I've heard some interesting thing about Kyrie Irving if it is true of course. Firstly, we know that he is still so stubborn about not being vaccinated. Because of his current attitude, he can't play in any of the games in this season of NBA. However, I've heard that he wanted to play in some of the games but didn't want to play in the rest of the games. And Nets didn't accept a request like this of course and decided to leave him out of the lineup. This is a so funny request by Irving.   Cheesy

We don't know what's in mind of kyrie Irving that he refused to be vaccinated but all in all if the nets want to finalize their bteam and Irving is include that I think that Irving must be vaccinated inorder to play his team. Cause nowadays if you not fully vaccinated you can't play in the court and we All know that they make a Way inorder that Irving play again in the hard Court.

His reason is;
Quote
Brooklyn Nets star point guard Kyrie Irving broke his silence Wednesday evening, confirming for the first time that he is unvaccinated against Covid-19 and arguing that “nobody should be forced to do anything with their bodies” while asserting he still hopes to return and play for the Nets at some point.

source https://www.forbes.com/sites/tommybeer/2021/10/14/kyrie-irving-confirms-hes-unvaccinated-and-explains-why-he-has-refused-the-shot/?sh=22a76ac7f9c8

He does not give the full details but that is more than enough for us to know that it's his own discretion and he doesn't want to be force to get vaccinated, and it seems like he really stand for his word as he is willing to sacrific millions of dollars coming from his pay this season.

It's too early to tell, we need more games to see his consistency. But actually, I don't feel his presence as the Lakers are not hyping me anymore, I mean they are not winning games as expected, so this team is just an ordinary team that struggles despite having a lot of all star players.
Correct. The hype is gone and so does the expectations. So what's left of them? It's the hope to fight back even with all the injuries and the criticism that fell in their roster. I want to see Lebron prove the worthiness of being a leader once more. I know he already did/proved that but here goes a lot of veterans in his shoulder that is looking forward to at least having one championship before they retire. That I would love to witness.

Even the most potential and still young Tacko Fall just become a bench player. Brad Stevens is so strict to his lineup.
I don't know if this is a mistake or not but if it is then I just want to humbly correct it.
Brad Stevens is already the president of Boston Celtics basketball operations and Ime Udoka is their head coach.  Wink

That's right, and you are not only correcting chaser15 but you also educated me. I'm a fan of NBA but lately i have not watch a full game of their games so I could not see if they still have the same coach, just watch some highlights and I did not suspect that the one that I saw is their coach already.

Since when  Ime Udoka has become their head coach?

Maybe that's the reason why Celtics are not consistent now. Sad

Joe Johnson coming out of retirement to sign a 10-day contract with the Celtics at 40 years old is something else.  I wonder if he's going to be able to make an impact and if this is a real signing to improve the team or a precaution because of all the players sitting out constantly with covid related issues.  One thing is for sure, Iso Joe being back in the league is a welcome sight for players and he has been a staple in the league for some time.  I personally will never forgive him for leaving the Suns, but I'm glad he's back.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nba/nba-world-reacts-to-the-joe-johnson-news/ar-AAS3YId?ocid=msedgntp

No impact. He's done for. No offense to his fans but it's just the same as other common players who are drafted by any teams with a short-term contract. He's already 40 years of age so what can we expect. Even the most potential and still young Tacko Fall just become a bench player. Brad Stevens is so strict to his lineup.

A great chance for him however as even for a 10-day contract, there's a designated salary for it.

Agreed.  The speed of the NBA is what these old but goodies can't keep up with.  On offense I'm sure he can still shoot the lights out it's like riding a bike.  It's the defensive liability he will be.  Especially at the guard position. Drive and kick all day against these dudes as the rest of the team needs to collapse the paint which opens up shooters.  Unless covid hits hard he will sit pine I would imagine.

Thanks also for that heads up. I also do the same just watching the highlights and not the entire game.

Stevens should still look for his squad. Even a new head coach is there. The system that works before which continues to bring them as a competitor from the east side should not be changed.

Or, if there's a change I should be for the betterment and not what we are seeing right now, they are not the same Boston
compared to how they are performing for the last 3-5 years.

