As I expected, Victor Boniface's absence would have quite an impact on Leverkusen's attack line at the start of the match after the break. it was proven that this match was quite tough. even though Leverkusen owned the game with 76% ball possession, 24 total shots, 6 on target, seven shots blocked and 4 big chances, 1 shot hit the post, Xabi Alonso's team found it very difficult to convert every opportunity into a goal. and fortunately for Leverkusen, in the crucial minutes of 90+4, Exequiel Palacios was able to break into Augsburg's goal. so, for now Leverkusen is still safe in terms of maintaining a point distance from teams below its ranking, especially Bayern Munich.

You could say that Bayer Leverkusen won very dramatically over Augsburg with a goal in the final minutes. This victory means they are still comfortable at the top of the Bundesliga standings. I didn't see them scoring that late winner, I went back to see the statistics from the game. Shout out to the players for fighting until the very last minutes of the game to secure three points, though I know Bayern Munich still have one more game to play and if they win, they'll be able to level up the gap slightly.
