So what do you think about this news, will he finally have a long term contract after this 10 day contract will expire?

I doubt IT will have an impact on about 2-3 games within the 10-day contract for the Dallas Mavericks. But who knows. The only reason that IT will have a long contract is if the team really expects something good for him for long.

Or hope that Mavericks will consider him as their other Point Guard as Luka Doncic is having a continuous absence and Jalen Brunson is not consistent.

Or he was really hired to be just a sort of player as a patch because of what is the current situation in the NBA. Not only him but there are a lot of comeback NBA players given the chance to be in the league but it is obvious that they are not going to have a long contract.

Or hope that Mavericks will consider him as their other Point Guard as Luka Doncic is having a continuous absence and Jalen Brunson is not consistent.

Maverick should rely on KP as the second scorer of the team. And he was supposedly to compliment Luka however, we have not seen any good performance yet from him this season.

The news of the day seems to be that Ben Simmons has now officially missed out on over $10,000,000 in salary for his refusal to play on the Sixers.  That's a pretty big bag to leave on the table over some hurt feelings, but I guess I understand where he's coming from.  If you are unhappy in a situation, you have the right to leave.  Granted he's a bit of a bitch for doing so and not living up to his responsibilities and commitments, but you can't force a bitch to stay with you...  I imagine at some point in the near future the offers for Ben are going to start getting worse, not better.  I still think he should go to the Kings, but they don't have much to offer.  I think the Lakers might be dangling Russ out there, but who knows.

I imagine at some point in the near future the offers for Ben are going to start getting worse, not better.
If he will not be traded, he might struggle to find a team when his contract is over. he still believes that he has a high value but what we are seeing now is no teams are willing to risk on the demand of the 76ers for a trade of Simons.

I still think he should go to the Kings, but they don't have much to offer.  I think the Lakers might be dangling Russ out there, but who knows.
I guess Westbrook's experiment with the Lakers is over, he does not really fit, so why not try Ben Simmons? I think 76ers would be pretty much open for talks as Westbrook would be a huge addition to them.

I just read that Chris Bosh is hoping to use this pandemic nonsense to get himself a 10 day contract with the Miami Heat.  He's been itching to get back on the court ever since his health issues caused him an early retirement.  He's said for years that he's still in playing shape and is ready willing and able to do so.  While I'm not sure any team would really want the risk of a player dying on the court, it might be nice to give him a 10 day contract and use the current horrible situation that NBA teams are in to at least bring joy to one man and his fans.  Bosh deserves it and I hope we get to see him take a jumper from the elbow before the season ends.

@OgNasty, we thought that LA will never be able to come back due to his heart problem but he was playing very well this season. Heat might give him a chance but if other teams will be interested in him, like the Lakers, maybe he can grab the opportunity and play with Lebron whom he is familiar with already since they both won a championship back in Miami.

I have a mix feeling about getting Bosh back play competitive basketball even for a short period. I'm not a medical expert in any way but I understand that blood clotting is a serious health issue. I may be over cautious here but I don't want to risk seeing him collapsing on the court due to stroke or heart failure caused by blood clots.

The Dallas Mavericks added former All-Star guard Isaiah Thomas to their roster on Wednesday via a 10-day contract under the NBA’s COVID-related hardship allowance. He arrived just in time to suit up for the Mavs in their 95-94 road loss to the Sacramento Kings.
So what do you think about this news, will he finally have a long term contract after this 10 day contract will expire?

This new 10-day contract with the Mavs is another great opportunity for Isaiah Thomas. However, now it's difficult to predict whether they will sign him or not, considering that his recent performance for the Lakers wasn't impressive. Although I wouldn't be surprised if Mark Cuban offered Thomas a minimum 1-year contract.

This 10-day contracts that he gets on each team might have an impact but he must have to get more 10 day contract for the teams to be interested to get him.
His 10 day contract in Lakers went up good in the first games but not in the last games and his first game in Mavericks ended up as a lose with just 6 points and in just today's game, he didn't play.

If I'm the coach, I think I will just stick with Brunson than getting Thomas into the team and giving him a contract but lets see if how this 10 day contract plays out. If the Mavericks are interested in him then at least they might give him a 1 year contract and that would be a good start for him.

