary of they know bitcoin very good or they start bitcoin in year 2013 they still get scammed.
Like in black friday people was using there signature cmapaign and none got paid so that is just sad if you don't get paid, but true you can learn your mistakes.

Well if everyone in here thought everything is a scam new companies would never be able to flourish because no one would fund them. We can't let the scammers ruin the funding of legitimate ventures by imposing fear. Of course im not saying go and invest on any random shit, but some stuff is worth putting your money at.

2 - Don't save some of my private keys, then send to their addresses by mistake and lose bitcoins forever

Well if everyone in here thought everything is a scam new companies would never be able to flourish because no one would fund them. We can't let the scammers ruin the funding of legitimate ventures by imposing fear. Of course im not saying go and invest on any random shit, but some stuff is worth putting your money at.

Look like you missed my point.

You can see that the company is a ponzi but not everyone are aware of that or should I say there are amazed of the high returns that the site if offering that's why they are blinded by the truth. Like you said, you will not say go always in that kind of system but how about for others. They didn't have a same stand like you. The point here is others attract easily for that kind of returns then eventually they will cry like a babies after a failed operation of that site for a short time.

Something's not adding up; you either were amung the very first adopters, or you simply threw away atleast 10$ at the time, which i don't see why anyone would do.
How ever it may be, there's way worse cases than your's; i reckon people who threw btc that wasn't worth much at the time feel way better than those who bought in
at around 1200 and sold at 250, because they lost their stake, not just possible profit. I'm not amung them, but i know few people that did this, insane.

It was about 30 to 40 total worth if BTC at the time(If I remember correctly).  I thought it was just going to tank and go nowhere and I had no real easy to convert it to fiat at the time. So I just deleted it.  I had no money invested, just time generating it.  No big loss to me(or so I thought).

The worst mistake by far was to place coins on Mt.Gox, I learnt from that mistake and no longer leave a larger number of coins on exchanges.

So far I've bought a huge share of an altcoin which is being constantly dumped. It's my fault since I didn't know the whole market is heavy manipulated and features or projects don't matter at all, just the will of the few who pull the strings. Hopefully I can dump my share soon when the price is pumped again. I advise anyone new to not mess around with what you don't know. I also gain a lot of profit but you are one bad trade away.

And no, you don't have to know anything about it, this is not the stock market, the coin could be amazing and new features can be announced and it will still drop 10 times in value in a week. Unless you have some inside info from pump groups or whales, don't crypto trade.