No, it's not like that, he can play on states that didn't require that you have a jab. So as far as I can remember, he is still not eligible to play in Nets uniform, but maybe he can play on other states or something.

And he still refuses to take the vaccines, so it's really up to him if he wanted to take a stand and be the face of anti-vaccine in the States.

That is not favorable on the Nets, it will only ruin their chemistry as Irving would be on and off to the team. I think Nets are already thinking of trading Irving now, they are just waiting for the right timing, besides, they don't lose because Irving is not paid for the timebeing.

A consolation reward for the Nets. I mean, if Irving is not being paid and KD still lifting them, they are not losing anything.

It was brought before about the rumor trade but still no confirmation, and besides, who will take this call? trading player who doesn't want to

comply with implemented rule, no offense with the skills and talent of Irving, but he's not getting any younger, and he also has injuries.

It will be a good call for Nets trading him and add another good star to play with both KD and Harden..

Luka Doncic. As soon as he was cleared to play after an injury, now he is suffering from health and safety protocol. This kid had missed a lot of games already and his road for winning the MVP race is slimming down. Another 10 days so how many games will that be.
Giannis also hit by the virus and 2 more games was postponed. Is this a sign to go back in the bubble or will they just keep on postponing games until they were all cleared?
It's a good start but everything is falling apart this mid season and we might even see a bad All Star game if this continues.

A great chance for him however as even for a 10-day contract, there's a designated salary for it.

I'm not sure we will see a good impact from him, AFAIB, Joe Johnson is no longer the same when he was still with the Atlanta Hawks, lots of young players already who can play better and deserved to be given a chance, of course we will never forget him, he will always be of the greatest NBA Player back when he was still with the Hawks, but it's time for retirement now, if he still play, then maybe we should not expect much from him.

Obviously, he is no longer on is prime, IT was given a chance by the Lakers and was doing good. So why not take the chance for Joe to play again in 2021? at least he can still earn some money and play with this young talents and have the one time and nostalgic experience for him and his fans to see Joe on the floor again.

I can agree with you on that, IT was really doing well as he averages 11.7 points so far with the LA Lakers. Hopefully this good stats will continue and I'm pretty sure he'll benefit on the current situation of the Lakers as they are still experimenting to find the right chemistry so they'll get the consistency they always wanted.

It's too early to tell, we need more games to see his consistency. But actually, I don't feel his presence as the Lakers are not hyping me anymore, I mean they are not winning games as expected, so this team is just an ordinary team that struggles despite having a lot of all star players.
Actually, I also don't see any improvements of IT this season ans yeah his presence is also not felt next to Rondo, infact in their last game vs The Suns, IT only scored 3 points in his 26 minutes in the game while Rondo scored zero in his 23 minutes time. Lakers is indeed struggling now especially without Anthony Davis, though they're consisted of star players, their chemistry isn't just good enough.
Now they're placed 6th in the Western Conference, it looks like Nuggets or Mavericks will be able to fill their spot soon.

Milwaukee Bucks still managed to win in the absence of Giannis. Their opponent, Rockets, was at the last place of its conference though but still it was a nice win by 126-106. J. Holiday continued to take responsibility in this game also and made a nice double-double having 24 pts and 10 reb. This time, Middleton also helped him having 23 pts. They are at the 3rd place in their conference now.
I'm not surprised with that, they played against the Rockets who are not a good team, or I should say at the bottom of the standing while the Bucks are in a playoff standing. Bucks are a team that does not only rely on Giannis, they have improved already that's why they were successful, if you see their series against the Hawks, they missed Giannis in few games but they still manage to win.
I mean surely Bucks is a good team even without giannis and rockets is a bottom team but sometimes losing your superstar could mean the worst for a team. Remember each time Cavs lost Lebron, first to Miami and then to Lakers, they became a very terrible team, it took a while for them to be like this, the first year Lebron left for lakers Cavs looked like a g-league team to be honest.

So, losing your superstar could have bad results and it is not really understatment to say that Bucks is good even without Giannis, even if he missed all games, even if he was traded to another team. They wouldn't be a championship level team, but easily be a playoff level team without him as well. That is not an easy thing, and you put that team against a team that is clearly tanking and you have yourself an easy matchup for sure, there is no denying that at all.

