Obviously the match in a few days will be decisive for the rest of the league. Leverkusen has to win this match. If they can't win this match and lose to Bayern Munich, Bayern Munich will probably be unbeatable for the rest of the league. Bayern Munich is currently leading the league and Leverkusen is following them. If Bayer Leverkusen can beat them, they may be able to continue their claim for the championship. However, any negative result will also knock them out of the championship race. And Bayern Munich will be heading towards the championship on their own. Therefore, Leverkusen has no choice but to win the match.

This match is not so important, because even if Bayern loses, it will be ahead of Bayer by 5 points, and Bayer will not be able to win back even such a difference from Bayern in the remaining matches. But I am more inclined to think that Bayern will be able to achieve victory in this match, in the worst case it will be a draw, but Bayer will have to try hard for this, because Bayern is now stronger than them. I do not think it is true that Bayern Munich will definitely win against Bayer Leverkusen. Even though Bayern Munich has played well all season and is 8 points ahead Bayer Leverkusen is still strong team that could cause problems. Just because Leverkusen lost to Wolfsburg and fell behind in points it does not mean they will give up trying to catch up. Also football is game where unexpected things can happen and sometimes teams that are not expected to win actually do. So while Bayern Munich has good chance of winning league game against Leverkusen is not sure thing.

For me, the game is going to be a caggy game. Yes, Bayern Munich will play well but they might fail to utilise their chances just as they have been doing in previous games. Their back line is porous and let in lots of goals, Bayern Leverkusen might take that advantage and punish Bayern but if Leverkusen are being run down by Bayern in terms of play, then I think Bayern will capitalise on it to punish them. The game is 50/50 in my opinion, any team can win.

Dortmund must be realistic about the targets they want to achieve, I am not so sure they will be able to focus on achieving big targets especially in the Champions League. I think Dortmund must be able to chase maximum points in the remaining matches because the bad start at the beginning of the league has made it difficult for the team to concentrate again.

A more realistic target for a team like Dortmund at this time is to improve its position in the Bundesliga standings although Dortmund must also remain focused on the Champions League competition with a much more difficult competitive tension. Dortmund seems too focused on the champions league, they managed to win with a score of 0-3 in today's match. Dortmund's performance in the champions league is in contrast to the Bundesliga because in the Bundesliga Dortmund has experienced a fairly sharp decline because they are currently stuck in 11th place. The change of coach was made by management in order to bring about changes to their performance in the Bundesliga.

It is obvious that Dortmund do not have any chance of contending for the title this season and at such can only focus all their attention on the champions league which in my opinion is the only shot they have this season to lay their hands on something, though they do not look like a team that can win the champions league at the moment but they can at least go as far as the quarter finals or the semis if they can be able to fight better.

Dortmund won a very important victory against Lisbon yesterday. As we all know, they no longer have a chance of becoming champions in the Bundesliga. The only and most important goal for them is the Champions League. They are lucky in this regard because their opponents Sporting Lisbon were one of the teams with equal strength that they could face. In fact, they managed to score three goals against them away from home in the match they played yesterday and they are returning to the match in Germany with a very big advantage. They have most likely passed this round, what is important is how they will play against their opponents after this round.

Sure Dortmund victory away from home underscores a big advantage for them in getting off from this playoff to the next of 16, but still we can't say its over for Sporting until the second leg is played because we have seen in past games in the UCL where team loses woefully at home only to get to away and secure an astonished victory overturning previous result.

I think Dortmund shouldn't throw away hopes in regard to contesting in the domestic league for the bundesliga title just yet, even though they don't stand a chance they need to make sure they finish at least 3rd place in order to secure a place in the UCL next season should they fail to find their way to reach the UCL finals. If Xabi Alonso's students don't win this game then it is technically over for them when it comes to the league title.    Even if they win the gap will be 5 points. They will need to hope for their rival to make simple point losses to hand the the title over to them. Would it happen? I don't think so though. We are talking about a Bayern Munich which have only 1 loss and 3 draws so far. They have a potential to collect 21 more points compared to the previous season. There is a huge progress now as a result.

Winning Bayern Munich will be difficult for Leverkusen this time; I was expecting Leverkusen to keep the gap close but they failed by dropping some points against Wolfsburg last week; this result gives Bayern more confidence in the title race because they have widen the points gap to eight points instead of six points.

Leverkusen defeated Bayern in their last cup match, and drew against Bayern in their Bundesliga first leg game, I don’t think Vincent Kompany’s side will take it likely with them because their main hope is in the Bundesliga title this season since they have been eliminated in some cups and they have also not confident in the Champions League.
I think I’ll expect Bayern Munich to win this coming match, and if they win the match, it means Leverkusen should just give up in the title race because the points gap will be eleven points which will be wide.

Niko Kovač started his work in the Bundesliga as Dortmund coach last game and I must say that in my opinion Dortmund is bad in defense and the mentality of the players seems to be weak, just look at the nonsense that Julian Ryerson did in the last game, Julian Ryerson and defense. I think that the new Dortmund coach will have some headaches, I believe that for defense he should put the same players that he put in the game against Sporting in the European Champions League, if in the next game against Bochum he does that, then Dortmund will win, that's why I bet on Dortmund's victory against Bochum.

