dev why no work block explorer?

Looking at your post history, you might need to consider learning about something called patience. The issue is being resolved as we speak.

Can you please try with version 0.3.0. Do a removedb and then start v0.3.0. Binaries are on github. And if that does not help.. remove everthing in chaindata directory.. be careful just to del files in that dir. Do NOT touch keystore

With the old v0.3 all seems fine. Block 31 was passed without problems and the client is syncing now.

edit: Syncing successful, on block #216359 now.

Ok we will look into that. We have some theories

any news about this issue?

I think SHF is just in a moment of calm, where people dump on low price and leave losing BTC

It makes it easy to accumulate. Anyone dumping now is trying to short it or can't spot a good long term buy. Shorting might be smart, but it's not easy to tell where the bottom is.

My strategy is to avoid calling the bottom and to set fairly consistently sized small buys (valued in BTC, not SHF) no matter what the price. But I have been buying with more BTC as these dumps get bigger and the price drops.

people love to panic, issue is being taken care off, you could always pay for your own explorer if you like.

The issue is we just missed a payment to the site's admin. Since we are still careful what to spend premine on we have to wait a few days until we can pay in BTC instead of SHF.

It would mean a lot if the community wants to help out but we will get there eventually on our own too.

Kind regards

How much are you going to pay for this? You can leave BTC or SHF address here, so everybody can donate a small amount to maintain the block explorer.

I will be the first ones.

Please be transparent about everything. We want to know how much you are paying each month for this explorer.

In the meantime still catching these dumps IMO super cheap at the moment for an ETH clone,  dev team still around, and working hard its a no brainer.

Wow, I am really impressed with the response!

We agreed to pay Peter from Etherchain 0.2 BTC monthly or the equivalent in SHF. We had to pay a 2 month payment of 0.196 last week for the nodes which we had to cover from the premine, that is why I am trying to spend as little of it as we can.

Right now we have two options. If the community can collect the funds needed for the block explorer that would help very much. If not, we will pay for it as soon as possible, guaranteed, but that could be until next week.

Let us know what you think.

Are you trying too avoid using the premined coins?

I think I can add to that.. The team is not trying to avoid using the premine for important expenses in any way. However the SHF equivalent of 0.2 BTC every month at these prices will keep eating the development funds month after month. So by the time we may see higher values the premine will be diminished and we don't have much incentives to add new developers anymore.

We are still hesitant to call on the community for funding so we would like to ask if anyone wants to join us and work on our own full block explorer. We will not put a bounty up (as it didn't work out very well the last time) but we will promise to reward the contributor eventually Wink

The situation isn't optimal and we are trying to solve it as quickly as possible!