It's definately falling apart.  I'm not a fan of the bubble, I got disinterested in basketball without fans.  It seems like practice without anyone in the stands.  Not that there is a perfect answer but I say they roll with the season as is and just manage.  The league will get watered down but it's way better than trying to watch bubble ball.

In the end, vaccines are not effective at all, and Irving has a point not getting himself vaccinated as the virus can still spread even if a person already gets vaccinated. I think as long as the body can endure the effect of the virus, a person is safe enough and just have to undergo the safety protocol in order not to infect people around him.

So what's the point? I think they should allow Irving to play even not vaccinated.

Nah, I doubt that. They'll never going to step back to the bubble, that's just so boring and doesn't have the same energy without the crowd. As long as the virus doesn't spread like wild fire to most of the players in the NBA, I think they're fine with just cancelling some games and putting players into health safety protocols.
I really have enough of this Covid thing it ruins everything. How long would we be dealing with this plandemic sucks.

There are so many games waiting to be played tonight. But the most interesting one among them is definitely Golden State Warriors - Memphis Grizzlies. These teams are both having a great season now but GSW are a few steps ahead of Grizzlies. Because they are very lucky that they have a legendary player like Stephen Curry. And I think that he will have a great game in this. I expect GSW to win this one but I suppose it will still be a close game.

... Is this a sign to go back in the bubble or will they just keep on postponing games until they were all cleared?
Teams still have the option to hire some players on short-term contracts so I think the NBA will choose the latter. I guess it depends on how long this will continue and they have exhausted all their resources and options. I also read a statement from a player that they are actually fine and don't feel seriously ill. I think NBA is just too cautious and follows standard protocols.

Completely agree.

The whole roster construction is kind of bad.

They are essentially putting together a group of has-beens and hoping that everything will work out. Sure, they have like 5 MVP caliber players... But apart from Lebron & AD the rest are way past their prime.

How about Westbrook? He can still an MVP caliber, he is just not performing his best capacity because he is playing along with MVP caliber Players, and I don't think he is the problem here, it should be the coaching staff that should be blamed for not making the LA Lakers with great chemistry, or the style of play maybe not working for them.

Everyone is a problem honestly. There are times that someone will step up, but on the next game, they will have off-night plays. Critics are silent when Lakers are winning and when losing, it's like a big sin that they lose and people will put blame on whoever did the worst performance or simply, it's an automatic Lebron or Westbrook, regardless if these players provide a good stats on that game or underperforming.

The solution? No other choice but to just keep going. I don't believe trading one or two Lakers pieces will solve that chemistry problem. There is chemistry but others teams are just doing great. They just have to maintain their spot at the playoffs to avoid the play-in. As a matter of fact, they are just 3 games' win behind the 4th spot. Although it shouldn't be their expected standings at least it's not that they are totally a trash team.

Westbrook isn't past his prime but he isn't an mvp type player.  He puts up stats up but I wouldn't ever consider him the best player in the league.  He isn't even a top 2 player on his own team let alone the league.  Not knocking the dude it just is what it is.

So what's the point? I think they should allow Irving to play even not vaccinated.

About those states who imposed a restriction that only vaccinated players are allowed to play in-game, NBA has nothing to do with that. It was a legal context. And even they will allow Irving to play, it won't happen.

I'm not just so sure why Irving is still out of the game wherein he can play outside those regions. Is it really his team's decision or Irving himself is totally not interested to play because of his ego.

Anyways, there's already an update that he will now come back. Let's wait then although for now, it's uncertain.

Cheesy
Does he think that he is the authority in the NBA? That he can just make a request whatever he wants to.
We know that he is an elite point guard and an all-star player but having this kind of attitude? This will destroy his career TBH. His ego is at its highest that he is requesting things like this. Its good to see that the Nets didn't accept his request.

His reason is;

Well, being vaccinated isn't mandatory "as of now" and I don't think that it will be mandatory in the US as they have this "we have freedom, we can do whatever we want" mentality.
If he doesn't want to then so be it. The Nets are the top though without him and if it continues to be like this, there is a high chance that they will trade this egoistic player.
