7 -> Could not connect to http://127.0.0.1:53001

JSON-RPC problem. Probably couldn't connect. Retrying in 1...

_END PASTE

So my question is, it just sits in that loop - Could not connect.

Sure looks port related, but I have 53900 forwarded.

Can anyone think of a reason why it won't connect ?  It's allowed through the FW - even tested with FW off just to make sure.

I hope this problem helps someone else who might be experiencing the same thing.

Tim Miltz

53001 is the wrong rpc port. 53901 is The correct one. If You have problem with syncing.. add nodes manually. Its described in earlier posts.

That was it-

No more RPC connect curl error

I need to learn more about how these ports with using ethminer for another coin.

I was puzzled that I would be using ethminer,  thinking, hmm- wonder why it won't continue to mine ethereum if I use ethminer to mine Shift

Is it that Shift specifies a different port? than ethereum for mining?

That's a new question I suppose

I see it's building the DAG right now though

Thanks so much for your reply Shift Support

Why is volume so high and what does it mean?  Smiley

Most probably one guy is selling to himself. I just put a 56k sell order at 57, to find out if there is some real demand, I guess noone will buy.

Makes sense, that's also why the price is going up right? Cheesy

Your order is getting eaten btw, might remove that and try at 10k again Wink

Aaaaaand your sell got eaten. Guess you found out where the demand is. Less weak hands is always better.

Remember guys, you don't sell SHIFT before 100000. Cause that's where we're going!

Is Phantom the same as Mist?

Not exactly, there's no equivalent, because our way of functionning is different and divided in two parts (front end, back end), that allow 100% decentralized applications running locally and securely in your browser.

Phantom, the backend, has a more general purpose, it's decentralized web hosting, so think P2P sites. These sites are made with simple HTML5+CSS+JS. If you want to have an idea of what you can expect of it, watch a few videos about Zeronet on Youtube. Also, we won't just have Phantom running, we will reward users for running nodes! So that means a lot of support and willing people to host content for Phantom.

Our interface is ShiftHub, and it has a more versatile purpose than Mist, think App store, so you can expect really almost any kind of decentralized web application running locally on your computer, that means the GUI wallet, a block explorer, DApps, games or any useful applications you can imagine. Possibilities are endless.

This sounds better than LISK.

I do not think this coin can reach 100,000 sat unless it goes PoS. There are so many PoW coins created each day. So much selling of new coins. If this coin does go PoS... wow.. it could go to 1,000,000 sat. This is an Ethereum based coin so a DAO could be set up on SHIFT as well. SO many good things could happen here.

can this miner work on SOLO , i thought it only a pool miner , also i found there was a drop in ether mining  ,. and such a small increase for Decred .... although it free  coin not not really worth the mining fee  from claymore + the pool mining fee

Have been mining Shift for about four months now until the last few days. My rig keeps crashing now keep getting "thread stuck in device driver" running windows 10 I have tried everything I could think of to fix it with no luck so I uninstalled windows and reinstalled it and it worked fine for about 6 hrs and now i'm back to it crashing every 20 sec as soon as I start mining running 4  R 390x's for card's . Any help would be nice

We are currently looking into any possible cause for unexpected shutdowns and are testing a new release with some optimizations.

However, your issue sounds like the problem might be located somewhere on your end. Have you tried changing your settings to rule that out?

While we have an open request with Poloniex, we cannot comment on that.

Currently we are much more interested in getting listed on BitSquare and preferably one or more of the chinese exchanges.

Does it happen if you mine something else also? Your mining to a pool I suppose.

How about with 3, 2 or one card mining?

I don't know much about running GPU miners on windows myself but can suggest some things to check.

Also, you could check the thread or forum concerning the mining software you are using.

Since the problem has started recently, I would think about what changes there have been in the past few days
- software update? driver update
- change in GPU clock speed? Memory speed?
- Temperature change ? (affects power supplies and cooling)
- Possibly a power supply is starting to malfunction?
- Loose power connector

- also, see what kind of system information you can find while mining and not...
(eg, fan speeds, voltages) Could someone suggest good tools do do this for windows?

Marketplaces, social media, email, .. The possibilities are wide and we can potentially implement all of it in a decentralized, secure and encrypted environment.

Developments on the 0.1 alpha release are ongoing. Once the release is available to the general public, we will provide more detailed information what our plans going forward are.
