At one time, I believe Kevin was truly a genuine and loyal guy. He said all the right things, yes. I believe he loved playing for OKC. But money got to him and it all changed. I figured he would leave once there was a chance and he did.
I think it is not the money because the OKC can offer him better salary than that OKC I guess but he just really like to land with a stronger team. Just like Pau Gasul, he has a lot of offers from Portland and Minnesota but in the end he chooses a team that he thinks legitimate to give him another championship. Of course it's about winning. Durant has the right to do whatever he wants to do. If he feels that joining the Warriors is the easiest path to win a ring, so be it. He chose the easiest way to win.

But Lebron's Cleveland at that time is way less than the OKC roster. Lebron had a retiring shaq, ilgauskas, antawn jamison, mo willams, and some unknown players unlike OKC has Westbrook, Oladipo, and twin towers Steven Adams and Enes Kanter. Prior to transfer as well, Lebron's Miami at that time was not as deep as the GSW who already won 73 games showing that they are already dominating the league to having an MVP-caliber player is no longer needed.

Also, Durant never had the chance to be called "the best player in the league". Lebron was there when he entered and LeBron was king. Then as the king started to look human, Cury emerged as the 3pt shooter star in the league. Durant will be always Durant. A great talent, a great player but never the best.

OKC already had a very close chance of getting to the Finals after leading 3-1 but where was Durant. They brought GSW to Game 7 and that means their roster is very capable, they only have depth issues as they don't have reliable player off the bench who can provide scoring unlike the GSW who have Barnes, Livingston off the bench. Why not improve on the depth issue and stay for a couple more years now that they have Oladipo. Anyway, it's already being done so we just need to wait til the season starts and see how will they compete against the rest of the NBA.
Actually you are the only one that get the point of Durant situation is. That's why I don't quote other post here about thoughts on Durant. They are didn't getting the whole point and just sticking of their own about "needs a ring" , "that is freedom" , "don't blame him" etc. I think it is not the money because the OKC can offer him better salary than that OKC I guess but he just really like to land with a stronger team. Just like Pau Gasul, he has a lot of offers from Portland and Minnesota but in the end he chooses a team that he thinks legitimate to give him another championship.
That's the real deal. Salary + Better teammates. GSW offered him both that's why he choose to landed on GSW. OKC offered him a close one with the GSW's offer but lack of good team mates. It can't be compare to Pau's story since offers received by Pau even for high salary is quite headache to him. Joining Portland and Minnesota will just give him a hard play.
Anyways who's Mavs fan here like me? Dirk Nowitzki, like I thought, he will stay to our team. A really loyal one.

I'm a Dallas fan too, maybe Texas, because I love Houston too. True, Dirk belongs to the same class like Kobe, they're true stars and they never left their home team. You don't find stars like that nowadays, maybe Wade, if he chooses to stay in Miami. Stars these day are very hungry for a ring and would switch teams anytime they like for a chance at the trophy. True stars play for the fans.

Good season for the Knicks if Derrick Rose will complete all games next season or at least more percentage of games played. We all know that D. Rose are prone to injuries and the last time he able to complete all games in the whole season was way back in 2010-11 season.

It's only a joke mate since Dallas have players of the same surname as that of Warriors in Gerald Green (Draymond), Jason Thompson (Klay) and Seth Curry (Steph). Sadly though there's no player with a lastname of Iguodala as well.

LOL, what a joke, they could become the duplicate of warriors, but seriously I really don't see dallas will enter in the playoffs this season with that line up. They should add more players with a superstar capability or a big man that could dominate the inside.

Previous roster in the past year is even much not that strong but still can managed to the top 8. Playoffs is quite easy to breach even with the strong teams on the West, as usual. They are always in the playoffs since the year I first became a fan of this team, 2000-2001 season although last 2012-2013 they didn't make it. That's the year when Cuban wrecked his championship rosters after their championship in 2011.

If they can go inside in the next playoffs, it'll be a shocker for us NBA fans.

The GSW also have Durant which is even a bigger deal. They are going to win a championship for sure because one of the guys is has to go off in a game.

It's sad to see my favorite player in NBA went to the most hated sports club of all time. My Durant fan days are officially over. You picked money over legacy, you won't win anything in Warriors.

Warriors will be the champion this season and durant will experience his first championship, after that he will go back again to OKC to win a championship just like what lebron james did.

I guess we have to wait for few more years before we can actually see that to happen. It's possible though especially in around 5 years time Lebron will no longer be the same.

First of all he's not LeBron James, he won't do that. Second Golden State won't win the league again for maybe 40 more years. It was a one time only championship. If you put all superstar players in one squad that doesn't guarantee championship. Considering how they failed to win it after 73-9 regular season, they are laughable.

Well yes, having 5 superstars in their starting 5 doesn't guarantee championships as you only have 1 ball. Plus Durant is guardable by the likes of long and fast players and he's not a strong defender either so this doesn't guarantee them a ring.
