Yes I know Osimhen performed much better than Lukaku last season. Even in the 2022-23 season Osimhen performed brilliantly. Osimhen scored 26 goals and one assist in the 2022–23 season. And Lukaku scored only 10 goals. So in all statistics Osimhen is ahead of Lukaku. However, Conte's favorite player is Lukaku. Napoli management keep Lukaku in their squad. Lukaku might be can recognized as flop player in Chelsea because on that team Lukaku never able to playing consistent but in my opinion when loaned to Inter Milan and Roma Lukaku performance is quite impressive even in Roma he is top scorer of this team on Europa league so what i want to says is Lukaku is suitable to playing in Serie A and everytime he was playing at this competition although with different clubs but his performance is quite stable so might be this is the main factor why Conte want him instead of Osimhen

You are right maybe Conte has a big plan with Lukaku, but I am not sure if relying on Lukaku alone everything will be fine. I mean if Conte really has a good plan for Napoli, he should think long term to keep getting contribution from a professional player. As we often talk here if in the long term Osimhen is more beneficial for Napoli than Lukaku, but the problem is there is a problem behind it all that makes Napoli have to sell and do not want Osimhen to stay in the team. In the next 10 games we will see how Lukaku performs and how Napoli performs with the players that Conte expects. If everything looks bad, it seems like Napoli will not be easy to compete for success this season.

Because his brightest season was the 2020/21 and he scored 24 goals back then. If it weren't for Ronaldo he could have been the top scorer. Honestly I feel quite sad when I see these two strikers changing each other in the match because both are quite great in my opinion and have a good track record, when one is useless and sees only a few weaknesses for the coach then of course it will not be used even though their abilities are almost the same.
