Yes I have ever made a mistake with the coins. The first day i was able to trade and got a good return in the coins. My friend invited me to an event which ended up me spending all the coins I head just to purchase unworthy food stuffs for the visitors that were present. It hit me thereafter that the coins that I have spend time and resources were all gone. It however taught me a great reason, to always be careful with every coin that I own. Investing where there are no returns is a forbidden rule to me.

Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

my worst mistake was investing my BTC in inscrypt.cc
You can learn from your mistakes. And don't try that again

That is true. We learn from what we risk. Some mistakes are already done. Better stand up again and gain the lost. Some stops after being scammed but some grows because of their mistakes they are more experienced now.

Well people still get scammed even they are legendary of they know bitcoin very good or they start bitcoin in year 2013 they still get scammed.
Like in black friday people was using there signature cmapaign and none got paid so that is just sad if you don't get paid, but true you can learn your mistakes.

because they are in urge to acquire new bitcoin no matter in what way, in the future bitcoin will be very hard to acquire, so it's better to try every method now, even if it is risky

personally i'm not falling anymore at those ponzi and hyip and shit like that, i ignore all of them now, actually i'm ignoring every form of investment, because they are like 99%99 scam

So far I've bought a huge share of an altcoin which is being constantly dumped. It's my fault since I didn't know the whole market is heavy manipulated and features or projects don't matter at all, just the will of the few who pull the strings. Hopefully I can dump my share soon when the price is pumped again. I advise anyone new to not mess around with what you don't know. I also gain a lot of profit but you are one bad trade away.

And no, you don't have to know anything about it, this is not the stock market, the coin could be amazing and new features can be announced and it will still drop 10 times in value in a week. Unless you have some inside info from pump groups or whales, don't crypto trade.

I've been there and I have done that as well! Fortunately, I have made much more money in successful trades than in unsuccessful. But with my last investment, I have lost almost 3 BTCs and this has left a very bad taste in my mouth!

This is when I have stopped trading altogether!

Not buying back in 2009. I remember I saw some news about it in around that year, or maybe 2010, the thing is it was really, really cheap, but it was so primitive that I still had no clue in how to get them and became lazy with the idea of researching if further.

I can't considered that as wrong mistake honestly because you have no clue at all and you can't say what will happen in the future.

The much worst is if you already holds lot of bitcoins back in 2009 and you lost it all accidentally.

Same situation here. Nobody knew that bitcoin had the potential that it's showing right now and the potential we all believe right now. Now we can all speculate and predict on how high it will be in the future.

As most of us here, the worst mistake was selling bitcoin for a cheaper price including me too, i am covering the loss but it is taking too long. Hope in the near future the bitcoin price will be much higher than now.

I read about the pizza story a couple of years ago I think it was when bitcoin was about $10 and thought, 'Well, that's neat I wish I knew about this earlier. I must have missed out.'  I forgot all about it until recently when I came across an article about the deep web and Silk Road and began looking at it more closely.  I'm just getting into it now and accumulating a little just in case this has the potential I think it does. I don't want to make the same mistake twice.

I once sent bitcoins to a wrong address. It was not a big amount (0.05 btc) but I felt terrible. After that i decided to check the first 5 and last 5 digits on every transaction.
Luckily it didn't occur after that.

I gambled it.... And I lost every time, obviously.

But now I realise that there is no point of gambling. That's why I stopped.

Worst thing I done with bitcoin which is not as bad or as much as some. I went through a faze of losing on every alt coin I invested in, within a year I had lost around 10btc. That may not be much to some but to me that was a very large amount! On the plus side I learned a lot and now I am scraping the losses back slowly.

Sad to hear that.

But anyways, I didn' know that wallet can be deleted?* Hows that?  Huh

My worst mistake was not buying a couple of months ago. I kept holding off because I thought that the price would drop further down to around $100 something but it didn't

So you think back in couple of months ago, bitcoin price will down to around $100? lol. How come do you think of that scenario??

I think it was in the early 2011's when I gave 1.8 BTC (about 15$ at the time) for a copy of Arma 2. If I had just saved them and sold at 1500$. That would have been so many months of rent now.

Another mistake was when I sold my ASIC miner for 0.61 BTC (about 150$ at the time, I think it was in february 2014) and sold the 0.61 BTC when the bitcoin price rised to 300$ each. If I had waited just two months, I would have got 600 extra bucks.

However, you cant predict the future and neither is it good to hold on to something for too long.

Gambling with it

Even though I used the satoshi I made with faucets, it's still a loss for me

It takes longer to collect all the satoshi but I lost them pretty fast.

I've heard of people gambling with their faucet satoshi and lost. It is a really sad thing as collecting a millions of satoshi will take a lot of time. And they just lost it in less than a minute. Be careful next time.

Worst mistake I did with bitcoin is not careful from getting scammed.
Although I just lost few dollars, I can't believe a scammer had deceived me to buy a misspell domain through PM.

You just can't trust even the ranked users these days.

Hmm. I wonder what domain did he/she cheat you to buy?

i clearly can remember my worst mistake that i ever did with my bitcoins i sent a pretty huge amount of coins to the wallet i accidentally deleted and my bitcoins were lost forever now i usually double check the addresses where i send my bitcoins in order to avoid such things

There is a lot of stories like yours in this thread. Just be careful next time when sending huge amount of Bitcoin. I have never send to the wrong address. Even if I used QR code to scan an address... I also check the address again at my phone to make sure the QR code is the right one.

Good that you joined the Bitcoin community this year. You are not late yet. You have still plenty of time to collect Bitcoin. As I always say, we are still consider early adopters - Bitcoin is just a little over six years old. Smiley.

I think it was in the early 2011's when I gave 1.8 BTC (about 15$ at the time) for a copy of Arma 2. If I had just saved them and sold at 1500$. That would have been so many months of rent now.

However, you cant predict the future and neither is it good to hold on to something for too long.

1.8 BTC for Arma 2 is indeed very expensive if we used today rates. Well, I actually also bought games when price is low. For example, I bought Just Cause 2 when Bitcoin price was ~300. If I buy them today I could have save some Bitcoin - BTC/400 USD.

You should have hold onto the 0.61 BTC for sometime before selling them. Hmm. All you did wrong was buying and selling when the price is very unstable. :/.

So sad! This profile does not appear as the #1 result (on anonymous) Google searches anymore.

Time to be active on the crypto forums again? Proud to be one of the few Legendary members of the Sparkie Red Dot!

Gonna put this on my resume if I ever join a cryptocurrency/blockchain industry!

My biggest mistake - Bitshares - I still wonder how such a revolutionary system can have such a miserable price movement to nowhere but down. I guess I didn't comprehend elaberate get-rich-quick scheme by its creators. Nothing wrong with that, I just didn't do my part well.
