It´s pretty much a forced line and theory. I couldn't find any alternatives where we would come out ahead on the exchanges. Black sacrifices a pawn for a lead in development. He gets initiative. It´s kind of double-edged for both sides which is why it often leads to enjoyable games. Which is good because truth to be told most chess games are pretty boring affairs. Makes sense, it does seem like the possibilities are getting close to being all mapped out taking the uncertainly away. Seems like it's more of a learn all the moves and counters rather than make them up. Maybe time to add a piece to the game!

Why would a queen be the most powerful piece? It´s ridiculous. Animals would be perfect. Dog, horse, cat, bear, tiger.Pawns are always pawns though.

It seems just changing outside pawns to move 1 or 2 anytime could completely change the game and throw some excitement back in for awhile. I'm easily bored.

There are some variants Hueristic, like arranging the pieces on the back ranks in a random manner. 960 chess and Fischer chess are two versions of that. Bughouse and more. I sometimes play Horde chess where one side has the standard setup and the other has 32 pawns. Or 34 maybe sometimes. Go to lichess.org and watch them play these most common variants. But classical chess is very much set in stone and unlikely to change fundamentally any time soon.

There is a fun variant called bughouse which most people prefer to play with a partner http://www.chess.com/chessopedia/view/bughouse-chess

So we "sacrificed" the pawn without getting an attack going cause we wasted one move for castling...
Anyway, I vote Bb7 to not waste even MORE time. please dont take his knight yet...or you will bring his rook into a position where we have to move our knight without making an attack

Yes unfortunately we did. We were the only two voters who opted not to castle. I will change my vote to keep things interesting. I think I like your style of play, so: Nxe5: 2 votes (hermesesus, galdur) Bb7: 2 vote (mammut, Morecoin Freeman)
