@Haunebu - I don't know, but for me Djokovic is not that arrogant, maybe he had this playful personality that others might interpret him as arrogant.
In any case, we have different opinion, perhaps we have meant a lot of individual that might come as arrogant to us but not for others.
@aoluain - definitely, we want other names that might stand in the crowd and not just Sinner or Alcaraz and with GS titles. Zverev needs to step up as he is the number 3 player. And if he does, then we will have a good tennis era similar from the past and hopefully they will be beloved by tennis fans so that this sports might get it's recognition again.
Its funny with Zverev - I feel like he will never win a grand slam ok maybe oneor even reach the number 1 spot but he is consistent in what he does, reaching the quarter and semi finals in most of the top tournaments he is in. I cant see anyone else who can be the third in a new top 3, Medvedev has had his time and chance. The think is that third person has to sustain it for 10 plus years like we know Sinner and Alcaraz can.

We are into the Grass season straight away after Roland Garros and Zverev has made it into the final of Stuttgart for the first time which again is hard to believe, he faces Fritz tomorrow.
Semi finals today at the Libema Open in the Nerherlands with Diallo V Humbert and Opelka v Bergs. Interesting to see Opelka back and performing quite well after injury. Humbert is the number 2 seed so looking good for the win.

Does Zverev participate in Stuttgart every year? This would be a surprise if this is the first time ever that the made it into the final there. Taylor has been solid against Auger-Aliassime. I don't know if this is strong enough to beat Zverev on home ground, but if Taylor can manage to land his first serve in the same fashion as he has done against Auger-Aliassime, I am sure there will be plenty of aces in the match against Zverev. Stuttgart is not known for having around many of the top players, but this final is worth the ticket prices. Two great players with so far great shape during this event.

Yeah, Zverev is somewhat like almost fall short and I do agree that he might not win a grand slam. But what do you think the reason though? I mean he has all the tools in his arsenal to be in top and win that grand slam. But it seems to be that it's more on his mental though, he needs to be tough when everything is not going well. This is one trait that we have seen great players have. Same with Medvedev, even before the arrival of Sinner and Alcaraz, he was supposedly the heir apparent to be at least one of those who will challenge Djokovic when Federer left. He did good in the first half but then falters in the last 2-3 years. Maybe it was his injury, but still he could have been in the discussion to be the new breed of top players to replace the big 3.

Fritz is going well this season so this could be a three set match so I might bet accordingly.
Over at the Libema open in the Netherlands 2nd seed Humbert was beaten by Diallo, in fairness Humbert has had a quiet season. Anyway Diallo v Bergs in the final, dont know much about either player, my thinking initially is that it could be a 3 setter.

Most people talk about the big names in tennis while in London, qualifying no 86 seed Tatjana Maria won just he 4th title in amazing fashion. This woman is 37 years old, has 2 kids and beat the odds in every single match this week. She was a huge underdog in most of the matches she played and yet she dominated with an unorthodox game plan of slices and top spins, just beautiful! Wonder how she will look like in Wimbledon. For those who might not know, she actually reached the Wimbledon semi finals in 2022. Wouldn't it be crazy to get a similar result near the end of her career? So happy for her, humble and great person.

Massive win indeed by Maria, a kind of fairytale story really for someone which some would consider to be retired already. Back to the Libema open on the Womens side and Mertens won the final.
I think all be big names are back in action this coming week at Queens for the men! and Sinner playing in Halle

Wow! This is the first time hearing about her since I am simply a basic Tennis watcher who mainly focuses on the big ones duking it out across various courts. Coincidentally, 2025 is the year of the underdogs across various sports. For example, the South African cricket team just broke their 27 year old curse and won the World Test Championship recently.

Thats a very good question, I would have assumed he would have played Stuttgart a lot previously but you got me thinking now...just checked 2024 and 2023 and nope he wasnt competing. Fritz is going well this season so this could be a three set match so I might bet accordingly. Coming back to this conversation, my prediction came true and Taylor's first serve values were top notch and Zverev couldn't find an effective way to counter it reliably. This is what gets me tihinking about return strength. Is it that Zverev is not as good of a return player and that is why Fritz has these first serve values or is it because Fritz' first serve was extraordinarily strong throughout the tournament and in the final? I loved to watch Djokovic's return game when he was at his best because it must have felt as if the opponents are playing tennis against a wall that returns with AI. Returning every serve is a quality that exhausts the opponents and they have to take higher and risks to land some of those serves. I don't often watch Zverev, but when I do I think in some matches he quickly becomes fatigue and lazy about his return games. That gives the opponent additional confidence in the game and in 1v1 sports you never want to give this advantage to an opponent for free.