Well Aldridge was also advise by his doctor not to play, and he did, but it seems the was cleared already and look at the numbers he is putting in Nets. But the big difference is that Bosh has not been active for many years and it could be a problem once he comes back as he might not be in a shape.

So let's see how it goes for him, who wouldn't want to see him play? He has big in Toronto and then winning with Miami before he quit.

What?! Next will be Michael Jordan and Shaq having a 10-day contract.  Grin
Oh! That's because Mario Chalmers received the same contract. I do not agree with this type of decision. There are a lot of players in other leagues who are young and looking for exposure. An opportunity to be seen by scouts and maybe get a good contract using effort and performance after 2-3 games of playtime.
When they get old players, they are giving away wins for teams like Sacramento Kings with a super-fast Fox.  Smiley

For me, that's a good deal if ever he performs and fits himself well with this 10-day contract.

If Mavs gave him that chance to play with a good amount and the chance to really play with a regular contract, IT still have it, maybe with the

Lakers things are not working that well, but if he will play for more games and start to fuel his talent, it will be back, I believe,

We just need to see him to play comfortably with the Mavs and contribute, that might spark that chance to have a good contract signing.

Lakers gave us a nice new year gift last night.  Grin  I mean especially Lebron did it. Because in the game they completely destroyed Portland by 139-106, Lebron showed a superb performance with 43 points and 14 rebounds. Westbrook got a 50% field goal success but he still didn't score many points. He still managed to make a triple-double with 15 points, 13 rebounds and 12 assists. And Lillard's poor performance played an important role in this loss also. He was able to score only 18 points. He was performing double this performance in his previous recent games.

Smiley

I guess those scouts are looking for veteran players that can contribute to the game in those 10 games. At least what they are getting is money's worth for those players and we can say that they have been milk in that 10 games.

I agree that Fox is super fast, but the Kings are not going nowhere this season and very inconsistent. Maybe after everything has settled down, me might not see this chance being given to those veteran players.

Not only in this game, but Lebron has been playing high level basketball and has been scoring like 30 points ++ in his last couple of games and it's good that at least they have won and break their slump because you don't know what's going to happen with the team. They have traded Rondo already and probably there could be more trades in the future. Forget about Westbrook scoring, he is padding his stats with triple double everything.

Indeed he is. The competitive drive of him is back. I think what happened at the start of this roster was he expected too much from his new team mates who are really good players. But that should not be the case and he realized it. Fortunately, the realization came as early as possible or it may ruin their chance for a playoffs if he keeps on relying on them. He is the leader of that team and all should start from him while his teammates will surely follow him afterward.
Look at Melo now, 4/7 at the far line contributing 16 points to win against the Trail Blazers. That's because they are now busy defending Lebron giving him more Melo more space to shoot.

Bosh is very old and he should probably just stay put - his legacy is already cemented anyway.

It would be very nice to see him back but I think that the risks that would have to be taken to get him back on the court would be unjustified.

Let's not kid ourselves here. Bosh is not going to be a contributor, let alone any substantial one, on any team.

He is not old yet, he is only Bosh 37 years old just like Lebron James. Age is just a number and if Bosh can contribute to the team, why not give him a chance to come back and play. Besides, if ever the heat will sign him again, he will not be the oldest player on the team, they still have Udonis Haslem who is already 41 years old.

The Trailblazers are right now one of the worst defensive teams in the NBA if not the worst and see that open dunk of Lebron in the 3rd? That is just a proof that they really is a bad defensive team.

It seems like the smaller line up of Lakers are working with them and they've done it also in 2020 Bubble where they won a championship. Lebron as the point center is working with them since they have a faster pace compare to when they got one big in their starting line up. Davis don't want to play center and he's inefficient when playing at 5 so its needed that they need to put another center which slows the pace of the team. With having a starting line up like that, the pace is faster and it is working with the Lakers very well. Maybe they can continue to have a starting line up like this in their future games.

A good start of the year for Lebron as he dominated the whole Blazers team.

I think it all boils down as to how Bosh have invested on his body, just like what Lebron does. He really take care of his body in his prime years and that's why Lebron is still very fast and can go for a fast break dun just like in their game against Portland. Not sure what the state of Bosh though, maybe he is still active despite the fact that he has retired years ago. Not saying that he will be a good contributor, but why not give him the benefit of the doubt and see if he can go against top player in his position?
