Thought I would share this with you guys:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sioZd3AxmnE

This is a very nice talk. Someone could argue that the amount of people that are now joining blockchain community in research of profit and not because they believe it is a disruptive innovation could mean that we may start going into massive addoption. Since they do not believe, they cannot be early adopters regarding his theory.

The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

However, it is my contention (actually the contention of many security experts) that one cannot assure security, but that rather it must be proven over time.

It's not cryptographical security, so "security thru obscurity" argument is not applicable here.

Is there no 3rd option?

It could be cryptographically secure but not scale, for example? Or a problem with the implementation?

The cost of attacking/spamming an IOTA network is virtually $zero, and even f you cant change the past you could perhaps delay the future, indefinitely? Or am I mistaken?

Very well.

Last Q:
Is the tangle only as fast as its slowest moving part?
i.e. is it enough for an attacker to take down only part of the network (<51%) to effectively make the network useless?

No.

And to delay the future? Can I use a botnet to suspend time with spamalot tactics?

Yes. There is no protection against botnets. At least I don't know a decentralized system (Bitcoin, BitTorrent, etc.) that could sustain an attack of a big enough botnet.

No mining. No fees. Sender does POW. Ico is over. For secure purchases, wait for them to hit the exchanges.
