The Brooklyn Nets haw won their game today and that will make them gain the number one seed in the eastern conference right now without Uncle Drew. looks like everything is easy for them when they work together as a team with James Harden and the others.

Actually I was able to watch 3/4 of the match, unfortunately, I have to go to a lab to take some test.

But it was a very tough game for the Nets, they didn't cover the spread but enough for them to get a win. The Cavs was leading most of the way and I thought that they are going to pull an upset. But then again, the Nets have Durant, so they were able to come back take the lead and it was a back and forth game. I like James Johnson attitude in the game here, he only scored 9 points, but it was very crucial points.

It's a very small sample size to be saying that they don't need Kyrie, and the absence of Kyrie is almost certainly going to come back to haunt them later on during the playoffs.

The Bulls are right there with them in the East as well.

No LeBron tonight for the Lakers vs the Knicks. A shame because the game is nationally televised on TNT. I’m not sure the Lakers need him to win this game, especially after playing so many games without him lately, so hopefully they get a W and make it an interesting game. Seems like a pretty weak TV schedule for TNT’s game night this week…

I still think that Lebron is sneakly dirty player and have always been like that, it is not a new thing and the smarter he gets with age the sneakier his dirty plays become. When you check how many uncalled fouls a player has I bet you that Lebron would come out as the first one.

However, the discussion was about how he is no longer "lebron" lebron, like he is not some larger than life big player who changes the narrative wherever he goes and so forth. He already won one with Lakers and if he never wins with them ever again then I would say he still managed to do something decent, he has 2 with Miami, he has one with Cavs which I am sure is the most important one for him and he has one with Lakers now, wherever he went, he got a ring and that is all that matters. Nevertheless I do not think that he is as bad as people imagine him to be, he is not at his best peak level of course but he is not "bad" neither, definitely still one of the best, but maybe not THE best anymore.

And the games is on MSG so I guess the Knicks are going to take this W. It might be very close though as the Lakers still have Davis, Russ and Melo. Hopefully though, coach Vogel will give more minutes in the rotation for Dwight as he has been playing very well offensively and defensively in the last couple of games even hitting 3's and making a lot of block shots.

I think AD is day to day as well.  Normally I would agree but the Knicks haven't been good at home.  I've watched every knick game this year and if AD is playing he is a matchup nightmare for the Knicks.  Mitch is out for the Knicks who is our rim protector and Noel can't play the whe game.  Taj is hurting and is very undersized to cover AD anyway.  Thibs is going to have to get creative here tonight.

I think these dirty style plays from LeBron are going to become more and more common as his aging lowers his play level to be below some of the young guys in the league. I don’t he’s going to have an easy time adjusting to him not being the most dominant player on the court.

You are missing the point Dupee. He wasn't a dirty player when he was younger since he can dominate the game with his skills and superior athleticism. He may as well resort to using tricks and some dirty plays to outmaneuver his opponents as his body deteriorates due to age. He won't be able to outrun or outjump younger guys now.

The point I'm making is more on the future and not just limited to the incident. Og also pointed out that we could see dirty style or "out of frustration" play as say it happening more often.

Isaiah Stewart is not a key player for Detroit, only averages on what is expected for a rookie/sophomore so I don't see the need for LeBron to actually get rid of this kid in the game,

Irrelevant. It doesn't really matter if the guy is a superstar or average as long as he's playing on the court.

I do agree that Lebron is not a dirty player. And in this situation, it seems that he didn't intentionally try to throw that elbow on Stewart. They are all jockeying for position and no one want's to give up and perhaps James is trying to regain control and accidentally throw the elbow to Stewart face. And as per report, he will be suspended one game without pay.

I guess some times intention doesn't matter in cases like this, James isn't and has never been dirty player (this being his first suspension and 2nd ejected over the course of his illustrious career would also corroborate that fact)  It was pretty obvious that James was trying to apologize immediately even before Stewart stood up perhaps knowing the impact that the fist could have made, but the damage has been done already intentional or not. I'm sure Stewart would reflect on the replay seeing that James was sorry instantly and probably didn't mean for it to happen.

Yes, that's what I'm trying to say as well, and not defending Lebron, but his numbers as far as suspension and ejection will tell us that he is not a dirty player. He may be a 'flopper' though, but that is very different than a player who wanted to hurt or retaliate.

In any case, the league will really have to take control of these players, as we all know we just had the Jokic-Morris incident and now this one.

They could have won this game if they have just taken it easy instead of raining low percentage threes that cost them to lose possession every time. they lose this game because the problem is they don't usually compete inside they just throw outside which is not currently working at all. I thought that the Knicks would lose this game after leading as high as 25 points in the 2nd quarter because they let the Lakers tie the game at the 3rd quarter.

And it seems that they've ran out of gas chasing a huge lead. It was WB on the third who lead the way. Melo though hit his last 3 point to tie the count in the 4th quarter but that was it. Another that he has missed a lot of 3 point. THT has a horrendous shooting night as well. Randall got his 5th foul but the Lakers wasn't able to take advantage with 9 minutes left with a lot of bad shots. And it was just another bad performance from the Lakers.

On one hand, I think it is a mindset problem. On the other hand, you sometimes have people on the court that are “counter productive” especially when it comes to playing defense. This year it’s Deaundre Jordan as it was Gasol last year. These players put to much stress on the defense requiring players to have to hustle to hard trying to chase guys off the 3pt line and protect the paint. Westbrook can also be very counter productive when he’s constantly taking bad shots early in the play clock and turning the ball over with wild passes. I think they playing A.Reaves to much already but we don’t have much depth and Doumbouya definitely needs playing time. I also hate that we never got a true replacement PF/C to fill that roll that Markieff Morris would sometimes play

Still finding the chemistry, I think that is no mystery that with many superstars the coach will have a hard time rotating them. I disagree though, they play good defense, AD and WB play good defense it's that they can't translate their good defense and score points.

The problem is the whole system, they traded the key players and they risk on Westbrook who can't jive well on the old players. We can't blame Westbrook as he is just playing the way he used to play, and the Lakers organization already know that before they acquired him, so that's the risk they take and they fail on this trade.

Hmm, but Gasol didn't play that much in the Lakers uniform last year so we can't compare his performance with DJ. And as far as DJ, I think he is doing good specially Dwight Howard. So the Lakers looks solid in the middle and they also have AD to play the center position if the other teams chooses to play small on them. Maybe the system itself is flawed and the Lakers need to adjust. So let's see once Lebron is back, hopefully they can start to put up a winning streak just to take things going for them.
