Finally Dortmund managed to win this match with a score of 2:3 this time Dortmund did well and did not disappoint their fans as a top club at least Dortmund must continue to show their best even though this is only a pre-season match. If seen from that side it is quite real that even the England national team itself did not succeed in getting the Euro trophy this year even though they had made it to the final and England's reply goal only happened after Harry Kane left the final match. True, Nuri Sahin is still very new in his coaching career but anyway, previously Nuri Sahin also served as Dortmund assistant coach even though he is still relatively new too, because Nuri Sahin became Dortmund assistant coach also occurred in January 2024. Considering the goals Borussia Dortmund conceded in two games, I am afraid they might not be in a good position to compete for trophies this season. Yes, preseason shouldn't be used as a yardstick to predict how the season will play out. But a club that conceded seven goals playing with some lowly rated clubs, should work hard on its defense. If they have players who are injured, the transfer window is still open. They can buy some good players based on their budget. I don't know why you worry so much about friendly matches because I don't see it as a game one should take the outcome serious. I've just checked the odds for the outright winner of the Bundesliga 2024/25 and not going to lie, I was quite surprised with what I see.
I expected Leverkusen to be the favourite. There's no way they'll be as dominating as in the previous season, but I still think they are more likely to win than any other team.
Maybe I'm just not a big believer of Kompany being able to make Bayern great again.

With a few more strong players, they should be able to compete for the title in the Bundesliga under Nuri Sahin. Harry Kane is just unlucky as you’ve said and nothing as a curse following him that he’ll be blamed about. He just have to join them when their most unexpected opponent was in their best form. I think Dortmund management's expectation from Nuri Sahin is not the championship, but to develop a football philosophy that suits the club and to improve himself. Also, even though Dortmund reached the UCL final, their squad is not strong and large enough to finish as the Bundesliga leader. Leverkusen are likely to keep their manager and squad. Bayern Munich, on the other hand, although bad last season, always have a quality gap with their rivals. Dortmund can win target matches with high concentration and high fight as they did in the UCL, but the league is a long marathon and the possibility of surprises may not be in the league. Since Dortmund are not making big transfers, Nuri Sahin can both improve himself and establish a strong authority at the club where he is a symbol. I think it is too early to begin to criticize the new coach of Dortmund Nuri Sahin after from 0:3 to end the game 2:3, for sure I don't think he understood his team before game and it is obvious because the team is yet to pick the first 11 players for starting every game but with few friendly games the coach is sure of having good selection among the players before working of the best tactics that he will use in the team.

Since friendly games are used to make the selection in terms of players that will be starting in a game, I expect the friendly matches to be more interesting and the players putting in their efforts beyond expectation so that the coach can select the one he  want to be among his starting lineup but it's unfortunate that you said friendly matches are not used to know the performance of the team but I think more friendly matches are done not just to revive the fitness of the players it is used to also make a better comparism among players.

You're right. Kane already contributed many goals for England and for Bayern Munich. His stats clearly showed us how strong Harry Kane. Harry Kane was the top scorer in Bundesliga last season. But winning a trophy can't be done by a single player, it depends on the whole teams. Bayern Munich is quite good in attacking but they have weak defense. In the last season, Bayern defense performed badly. It is the reason why Bayern could compete with Leverkusen well. Instead of finishing the season as a runner-up, Bayern Munich ended the season in the 3rd place.

Actually, I can't wait for Kompany's debut in the new season with Munich. With an extraordinary composition of players and very different pressures and playing styles of Bundesliga and EPL. Kompany has carried out several player transfer policies as he wishes, he should be able to become a successful new coach.  But some of the players I like are also leaving, including rumors that De Light is going to Man United. But indeed De Ligt has not gotten much playing minutes this season. If Bayern had the collectivity and mentality to play like Leverkusen, I think Munich would be much greater.

Kompany has made his debut when Bayern Munich played against FC Rottach-Egern. He was quite successful to manage Bayern players in his debut, Bayern could win the match with 14 goals. I know FC Rottach-Egern is small team, people will say it is easy to score many goals against them. But we must appreciate what Kompany has done in the match. He succeeded winning the match with most young players and second tier players. I think it is a good sign for Bayern Munich for the new season under Kompany's management.

We haven't seen much of the Leverkusen side in the club friendly games and we already know all they did last season and is like they're resting to prepare for the upcoming season which we know is not going to be an easy one this time around. With Xabi Alonso still with the team who he led to a wonderful finish last season, can we still expect same result or should I say something much bigger and better than last season knowing quite well that Bayern Munich are not backing down with the new manager Kompany, can Alonso's men defend their title and make life unbearable for the other Bundesliga teams ones again? To me I'm not sure about Leverkusen next season, how they'll play but I'll tell you for sure that they are everyone's target next campaign.

Like you rightly pointed out, haven't engaged in many preseason games like their counterparts from the other European leagues. The only preseason friendly game they've played so far is the one they did play against Essen on Friday but before the next season officially kicks off, Bayer Leverkusen have already lined up three friendly games. They play against French club Lens next Saturday before they'll play against Arsenal and then round up their preseason against Spanish side Real Betis. I think playing four games as preseason games as a German Bundesliga club isn't a bad idea considering the fact that the league is less  demanding than other European leagues that consists of 20 clubs
