Yeah, it was really a huge upset win again by the Filipina beating Swiatek in straight sets. I think she is really or real as she advances to the semi-finals. For sure her country is very proud of her for accomplishing this big task.

So she is just waiting for her opponent in the semi-finals.

I'm curious about what the betting odds were before and during the quarterfinals. I'm sure she was a heavy underdog since it was all two upsets win. This is the first time a player from the Philippines has made it this far, so while the country is currently in turmoil due to politics, at least there's some exciting sports news to bring a smile to people's faces. Congratulations to Alex Eala and to the bettors who believed in her.

I have read that Rafa is following her progress very closely! She is also a Wildcard
entrant, so she wasnt given that for nothing!

She plays Pegula next which shouldnt be a problem for her IMO but it doesnt
always work like that because now at this stage of the tournament for her its
as much about mental strength as it is about Tennis skills.

I think her biggest challenge may lie in facing Sabalenka possibly if she gets past
Pegula. Odds for Pegulas match are 4.10.

Djokovic spend 84 minutes on court and beats Korda which is impressive work, from with this win look like he is now coming back into good rhythm which is going to help him for having first win of 2025 next game against Dimitrov for spot into final.

It was hard to call that match between Eala and Pegula, I didnt see it but I
imagine the home crowd made a lot of noise in support of Pegula, maybe
that, the pressure of the semi final and looming final and the "bounce of the ball"

Yea Djokovic for the title I recon, jeez I really doddnt expect that 2 weeks ago!

If he manages to win the title, it will boost his confidence even more, but if he was in the final two or more years ago, everyone would have been sure that he would be the winner but not this time, even though Jakub Mensik has no experience in the final of a Masters 1000, his senior opponent this time is easier to beat by any player so the young Czech player has a chance to win his best title so far.
But I still choose Djokovic and the bookmakers still see Djokovic as the favorite too at @1.22.

Mensik at the age of 19 is certainly physically stronger than Djoko, but Djoko is also extremely strong for his age. I'm convinced that Djokovic's very high level of experience will bring him victory, Mensik simply lacks experience and then he has to play a final against one of the greatest tennis players who ever lived, I don't think he'll be able to withstand the pressure. He might actually win a set, but he'll lose the match.