Wimbledon 2025 coming up and I am excited for it. On the men's side, I am expecting a Sinner-Alcaraz final with Alcaraz winning and continuing his domination on grass while Djokovic will probably not reach the final.
On the women's side, I am expecting Sabalenka vs Keys in the final where Keys will end up winning. These are just my outright predictions as of now.

Grass is much different, the court is much faster and i think here Alcaraz dosent have that much of chance of winning it. I think the biggest chances have Sinner and Djokovic especially Djokovic that has a good chance to win due to his high win rate on grass. On women side i agree that Sabalenka can take it

She has a good history there and is riding a nice little farewell tour at the moment. After winning in London last weekend I expect her to show her skills at Wimbledon as well. By the way, she beat Keys in the London tournament as well, 6:3 7:6 . So she knows she can win against top 10 talents on this surface.

It would be such a fairytale if she were to win Wimbledon but as we have seen many times - the womens tour is very unpredictable, there is only one dominant player - Sabalenka and the rest can beat each other on any given day. Winning a title in London on Grass does not always transpire to a title in Wimbledon. I will be definitely keeping an eye on Jabeur. She plays well on grass, has reached the final at Wimbledon twice and has beaten Paolini yesterday in Berlin (on grass)! Just throwing it out there...

You are totally out of touch, aren't you? Alcaraz is a monster on grass and won Wimbledon last year against the Joker pretty convincingly. The only one capable of stopping him at the moment seems to be Sinner. Djokovic is clearly past his prime, but he is still someone to fear considering his legendary status in the Tennis world though Alcaraz and Sinner are the legend killers these days.

Few minutes left and we Will see the match between Sinner and Bublik. Sinner Is favorite for the winner with a High odd of 1.12 (I would say high since he has always won against him - and they know very well each other). Another Italian has Lost after a fierce battle. No luck for Sonego vs Zverev

If you see how Alcaraz is playing in his first matches on grass he is obviously struggling. Today against Munar he barely won and Munar is really terrible on grass because he is a clay player. I still think that Alcaraz wont reach the final and i think Djokovic will reach it surely even because he is past his prime time

Were yo by any chance watching the match between Fritz and Moutet yesterday at Queens, I lost a bet on this one because of Fritz' defeat and over 3 sets. It was a spicy affair with heated words between the two and the chair umpire having to intervene, then in the 3rd set Moutet got hit in the face by a ball from Fritz but they shook hands. No but good that you mention this because I will watch the highlights then. I suppose they have put that together if it was with heated words. Spicy affair. That says a lot about the match. Usually spicy affairs are about to unfold when Kyrgios plays. This is what I observed about Fritz. When he has a good day with his first serve, any player has a hard time stopping him. As soon as his first serve doesn't serve him well ( ), Fritz gets into trouble. That is why I think excellent return players are the ones who Fritz has most trouble to deal with.

Few minutes left and we Will see the match between Sinner and Bublik. Sinner Is favorite for the winner with a High odd of 1.12 (I would say high since he has always won against him - and they know very well each other). Another Italian has Lost after a fierce battle. No luck for Sonego vs Zverev But Bublik favours Grass! I was watching the match on and off and after the first set and how Sinner was playing I really thought it was going to be a Sinner win in 2 sets, but the second set was incredible, some seriously super tennis by Bublik, his service game played a massive part in his win, he was actually winning his games easier and quicker than Sinner was his. -
Were yo by any chance watching the match between Fritz and Moutet yesterday at Queens, I lost a bet on this one because of Fritz' defeat and over 3 sets. I suppose you could call Fritz limited in his tennis and I suppose most players have a weakness of some sort. Its the opposition teams job to work out those weaknesses.

After the first set I was totally sure of the winner for Sinner.the Classic match were he win with a couple of break points per set. This defeat was also something unexpected by them and a big warning for the upcoming matches in Wimbledon. Bublik Is 45? in atp ranking... He has achieved anyway a great result with this win.
