Bb7 makes no sense at all. It defeats the purpose of black´s gambit. White just plays Nf3 and is a good pawn up.

So we "sacrificed" the pawn without getting an attack going cause we wasted one move for castling...
Yes unfortunately we did. We were the only two voters who opted not to castle. I will change my vote to keep things interesting. I think I like your style of play, so: Nxe5: 2 votes (hermesesus, galdur) Bb7: 2 vote (mammut, Morecoin Freeman) Our pawn sacrifice is one of the more respected opening sacrifices for black at the GM level. It is far too early to panic! Play through some of the games from this line to see some of the possibilities. Our pieces are about to become active. Nxe5: 3 votes (hermesesus, galdur, languagehasmeaning) Bb7: 2 vote (mammut, Morecoin Freeman)

Magnus Carlsen (world# 1) blundered a piece! https://chess24.com/en/read/news/euro-teams-5-carlsen-hits-4-year-low

I can't recall him making a mistake that bad before (at least in a normal time control). He will still be a huge favorite over anyone he plays for the world championship but he has looked more beatable lately.

He will still be a huge favorite over anyone he plays for the world championship but he has looked more beatable lately. He keeps losing more and more the last time. If he keep playing like this i don't think you would still be a huge favorite tho. He needs to get back his form to play well. Just like Aronian. He is back on track. If he becomes the opponent of Carlsen it would be a great match.

The past days I read a lot about the Marshall Attack and I have to conclude you guys are doing great. I like the positions for black in this strategy.

http://The past days I read a lot about the Marshall Attack and I have to conclude you guys are doing great. I like the positions for black in this strategy. Well, black does gets whacked too in this variation. But I think he scores about 50% in database games which is a good result for the black side. Even if black´s attack runs out of steam and white keeps that extra pawn it´s often not enough to force a win. You could say, black has good prospects but a draw up his sleeve to fall back on if things go south.
