There will always be those that expect every sportsman to live just for a chance to represent his country. That isn't always the case but I don't know enough about Sinner and his connections to Italian tennis organization to speculate on it.

Olympic tournament actually has quite a big standing among the tennis players and I would place it just behind Grand Slams and before ATP 1000 tournaments. So most of the top players will always be here. There were cases of players playing Davis cup in Olympic years just so they can come here even though they don't like playing for their countries.

We have few big names those have wins into their games and few are waiting for their games as coming in next few minutes in WTA we have upset as N Osaka lost to her German opponent Anglena Kerber and Gauff is waiting for her match which is going to start in few minutes.

We are going to have actions packed days here in Paris with most of the top-ranking players are giving their best for having top honour in these games.

I watched Osaka play, a real mixed bag performance, some pure class moments
followed by unforced errors and double faults. very frustrating.


First up tomorrow in the second round is Djokovic v Nadal. Thats a dream
line up. I havent seen Djokovic play but Nadal looked good against Fucsovics
earlier today. Djokovic is favoured currently at 1.14 v 5.50

Alcaraz, Tsitsipas and Ruud play tomorrow and are expected to win.

Unfortunately, Angelique lost today against Zhang. The match was super exciting, but Kerber looked a bit tired, which is not surprising as German veteran had a tough match against Paolini as you mentioned. At some point, the match started to resemble U12 junior tennis with almost exclusively lob shots. Unfortunately, these attempts to conserve energy failed as Kerber lost the 3rd set on a tie break.

Another amazing match was Alcaraz/Rafa vs US doubles specialist duo Ram/Krajicek. Unfortunately, the Olympic dream has ended for Rafa: their team lost 2:6, 4:6. The opponents were showing typical doubles play with great serves and frequent net takeovers.
