It's indeed disturbing that the current bundesliga table toppers are finding it difficult to beat 11th placed Augsburg and even though they've got more of the ball possession and shots on goal, nothing has yet been converted and this goes to show how much Victor Boniface is been missed. Bayer Leverkusen by now would have scored a goal or two in the first half, with the Nigerian striker having his name in the score sheet for either scoring or assisting, but it looks like they've not got an alternative or someone who can step up when he's absent else we won't be seeing this barren scoreline.

Such a distortion in statistics (and the victory of a team that is statistically worse) is a normal thing if one team plays bus and catches its chances on contact attacks. I don’t think that in the Leipzig - Bayer game anyone will play the bus, so the total number of chances is no less important than their conversion. Bayer has obvious problems with conversion.

It was a very good and easy game for Bayern who didn't waste a chance to come away with 3 points in this game, the opponent was a medium level team in terms of difficulties, that's why I didn't see any danger of Bayern losing in that game, so I put Bayern in my parlay and as expected from Bayern, they won the game without having any difficulties. As I expected, Victor Boniface's absence would have quite an impact on Leverkusen's attack line at the start of the match after the break. it was proven that this match was quite tough. even though Leverkusen owned the game with 76% ball possession, 24 total shots, 6 on target, seven shots blocked and 4 big chances, 1 shot hit the post, Xabi Alonso's team found it very difficult to convert every opportunity into a goal. and fortunately for Leverkusen, in the crucial minutes of 90+4, Exequiel Palacios was able to break into Augsburg's goal. so, for now Leverkusen is still safe in terms of maintaining a point distance from teams below its ranking, especially Bayern Munich.

This is a very exciting match for Leverkusen fans of course because they will definitely think this match will end with a share of points. However, it must be admitted that the way Leverkusen pressed the Augsburg defense was extraordinary, the Leverkusen players never gave up until they finally managed to score a goal in the added minute.
