18 blocks remaining before the next difficulty change

about 2.7 hours

Overclock your S7 10% then. One difficulty change gratis!

8.7%, not even 9.  Better than I had hoped.

Yep, not too bad.  Could have been worse.  I'm expecting about 7.8% to 12.8% next difficulty change after batch 8's and more Avalon 6's hit the network.

Yeah, baby treatment.

I don't have one of these units...but don't they come with only a 90 day warranty? if so I too would baby any asic with that (just saying....what is the warranty if it is not 90 days and how good is the company on such..wondering?)

anyway no dog in this fight ..just not a big fan of complex asic machines scypt or sha256 with 90 day warranties (knc tried this on knc Titans ..but forgot to change the www page from one year for a month..thus stuck themselves with having to honor 1yr warranty ....them  RMA's of the 1st batch really sucked ..lots of issues still...they could a saved a couple million bucks easy if they had a 90 day warranty imho)...so again not a fan of such ...too much can go wrong.

Old Style Legacy Plug & Play BBS System. Freeware! Get it from www.synchro.net. Updated 3/3/25. It also works with Windows 11 and Linux. Allows 16 bit DOS game doors on the same Win 11 Machine in Multi-Node! Five Minute Install! Look it over it uninstalls just as fast, if you simply want to look it over. Freeware! Full BBS System! It is a frigging hoot!:)

So i have a batch 1 S7 that ever since performing the FW update form the site wont hash seems like after a hard reboot and leaving it for a few hours it starts to hash but if I ever power it down the problem starts up again. multiple reboots and nothing the main screen is dead See screen shot

I have also tried to login via SSH with default root/root and i get access denied so I can't even poke around inside to try and review the config files

Anyone had any issues like this or can offer advice on how to get in with SSH I would appreciate your help

It is root admin, not root root. s5 started the root admin thing. s3 was root root.

Thanks I got in but still can't get the stupid thing to start hashing
you use dynamic or static address?
I use static and 8.8.8.8 dns  (Google dns)

You have a screen shot of the configuration?
Did you try the reset button? Sometimes the flash doesn't complete .

or change the network cable :-)

Its in a remote farm but last time this happened I tried a new cable that didn't work. The only thing I haven't tried yet is a hard reset using the reset switch as I am not onsite with the machine seems to be something went screwy with the FW update and its stuck in some inbetween state. All other miners are fine and have the exact same settings and until I attempted the FW update these 2 were fine

As others have mentioned, go back and check the simple things. You will need to go onsite and hit that reset and work on this baby. You may have a cable which worked loose from vibration.
Personally, if I am 100% sure I've checked the simple things, I check them again, and again, but I am OCD about the simple things because I help people everyday and it is almost always something minor, but then you may need to swap control boards to see if you flipped off the firmware when updating. By the way, don't update firmware without a huge reason to do so, and be sure that reason is satisfied in your update package.
One final thought, if it is the control board, at least you can connect the down unit to another and run two off one board while you get a replacement.
[/quote

I tried hard reset and everything else possible for 2 hours yesterday no dice. I took the miner home and plugged it in after sitting off for a few hours and i got it to hash no i have to try bringing it back to the farm

Decided to "make a thing" to power my S7s Grin. Hope some of you will appreciate this!

2X 2000w server PSUs sharing the load of the 3 S7s. Will shortly be replacing the PSUs with the 2500w versions since I'm actually pulling 4400w DC from them right now, which is 200w over their rating on each.

I've adjusted the voltage output to 12.6v on the PSUs.

Don't think so, it was incredibly labour intensive. Don't think it would be worth my time.

Over volting allowed me to set much higher frequencies:

I don't recommend overclocking this much, though. Can probably end up killing them.

PS mindtrip, could you please remove the [ img ] [/ img ] tags from your post so my pictures aren't repeated? They take up a lot of room in my post as it is, no need to have them copied below. Smiley

if he is not, I've this breakout board that does exactly the same thing:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1178099.0

-load sharing
-voltage adjust (11.3v to 13.0v / 11.7v to 13.7v)
-optional sideplates for easier mounting of the fans.

Finksy will sell them soon for the North America market, in the mean time, I'm taking care of the orders.

When you have the tools to do it, only need a few made and have some spare time, it's often cheaper and more rewarding to do it yourself than to buy something that's manufactured by someone else.

Your setup is quite nice, and does the job.
My only concern is the fact that it takes a lot of space (assuming you'll protect the bare copper plates for your own safety)

I was thinking that, after i was done with being amazed by the setup. (Mostly the fact that its more TH/s than all my many crap miners that takes tons of room) I was thinking i would use this to build some kind of enclosure;

First there is a pool section. => https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=41.0

Second, current luck doesn't represent the future

Third, thanks but no thanks

I understand there is a "pool section."

I'll take it down in a few.

As for luck...  They had only 1.1 PH/s a few days ago.  Now they are over 4.6 PH/s.  They've recently had a couple of decent size farms add some hash in the last couple of days to make it where the variance is more manageable.  Hence, the rise in luck with better variance.

Trust me on that : current luck doesn't represent the future whatever variable/formula you want to put into your reflection

I'm aware of that.  I'm mainly referring to "variance."  The variance is more manageable with a higher hash rate on a pool operated by top notch staff when "luck" is low.

Totally opposite on Slush Pool.  They have a hell of a lot of hash but staff that doesn't know what they are doing.  Look at the orphans they have...

I would be willing to bet if you saw all of the hash rate you see at Slush on CK/Kano Pool, you would not see all of those orphans.

Congratulations ?

Seriously this an S7 thread, please stop that

I understand...

No more...  At least for a while.

I took the first one down after a while [Like I said].  And I just took the second one down after about an hour [Like the previous one].
