Current positionBased on the votes in this thread Team Boolberry has chosen to play Rcc3. Now it is time for Team Monero to respond. I will plan to count votes again tomorrow at approximately 0:00 UTC. The blocksize scaling solution in Monero requires a tail emission otherwise when the emission becomes minimal or zero there is no penalty and no cost to increase the blocksize. This makes the Monero solution to this issue a non starter in Bitcoin.

I looked at the position more today and am changing my vote to Rcc3 2 votes Rcc3 (languagehasmeaning, boolberry) 1 votes Rg8 (tifozi) Wish you hadn't changed Why? If we had played Rg8 white could try to defend against our Rg2+ threat with Ke1. Now we can play Re3 cutting off the king while making a similar threat (Re2+). Our attack looks very strong now. 1 vote Re3 (boolberry)

I actually did see the 49...Rg2+ (50.Kc1 Ra1+ 51.Rb1 Rc2+) threat which is why I originally voted for 48....Rg8 with you. The reason why I changed my mind was that 48....Rg8 49.Ke1 (preventing Rg2+) seemed like a reasonable defense. I am pretty sure that if we had played Rg8 Monero would not have ignored our threat (by playing a6 like in the game) and would have found 49.Ke1. 48...Rcc3 was more sneaky because now white cannot escape with Ke1 and 50.Rf2 (to defend Re2+) does not work because of Rad3+ 51.Kc1 Re1 mate. Unless I am missing something we may now be winning. I see a few ways for Monero to prevent checkmate but they all provide us with a winning material advantage. 2 votes Re3 (boolberry, tifozi)

Yah that too, but I just figured white was going with a6 regardless as they had discussed. Either way black has this one

I was pretty sure we were headed for a draw earlier. Out of the opening Monero had an advantage. Hopefully they will agree to another game after this one with colors reversed.

This makes the Monero solution to this issue a non starter in Bitcoin. I am really happy Monero made the wise decision to implement tail emission early on. The later this decision is debated the more difficult it will be for other coins to implement. Monero is unique in more than one way and many of our advantages will be hard to copy:)

I vote that we resign.
It is 0:00 UTC so I am assuming the other voters have not found a viable defensive plan to save the game. Lets give it a little more time in case there is some hidden resource that someone can suggest for white. Is there interest in another game with colors reversed?

Our even endgame fell apart pretty quickly near the end. Good game
