2024 NBA Season

I’m watching this Nets/Bucks preseason game and Ben Simmons has 6 points and 6 assists at the end of the first quarter. I’m usually in agreement with Doris Burke, but she’s talking about his stat line and I’m watching the game… Ben has been missing defensive assignments, not going for rebounds, not rolling off the screen, and passing up open jump shots. I actually think he looks pretty bad out there, but he’ll probably get a first half triple double…

Simmons ended up with 7 points, 8 rebounds and   10 assists. Not bad knowing that he isn't 100% and at least he is doing what he really wants to do, and it is to pass and pass the ball. It's good to see him playing again now with a different team.

Unlike when he is in Philly when they want him to shoot threes, I guess he doesn't need to do it now that he is in Brooklyn because the roster is loaded with offensive players like Kyrie, KD, O'neal, Harris and Curry. I think he will be comfortable now because they will not oblige him to shoot because as a point guard of the team, the main objective is to carry the ball and to pass to an open teammate.

The Nets won by 10 points. It's only a pre-season game but still helpful to build the chemistry of both teams.

He was caught by the hype of every guard should be shooting threes. They forgot to just let him do what he is best at.
Perimeter shooting should be enough to make a successful hesitation move, and he has a choice to use his body instead to force the ball near the rim.
When it comes to making more assists, he is in good hands with Steve Nash. That guy is the definition of being unselfish and does specialize in passing the ball.
This season if Ben will be healthy in 80 games he might make more double-doubles in assists and rebounds instead of points.

Aside from his passing, he should still add some focus to his offense. It will be a good spark between KD, Kyrie and him.

Since both stars are offensive and Simmons will feed them the ball, they can take it or pass it back to Simmons to
go strong to the basket, still young and his upper body is really strong. It's more on how he will take the obligation
in helping the Nets to win more games and a possible chase to win the title.

Aside from the fact that he really have some skills, he is doing everything he could and bring a good performance even if it was just a pre-season game because he is aiming for the Warriors to give him an extension. I mean, any team could probably give him the figure he wanted because he is really a superstar in the making but only the Warriors these days can help him to have more rings in the future.

I believe the Warriors are giving Poole a great opportunity to grow. Not to mention, he will have some experienced players to help him, for example Curry and Thompson.
If he improves, gaining consistency and others important attributes, he will become a great diamond that the Warriors are polishing.

He is already polished, but yeah, I believed that there are rooms for improvement, he is still very young and the opportunity is there for him in the Warriors, putting aside the difference with Green and hopefully they will still be very professional and will play to bring the Warriors another ring this season.

And we have also seen Wiseman in the pre-games and yes the hype is real for this kind. Warriors is still very dangerous team and who knows, they can retain the championship.

What an interesting season to begin with, there has been a lot players that hasn't played last season because of their respective injuries and now they are coming back, bouncing back and looking forward to get back what they supposed to have. Especially Wiseman, I believe the kid has a lot of potential, just waiting to be unlocked by Steve Kerr.

Might just be pre-season game, but the chemistry is already there I might say and they could be back as one of the favorites to win this year if everyone remains healthy and focus on one goal.

MJ was one of the greatest, probably the greatest ever basketball player ever lived, but he is definitely not a good owner at all by the looks of how the team has done since he took over.

It's worth noting that the Hornets have always been the underdog, even when Jordan wasn't the owner and the team was called the Bobcats. They've never won a championship, a conference, and a division. Besides, they've only reached the playoffs 3 times in the last 18 years. So even if Jordan really wants to improve the Hornets' results, he will need to invest a lot more money and time.

There is a huge difference between being a great player and to become a great owner.
There's nothing much an owner can do if there's not enough funds to attract good players in comparison with the well established teams, and good players does not play for a team who's struggling to get to the playoffs and receiving lesser contract. 
The Charlotte Hornets needs to have a pick like they did in 96. However, I think they are really terrible in building a good team lol.

Obviously, that is the case for the Hornets in the last couple of years, maybe it was a combination of bad luck, not getting good players in the draft or traded some of their players. But I think teams really need some time to become a champion like what happen to the Dubs, they have a lot of good and solid players in the past, but it was not a recipe to win championship. But when everything smiles on them, specially lady luck, they got Steph, Draymond and then Klay and then become multiple champions.

