Tomas Machac, who advanced to the next round without playing his second-round match following Carlos Alcaraz’s withdrawal, has been drawn against Andrey Rublev, who has looked solid so far. World No. 15 Rublev, who allowed Lorenzo Sonego just five games in the Round of 16, put on one of his best performances in quite some time. On the other hand, the set Machac took from Jannik Sinner at last week’s Monte Carlo Masters might have given him a different kind of confidence. I’m expecting a close and entertaining match.
It wasnt to be for Machac against Rublev, he lost in 2 sets.
A slight upset today with Fils beating the second seeded player Musetti again in only 2 sets.
I say a slight upset because Fils has been playing arguably his best tennis since coming back
from injury.
So Rublev plays Medjedovich tomorrow and is favourite @ 1.61
And Fils plays Jodar tomorrow also in Barcelona and is favourite @ 1.64
If this goes the likely way of Rublev v Fils in the final I think it would be quite even in terms of
who takes the title!
