Easiest Finals win for Sabalenka coming up. Even though it's Miami, Pegula's home neighborhood, as she's from Florida as well. The crowd didn't make it feel like she was home fav, in her previous match against Eala. I don't see any change in that against Sabalenka. Sabalenka leads h2h 6-2 and I've mentally already imagined Sabalenka holding the tropy.

Right, Sabalenka won the Miami's women title, as she continues her dominance as world's number 1.

For me the men's Djokovic is the heavy favorite, but then again we will have another 19 year old Mensik. If only we see Eala going into the finals, it will be fitting to have two 19 year old in both and women.

Nevertheless, it seems that Djokovic is healthy, so going to be another Miami title for him.

Yea Djokovic for the title I recon, jeez I really doddnt expect that 2 weeks ago!

If he manages to win the title, it will boost his confidence even more, but if he was in the final two or more years ago, everyone would have been sure that he would be the winner but not this time, even though Jakub Mensik has no experience in the final of a Masters 1000, his senior opponent this time is easier to beat by any player so the young Czech player has a chance to win his best title so far.
But I still choose Djokovic and the bookmakers still see Djokovic as the favorite too at @1.22.

Djokovic is turning 38 in late May so if he wants to cement his place beside Jimmy Connors (109 singles) and Roger Federer (103 singles) with having his 100th title wins he has got to win it today. Because time and him being in peak fitness is not on his side.

and if Djokovic wins tomorrow it will be his 100th singles title! I'm going way out
on a limb by saying that I recon Djokovic will give the youngster a set but take the title.
I believe they have been in contact and Mensik is a MASSIVE fan of Djokovic
and while they played against each other before last year but I still think Mensik
has more psychological work to do in this final  than Djokovic does! that might
take its toll

Mensik at the age of 19 is certainly physically stronger than Djoko, but Djoko is also extremely strong for his age. I'm convinced that Djokovic's very high level of experience will bring him victory, Mensik simply lacks experience and then he has to play a final against one of the greatest tennis players who ever lived, I don't think he'll be able to withstand the pressure. He might actually win a set, but he'll lose the match.

Waiting for several hours until this finals match was set to start. But there has been a rain delay up until now.
Seen when Djokovic was doing some practice sessions in the indoor area to get ready for this finals match.
He did have swelling under his eye so lets hope that goes down before they start.
If it doesn't then it might affect the way he sees the ball. So you could be right and Mensik will take a set from him quite easily.

You are right, Djokovic's peak is over and it seems like his time is running out because he is struggling with many things like injuries and stamina, like today's match.
Djokovic looked very struggling with the temperature and was very tired, he had to admit Mensik in a two-set match, but it was not an easy match for Mensik either because it had to be passed with a tie break.
But I feel he still might win the title or even GS but it is hard to predict when he will achieve that, he can sometimes answer well any doubts directed at him.

No doubt, Djokovic is an experienced player and due to that, he was given less odds by the bookies but then we should not underestimate J. Menšík. In fact, it would have been great fortunes for those who took 4.50 on the mensik and win the bet. This was very close game where Jakub Mensik won the two sets by 7-6, 7-6. Mensik will never forget this win as he has done something close to impossible.

Not only did Djokovic lose his game, but at the same time, he missed getting his 100th title.

Yes indeed guys Djokovic' reign is well and truly over. His defeat in the final of Miami
to 19 year old Mensik shows that he is more beatable now. He actually had an easier
draw to the final. TBH I was surprised he even reached the final because there are a lot
of players more capable now of beating him on any day, But I did think he would beat
Mensik though.

and I can see him reaching Federer's 103 titles.

Wasn't able to watch the game, but when I check the score, I was shock that Djokovic lost this game. I thought he had all the advantage against the 19 year old. But it seems this young players could be the next big thing for tennis as well.

Perhaps we will still him winning that 100th title, but yes, it's a impressive run by him. And he is still competing at high level despite his age and numerous injuries. But it seems that will be his main goal for this year.

For Mensik, this is just the start for this kind and for sure he has gain a lot of fans with this huge win.

In the era of uncertainty and unpredictable performance from the many tops ranked tennis players another new player having good intention from the tennis pundits as he won first title at ATP Miami against Novak Djokovic which was amazing stuff from this new kid in big game.

His win in straight sets with big serves giving him good view from former top ranked tennis players which is surely good sign because many players fail to keep consistency and losing their depth which is surely big concern for the ATP after end of big 3 era in this final mostly were expecting 100th title for legend Djokovic, but sadly he fails and still winless in long run.



In absence of Sinner now tables are turning into favour of Jakub Menšík hopefully things will be on positive, and he will be able to hold nerves for having good future in this game.

The bad thing is that even though he is out, number 2 seed Alcaraz was not able to take advantage of him not in the tournament. Same with Djokovic as well. So it's going to be a great tournament now that he is back and regain his lost glory or keep his standing as the number 1 player right now.

When Sinner comes back playing in my theory his level of performance should challenge
Alcaraz and Zverev to perform to a higher level too?

Alcaraz in particular was way more competitive last year when Sinner was playing,
maybe its just a coincidence or maybe we will see a different Alcaraz now that the
Clay season has started?

ATM I cant see that he is playing this week, or Zverev or Tsitsipas?

And we can say that their games are really deteriorating or it could be that the condition of other players are improving already that they were able to catch up with this big players?

So it's really hard to say thought, and it just shows that this players are just human. And they are affected like the best of us here. Sometimes there are things that we can't really control and as much as they wanted to win, it's like the opposite is happening to them.

There are like ATP challenges schedule right now. I haven't seen who are playing though.

I do not think that motivation is the factor, it's perhaps the level of competition in this era is very different. Everyone is really upping their game and I will say not in a disrespectful way, but perhaps players think that they can beat the top players right now.

I haven't followed the latest tournament although I just check the sports bookies that I usually bet on and see that there are indeed some tennis matches but relatively most of them are not unknown except for a few that might have ranked like Brooksby and Tiafoe and others.

there are many strong players and many tournaments. moreover, younger generation seems a bit "hungry" for success.
Alacaraz is in the position that he has to demonstrate what he is able to do each time!

In my opinion, I don't see Zverev as a player that would have the same impact on tennis like what we have seen with major players.
bear in mind he has diabetes type 1. in my opinion this could be really hard to face and an extra hurdle for him.

Yes he is doing well, he is through to the round of 16 and Musetti and Cobolli
looking to do the same today. actually all the Italian players seem to be getting better.

Cobolli won the Bucharest open last week beating Baez in 2 sets

Even though some too seeds have been beaten we still have Alcaraz, Djokovic
and Ruud in the draw and on the same side of it. I think its most interesting
what Alcaraz and Djokovic do....
