The block chain is the main innovation of Bitcoin. It is the first distributed timestamping system.

Thank you! It's just the beginning, really, so you can consider yourself an early adopter. Now that we have the infrastructure to build 100% decentralized apps, that's where the serious things begin.

Hey I was wondering how you guys were able to port forward port 15441 for phantom. When i execute ./StartPhantom.sh i am able to initialize the Phantom database, but when i go to 127.0.0.1:53903 in my browser i get a 'Not Found' page. Going into my debug.log it is asking me to port forward 15441 but i am unable to do so with iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -p udp --dport 15441 -j REDIRECT --to-port 80. Any help would be appreciated Smiley

Hello. You do not need to forward any ports just for browsing. If you should run a full node, e.g. people can sync and download the websites that you in turn have synced you need to open the ports. But for now you do not have to care about that.

We will fix a default redirection from "/" to http://localhost:53903/1CQTfYmebR1bP75PCUata417NffWyL6AXf/ which is the ShiftHub address.

Kind regards

I have been mining this coin...looks good...but your explanation and introduction of a non GUI wallet to this 'shifthub' thing is completely confusing...now qt wallet (1.5.1) is not supported?? Ah, your team does realize that if you want folks to use your coin/platform..it must be something easy to install, understand, and use...THIS IS NOT IT!  It is a confusing mess of computerese lingo so hard to follow, only an IT major from MIT can make sense out of it. For the sake of 'us' basic miners...could you offer a very clear and simple step by step instruction on how to set the new wallet up?? Call me stupid...fine...but humor me with simplicity. I don't need 'lingo' to see how brilliant your guys are...just simple to understand basic setup instructions without reference to 'code', port forwarding...and all that stuff that 99% of people who will ever use a virtual currency or platform will understand, or they'll drop it like a rock.

...I downloaded that 'bundle'...who in the world could understand that mess of computer crap except a developer?? If you guys don't clearly explain how to set it up without such a foolish package of unexplained nonsense...I for one am dumping your coin...sorry...

Anyway, this is an alpha release, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Software_release_life_cycle. That means, you should not use this version if you do not know what a tray icon is. This version is for testers and those who feel ready to help us out with error reporting.

That being said, please check the tray icon, it should be there after that black window (called the command prompt) closes. Click the tray icon..

Hi Atomjuice,

we apologize for the confusion, if you look a few posts back we stated this:

To start using Phantom, simply download the bundle, extract and run Phantom.cmd. This will
launch the Phantom engine, which you can access via ShiftHub  in your local browser by clicking
the newly created icon in your system tray.

Should you have any problems starting or accessing your funds please let us know either here or
in our slack.

However we did not properly update the first page and thus really appreciate your feedback while we are sorting through the teething problems associated with alpha software.

We are already working on an updated first post that guides users through the setup process and gives extended information about Phantom, what it is and what it can do.

If anyone has any further problems and questions, don't hesitate to let us know. The majority of team members are here almost round the clock to support the community during this transition Smiley

Edit: The notice about the old GUI wallet being "unsupported after the recent release just means it will not be developed anymore. It is still working at this time but we prefer if users switch to ShiftHub rather sooner than later Smiley

UPDATE JUL 01: PHANTOM ALPHA RELEASED

We are incredibly pleased to announce PHANTOM 1.1a & SHIFTHUB 0.1a.

This release covers our long awaited Phantom & Shifthub Alpha versions, along with our first
flagship application, a new wallet interface accessed via ShiftHub.

We hope this release furthers understanding of our vision among the community, as this is only
the beginning. Future releases expand on this technology, where you locally access Phantom in
a secure manner and employ ShiftHub for all the things outlined in previous posts.

Since both Phantom and Shifthub are in alpha stage, we appreciate if users report possible bugs
or user experience issues.

Nice update. I'm looking forward to this cool stuff.

I was wondering if any of you guys have had any luck buying 1+ btc worth of shift. Livecoin and bittrex both have very low liquidity and won't fill an order. Has anyone had any luck buying large amounts of shift on bitsquare?

liquidity is not due to the fact that the market is not the players, there's only miners and all the relative amount is for the purchase price in the region of 1000-1500 Satoshi above is a trifle. at the moment the complexity and network capacity increases and today production is almost equal to the cost of expenses.
in a glass on Bitrix, we see volume 1kk coins for sale, it is almost all that is the decentralization of the coins, the rest is 3kk developers and 3kk in the hands of the most Bitrix than she actually cranking the volume in recent weeks. without the support of the market is very bad. price slowly goes down due to the fact that the miners simply sell coins and it does not matter what will happen, only a few people collect coins for the future. Many coins have good people on the market, which is engaged in the market and support for the market value of the coins, in order to maintain its relevance. In order for the project came a lot of money, we need a normal density in the glass (the liquidity and volume of coins) as well as for half the price of Bitcoin flies prices -60% is bad

Nothing to worry about. We have promotional plans that are very innovative in their approach, and that will allow Shift to be known outside of the bitcoin sphere.
Moreover, more and more people are interested in making Dapps for Shift, even though it's too early to announce anything at this point.
