I have seen this game before. Good problem! In most rook endings active defense is the best option.
Based on your hint Ke6 seems likely to be the first move, but I am still trying to figure out the various possibilities to follow. |

The problem is, if we go for the weak b2 square for example, then our Queen is not active. We need our Queen into the play. With our Queen active, the weak b2 square is still there. Then we have queenside an kingside attack possibilities.
If we play 26. ... - Bd4, white also has options. Bd4 doesn't go away. And for the f7 square, even not defending it can be an option, with Kh8.
So, either we act, or with for example Bg6, Rc/d8 or Bd4 we give white a chance to become active. I think all our options are still there after g4, but now we also have direct attack-option.

I forgot to write: the e4 square is important for white's defense; with g4 we can do something about that.

Not sure why 28 Ne4 is a good move? White will be up a Rook for a pawn and cancels any threat with 29. Nxe4 I'm sorry g4 is game over in 2-3 moves. @XMRPromotions, no move yet, still thinking how white will attack at the moment. 2 votes g4 (Rolf Uhlhorn, funnyman21)