Every coach needs some time for their adjustment period, I am sure that Kovac is getting used to the team. I know that it looked terrible for the first game, but with time I am sure that they are going to get better and better. May not be that easy, maybe they will be much better next season after transfers done during the summer. The problem is that they didn't make much moves on winter break neither, which is causing them to do badly.

I mean they made so much money from the famous trio sales of Sanco, Haaland and Jude. However, they didn't use that money to get better players, look at the squad, so much money spent, for such a bad talent. If they used that money for great talent like those, they would have won the league already.

Dortmund is currently in 11th place in the Bundesliga. Therefore, the possibility of being in the top three is almost miraculous. Initially I doubted Dortmund in UCL but in yesterday's match I was a little surprised. The game they played against Real Madrid was also very good, but they lost the match due to very stupid decisions. After seeing the game they played against Real Madrid, I understand that they really prepared for the Champions League. Also, this magnificent victory they got against Sporting Lisbon in the first match shows us how important the Champions League is for them. I think Dortmund is one of the surprise teams in the Champions League.

Dortmund is struggling in the league, but in the UCL, things are different. I didn't expect Dortmund to perform well against Sporting in the UCL because what they're doing in the Bundesliga doesn't make you believe they can perform well in the UCL. I'm pretty amazed that Sporting can't even score a goal against Dortmund. They have demonstrated a clear preference for the UCL over league competition. And that is what they have been doing since last season; they do poorly in the league, but in the UCL, they usually have luck and win matches, giving them a chance to get to the final. Because how Dortmund performed last season in the league. if they say they will play final against Real Madrid you won't beleave, and they really performed very well against Madrid is just that they don't have luck in the game. Dortmund don't have a opportunities to win the Bundesliga anymore because there point is very low and i don't think they can pick form in the league again to catch Bayern Munich in the league again.

Victory at Sporting CP headquarters gives Dortmund a big advantage in the second leg which will be played at their headquarters, they only need a draw or a 2-0 defeat to secure a ticket to the last 16. I was very surprised by Dortmund style of play in the first leg because what they showed at Sporting home was very different from when they play in the Bundesliga.
Dortmund may have eased into the last 16, but they will have to work hard to get back into the top four in the domestic league.

There are still 13 matches left until the end of the season, Dortmund is in 11th place. the distance from Liepzig who is in 4th position is only 7 points, which means the opportunity is still open for Dortmund to increase their ranking as far as possible, if they are lucky maybe they finish in the top four of the standings. nothing is impossible, after all football is difficult to predict. in the Champions League they know they have strong teams ready to wait for them if they qualify from this playoff phase. it is not easy to advance to the next stage, but they will try to perform as well as possible and advance as far as they can. well, nothing is unimportant to them whether it is the Bundesliga or the Champions League.

For the realistic situation at this time Dortmund is unlikely to win the farthest league bundes to the quarter-finals but even though it does not rule out the possibility they get their own chances to get that victory if they really can improvise to be even better.

But if seen from the league championship league championship it is far more likely because Munich has shown his ideal for the consistency he has today so that the League Bundes can be the main grip for Bayer Munich can get the trophy this season again after last season was taken by Bayer Leverkusen.

You are thinking in the same direction as me because I find it surprising how Borussia Dortmund will be this strong in the Champions League but somehow weak in the German Bundesliga.  Assuming they can maintain the same energy and form, they would have been better positioned in the league. However, I noticed they have been picking up form even in the league matches and I know they can build on that and see how they end the season.

I guess we are not the only ones that are thinking this way about there performance difference between the German and the Champions Leagues they are playing.
But yeah it looks like that the new Coach maybe already have done something positiv to the team , lets see how they will be doing against and in Bochum.
If they dont win that match in Bochum i dont know what to say or think about them , it would be a disaster.

Winning the Champions League would be no different than daydreaming for Dortmund. I know they reached the finale last season but I wouldn't expect it to happen 2 times in a row. 

About putting realistic targets for themselves, I agree. Currently the team are in crisis in the Bundesliga. First they need to fix this image of being a middle-placed team.

Finishing in top 4 would be the biggest target they can determine now. Even that is questionable as long as they don't start a winning streak.

The remaining matches in the Bundesliga are 13 more matches, and from the 21 matches that have been played by Borussia Dortmund, they have only been able to win 29 points with a record of 8 wins, 5 draws and 8 losses, a fairly bad record achieved by a team as big as Borussia Dortmund, they have really lost their consistency for this season. And to be able to finish in 4th position in the Bundesliga standings, they must play more consistently to get more points.

And for the next 4 matches in the Bundesliga, Borussia Dortmund will face lower-ranked teams, namely Bochum, Union Berlin, St. Pauli and Augsburg. I hope that facing a weaker team, Dormund can take that momentum to win more and collect more points before they will face the top teams again.

Without any doubt Bayern Munich have one of the best comeback into Bundesliga, and currently they are leading by 9 points which is huge difference while things are clearly indicating now race for title is almost ended, but this game is wide open with Bayer Leverkusen will try his best for keeping things alive but for me this game can end on draw.

Bayer Leverkusen is having no pressure of going down so they needed to be give their best with aggressive approach because in case of win things could be positive and their players confidence level will be also improved which is important for them in coming days. Bayern Munich is well-balanced side with the best defense in league while their attack is also one of the best Harry Kane is heading for his first trophy of long career as dream is coming true for him to won trophies this game is important but having better chance of Bayer/draw.