The good part is, they are an offensive team. So I think they won't force the shooting issue. He can train it if he wants to but I doubt they will expect too much about it.

Kerr, general manager Bob Myers and players have met to decide how to best proceed — including Green and Poole talking to each other.

Watching porn or having a relationship inside the team is worst now than knocking down your teammate. 
Here I thought NBA is getting stricter about its rules but I am back to the reality that they are not. Leaked video or not they should be fair about their punishments. What if other players will try the same thing and no camera caught it? Even if there is, they won't be afraid to do it too because they can pay up.
It's safe to assume that this had been the most controversial summer of the league. So many happened in just months of waiting before the tip-off.

It should be fair and square, a fine and a suspension should be given to any players or staff that have broken some rules and shows unprofessionalism. It seems to me that the Warriors is not taking it seriously even if they knew that Poole's family isn't happy of what had happened. It's really fortunate enough that it was caught on video because if not, almost 100% we wouldn't know about it. What a controversial off-season!

Yeah, there's not so many update transactions on Hornets, only 6 transactions in this season. Unlike the other big team who regularly sign, resigned and traded their players to get the better one. I think they're also doesn't have a huge money to get a good players and the good players wouldn't want to play on where the team isn't big. It's hard to find a good player who want to build from the bottom, so there's no surprise if low tier team keep losing.

It is. I thought they are clear about how strict they are with the rules, but it seems like they are short on this one case about Draymond Green.
Anyway, he will be back in the roster, and it was said in reports that him and Poole already talked. I wish there won't be another incident like this and Green have learned his lesson. There will be eyes everywhere and he should be careful about his sudden uncontrollable anger.

Nuggets seems to have a lot of talent this year after a win against the Clippers. I wish they could avoid injuries from now on. Jokic will need all the help he could get.

I think the beginning of every year you don't see injuries being reported.  Unsure when they have to report them but just knowing from the Knicks, quentin grimes was hurt for the first 3 pre season games but doesn't show up.  I'm sure across the board it's like that.  Once the regular season games start I think you start to see a different reporting requirement where each team starts piling in theor injuries.

Or the management might have talk to Jordan Poole before making the decision and maybe Poole doesn't want Green to be fine or something that's why this is their decision. In any case we will see what will be the full extend of this incident. Green could lost the respect from the young guys because of this.

Their big 3 is back, Jokic, Murray and Michael Porter Jr, so this is a exciting season for the Nuggets. And see if Jokic can make it 3 in a row as MVP.

Seems to have some notable names on the injured list already, specially Celtics Robert Williams who have played tremendously as a center back up for Al.

And then veterans like Danny Green and Joe Ingles and Ricky Rubio, but nevertheless its not a season ending for the majority except Chet Holmgren so for sure we will see these players making a comeback this season.

Well, sad to say but since 1989 they haven't tasted the championship they could only make it to the Easter Conference Semifinals, and after that no more, and from 2017 up to now they have missed Playoffs and that is 6 consecutive times sad to say they can not afford good quality players but they all missed many opportunities In getting one, or didn't really see a potential for a certain player,

Well, one should step down from getting all the scores to being the ball handler or making great assists, I think they could only learn from the Golden State Warriors who they really are vocal about their teamwork, and right now they are making progress while the Brooklyn Nets is still struggling

So knowing that, I would say there is a 0% chance the Warriors resign both Poole and Green. The only real question is if Green takes his player option or not, but I don’t see him being on the team after next year no matter what.

Not a good decision to keep both from a business point of view IMO even without their recent "fight". I already said that Green is the most replaceable among the current core players due to his declining performance so I also see the Warriors opting for the players that would carry the club in the future.

At moments like this, the Lakers' chemistry seems pretty bad. Is there any news regarding the Lakers management's plans to trade Westbrook, or is Beverley just affecting him so badly?

There was actually another video that went viral where it looks like he also ignored a team huddle call by Pat Beverley. He addressed both videos in an interview,
- Pre-game excuse: He's doing his pregame ritual so he couldn't join.
- Bev huddle excuse: He's talking to the coaches about the previous play.

Regardless, the decision shouldn't be influenced by whether Poole will just let it go away or not.

That incident is serious and the management should not tolerate it just because it's "Draymond Green".

Anyways, have to move on now as it was settled properly***. But we don't know the real score behind the curtains.
