Lately, seems like Borussia Dortmund has picked up form a bit. They have won 3 games out of their last 5 matches and losing 2 out of it. Currently, they are in the 10th position in the league standings and the difference between them and the team who's 4th is just 6 points, if they win most of their games in this remaining part of the season, they will likely make top 4 which will definitely be a good season for them considering all they have being through in most parts of the season.

Freiburg failed to maximize the moment to climb into the top four, because Freiburg who played away against Augsburg ended the match with a goalless draw. At least, at this moment they could have given a threat to Eintracht Frankfurt who is in third place, although they could not overtake them directly but "if" Freiburg managed to beat Augsburg then of course Freiburg would have a better chance to be able to compete to finish in the top four. But indeed,  there are still many remaining matches to be played in the rest of this season and of course, Eintracht Frankfurt is also not in a completely safe position. You are right Bayern Munich has been very consistent this season and has improved a lot from last season. Fact is that they have not lost game in Bundesliga yet shows how strong and solid they are. Because they are doing so well it us unlikely that any team including Leverkusen can catch up to them in race for Bundesliga title. Leverkusen best chance to win something might be FB Pokal trophy. However it is worth noting that Leverkusen has shown that they can bounce back and improve even though they started season poorly and had problems with their defense and injuries. Their ability to adjust and overcome these challenges will be very important if they want to win FB Pokal trophy.

Yes you are right that Freiburg is actually quite strong but they cannot be consistent, for example this season they can be in the top 5 or 4 but for the next season they will look like they are declining, that what makes Freiburg just an unstable team and their performance with the results in the Bundesliga will only depend on how strong the other team are.
2022/23 Freiburg finish in 5th place and 2023/24 they dropped by finish in 10th place, now they are back in the top 5 and this competition will be interesting until the end of the season and Freiburg can still compete for place in the top 3.

There are still 10 matches I see in the 3rd place table the relegation team has a narrow point difference. Bochum, Holstein Keil, and Heidenheim are 1 point apart in order. In last two decades, Dortmund are the most challenging and stable competitor against Bayern Munich in Bundesliga but in most seasons, Bayern Munich won Bundesliga titles. After having a very impressive season with 'nearly' win Bundesliga and Champions League titles but eventually end that season with no title that all goes to Bayern Munich, Dortmund began their fall. Many star players left Dortmund recent seasons like Sancho, Haaland, Jude and they failed to replace those star players with new ones, it takes them more seasons to come back.

Most of us would probably think that if there is a team that can shift Bayern Munich and win the title, it is Borussia Dortmund, but it is Leverkusen who can do it. With just 10 remaining league games to play, I think that it'll be almost impossible for Xabi Alonso's Bayer Leverkusen to catch up with league leaders Bayern Munich and that's not because they can't be consistent enough to win at least 8/10 of the remaining fixtures but because Vincent Kompany's men are also on a good run of form and would do everything possible to win as many points that'll confirm them as champions. Bayern Munich have fought so hard to reclaim the league trophy so I don't expect them to start underperforming in the last few games of the season.

Yes p you are right, in this season which is running for a few weeks left it is difficult to see Bayern Munich getting a defeat or Kompany failing in the next matches, maintaining the position is a wise choice for Xabi Alonso because maybe in front there is a chance even though it is small and can catch up, I think having a gap of 3 or 2 is very worthy to fight for, but currently the gap is still within 8 points which is very difficult to work on.

3 wins 2 losses - I don't even know if this is a positive dynamic for Dortmund. At least this is a small percentage of points to count on a quick (considering the number of rounds until the end of the tournament it is necessary) growth in the tournament table. So far, nothing has changed fundamentally - the same high volatility inherent to Dortmund. Zero draws.

I see Freiburg as they have been in other seasons, they never fight for the title, so finishing in the positions that qualify for European competitions is their main objective. But surprisingly, Mainz is in the position that qualifies for the European Champions League while teams like Freiburg, Dortmund, Leipzig, which are often the ones that occupy these positions, are below Mainz. Freiburg can still occupy the 3rd position if they win in the next game and do not lose points in the remaining games.

I don't understand why people keep saying that they are back because they won 3 games!
It's even worse when you look at whom they beat:
St Pauli , Union, Heindenheim
Lost to Stuttgart and Bochum.

So they won against teams placed 14th,  15th and 18th and lost against the 9th and 16th.
How can you brag by winning against two teams that haven't got a single win in the last 5 games anyhow?

Way too many look here at the 5 rounds record without actually checking whom they played in those rounds.
