Xabi Alonso without doubt was earlier rumored to be the young manager that'll be replacing Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti when he eventually leave the Santiago Bernabeu club next summer but just few days ago, the Italian manager Ancelotti extended his contract with Real Madrid to 2026 to which. His contract extension has put to rest any news of any purported departure from the club.

That being said, I don't think it changes the fact that Xabi Alonso is a great manager that's capable of managing any top European club. Alonso I believe will prefer staying at Bayer Leverkusen beyond next summer than managing an average club anywhere in Europe.

That close competition you are talking about ended without success for 11 years in a row and Bayern Munich won the Bundesliga title every single year. It sometimes looked close, but Dortmund never won it. Now it is beginning to get serious for Dortmund and they have four games now that are rather easy and should be won.

They were only able to compete to be runners-up and were never able to beat Bayern Munich's dominance in the Bundesliga competition. Last season was the biggest opportunity for Dortmund to take over the Bundesliga title, but in the end they gave up the title to Bayern Munich in the last match at home and this is really embarrassing in my opinion.

If they don't at least get 10 points out of those four games, I doubt that this is going to end with the qualification for the Champions League this year. They have all the hard games towards the end of the second half of the season and I doubt that they will win a lot of those games against teams like Stuttgart, Bayern or Leverkusen.

Dortmund's next four matches will be against teams that are not much stronger than them and it should be easy for them to get full points. But because the competition is getting tougher, it is possible that Dortmund will lose some points in this match. Now their position is stuck in the top five of the standings and if Dortmund don't try harder to secure a win then I also doubt that they will qualify for the Champions League next season.

I think I said this before, but they didn't lose the title in the last match at home, they lost the title in a dozen of matches they should have won or tied before the last match was played. Dortmund is just not good enough and it has been like that for a while now. They have good weeks and then it looks as if they were able to break Bayern's dominance, but then the disappointment is so huge that nobody can trust their eyes what's happening. The last game last season was only the tip of the iceberg. The whole drama enfolded over the course of the whole season.

Bayern Munich recently are now linked with a move to sign Portuguese player Joao Palhinha a player who currently plays for Fulham in midfied. I agree with what you said because after all, looking at the value of Kimmich now he is still one of the players who is quite expensive until now even when looking at the statistics of the value of the current bundesliga players Kimmich is still in a player who is actually still at a very high price and he was the 4th expensive player in terms of price in the bundesliga last October.

I feel like Barcelona is just looking for Sergio Busquet as you said and they are doing it with closed eyes because they want to fill his pacle the team while all the players they hired so far for this team, couldn't have good enough performance to take the place of Busquets in Barcelona.

Well I think Xabi Alonso has made his marks at Leverkusen and it’s very excellent to bow out when the ovations are loudest. Yes he’s eyeing huge success at Leverkusen this season and it’s very possible. Yes, he has to face higher challenges but that’s not necessarily important if he wins the UEL this season and maybe the league; he can just go home and have a good rest and come back refreshed when he finds the perfect club.

It's common that great players who have achieve to many title with Bayern want to try another challenge outside germany. we have seen that in the past. but there are compelling reasons to believe that Joshua Kimmich is likely to remain with Bayern Munich and possibly extend his contract with the club. maybe things will be better in 2024. because the dortmund coach will now have a good co-coach . assistant coach Edin Terzić will be Nuri Sahin from January 2024.
Nuri Sahin has been coach at Turkish club Antalyaspor since October 2021 . now he is to support Edin Terzić . and ex-professional Sven Bender is also part of the coaching staff at borussia dortmund with immediate effect . i am now curious to see if there will be better results for dortmund in january and february . otherwise the club will not qualify for the champions league . there are still a lot of points to be won in the next 18 games . but i think dortmund will be in 2nd-4th place at the end of the season

Personally I think we got used to see Dortmund a very strong force in Bundesliga but lately they are not so strong at all and they also need to change a few players withing their squad because it's clear that something is not working.

I also don't think that they can achieve UCL spots this year or they will achieve it with a bit of luck and help from teams like Stuttgart ( who are 3rd place ) and Leipzig ( 4th place right now ) but it kinda looks like top 4 are already locked in. 

Yes, Dortmund is not any real threat for any top teams any more. And they lost all credibility when they could not win the Bundesliga last season. They had a golden chance to actually win. Somehow they were unable to. And that was all their fault.

And in this season, they are not playing well. Just look at the last five matches. In the last four matches, they do not have any wins at all. With this type of performance, we cannot expect anything much from Dortmund to be honest. And right now I do not think the players that are in the Dortmund squad, are actually reliable.

Well if Bayern Munich are still considering to renew Joshua Kimmich's contract it may mean that he's still important to their squad and has a role to play, maybe they're keeping him based on his experience and influence to the younger player else they would've place him on a transfer,  however signing a player that could deliver quick results is still very important and I think they should still con sider making a move again for Fulham's Joao Palhinha cause he controls the midfield very well and performs better than Kimmich.
