I guess at this time, there is some concern about the future of both subject if discussion because right now, the future seems blurry based on current happenings and its something we don't know when it will end or recover but for me, I would still choose bitcoin above Etheruem simply because of the level of adoption/penetration bitcoin has garnered over the years

I really believe in the Etherium, it's really ideological. Next year, the team will unload a huge set of updates and news. I believe that in 2018 ETH will cost about $ 1000.

Ethereum and bitcoins both are best crypto currencies in this market.I think both have good potential to go even more big.Ethereum is considerably new than bitcoins and are good but I don't think so that it could handle number of transactions that are done in bitcoins as it has few users. You can't say that ethereum is future and not bitcoins actually no one could say as in future any better crpyto currency might be developed. But currently bitcoins is far more ahead of ethereum to became future crypto.
Both does have the potential to grow and we've been seeing them to increase in good times and affected in bad times. I don't think that ETH is the future of crypto, it's just a follower of bitcoin and bitcoin is the original. Bitcoin is the future of crypto and though ETH has the smart contracts still bitcoin has whales of investors so I'm have a strong feeling that ETH will always be in the second spot.

i think your statement is wrong .. eth can't win .. but for the future altcoin i think eth can .. you can see if you compare bitcoin vs eth see the price is very different .. eth lose .. and see from users .. eth lose because bitcoin used in more website and big site like steam , amazon etc .. so if you want compare .. you mist compare alt vs alt .

Both will play their own role in the eco system. With the anount of attention bitcoin has got, its never going to give its No.1 position to any other coins in the near future.

ETH will allow $2T of underground economy to become more structured (and possibly less underground) through DAOs.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/wonkblog/wp/2013/04/23/americas-2-trillion-shadow-economy-is-the-recessions-big-winner/

If it captures 1% of that $2T, it is equivalent to $20B, which would put ETH somewhere around $150. Those who sell for $2 will shit bricks, eat sand and may even commit suicide in the years to come. If it captures 10% of that ETH will be $1500. I know it sounds crazy, but so did the Internet in 1995.

Once it's launched their main focus will be on scalability, which I think is the real reason crypto is not ready for mainstream. Once they can handle 100K TPS (and I'm sure they will), it's game over.

I think it's not objective or just opinion

I agree with you, Ethereum is very undervalued coin right now, and it will cost$ 1500 after half a year, but bitcoin is also good should not be thrown out with the bath.
I think both are still very important and valuable in the world of digital currency,
just look at the ethereum began to rise again the price

If the javascript community becomes a hint to ethereum, they will start integrating it with everything whether it makes sense or not. The Microsoft has done is saying hey we will let you install your ETH shit on our cloud services. I hope it's like what the ripple exchange has where you can make fast payments during this time

ETH and BTC coin have a good reputation , this two has a good value . This two coin has a important role in cryptocurrencies world.

Ethereum can never be compared to Bitcoin no more than any other "ICO token"

For me, bitcoin will always remain №1 currency. ETH is really popular currency, but it seems to me that all who will bet on a long period will lose their money. ETH laid in inflation and in the future it will lose its price.

Reading the beginning of this thread is interesting and made me pause and consider how products make it big. Obviously coins need to stand on their merit but someone mentions how eth had some strong advertising when it was new. It made me think about how a lot of times the best product doesn't necessarily win, it's the one that is easy to use/the one everyone has heard of.

Better not to compare the two, because as I understand both coins. They have different purpose or goal. Bitcoin aims to disrupt Paypal and online banking. Bitcoin is like a digital gold, offering a monetary system free from inflation and intervention of government. While Ethereum has the goal of using a blockchain to replace internet third parties - those that store data. In short, Ehtereum wants to be the World computer. Though Ethereum allows faster transactions than Bitcoin. But we cannot say that Ethereum is better in all aspect. Bitcoin will never be in the first place in coinmarketcap if its not better in all cryptos.

I guess Bitcoin will remain as an entry point to the crypto world as most wallets offer Bitcoin withdrawals and deposits as cash. And then ETH can be like the actual running force of crypto world with all the smart contracts and all. And all other coins in between.

Very well defined and a certain answer is elaborated. Bitcoin's generation nowadays is unstoppable now, that's why in coinmarketcap it gained it's leading marks as we can see in the updates of all cryptos. For me the future still depends with bitcoin, and I don't know why other people claimed that an ethereum altcoin will beat the odds of bitcoin. We shouldn't be easily be corrupted with negative rumors and gain confidence with bitcoin to rise more higher than before.

I don't really agree with you as I believe that Bitcoin is the most popular cryptocurrency available in the market right now. Ethereum is also a very good altcoin but I don't think that it will be able to replace Bitcoin soon in future.

If I was told to choose between ethereum better towards future crypto than bitcoin. I will choose both of them because they are instrumental in my life. on the other hand is very important because of the bitcoin with value pricing the higher the gold price likely will surpass the difficulties but I keep it because it is a long time to have luck but Ethereum did better in all aspects and Bitcoin there will always be in the first place in coinmarketcap better in all cryptos..
