With James harden trying to force his way out of Philly to the clippers, Ben Simmons shipped out & Markelle Fultz being a flop, it seemed like Philly was resting its hopes on Joel Embiid. Well, now Embiid is saying he doesn’t care what team he plays for, he just wants a championship. It looks like ‘Trust the Process’ may officially be a failure soon.

Embiid's desire to win his first title is understandable. However, I've heard other rumors about him and the 76ers. There's a rumor that Embiid wants to go the way of Dirk and Kobe. In other words, he wants to stay with the 76ers for his entire career and win a title in Philadelphia. If that's true, then the 76ers management should think about building a really strong team before Embiid runs out of patience.

These words were also said for Damian Lillard. We know what the situation is now.
If they can't win the championship he leaves the team, it's that simple, because such players left their teams.

I get where these folks are coming from. Chips are important to these elite players, especially because they are over 30 years old and desperately desire one before retiring. Aside from the salary, it appears to be their first priority. That is why they are always changing teams and collaborating with other superstars, the same with other franchises.

I don’t like players who are very tall, but skinny build. I personally believe that they have a bigger chance of getting injured. If tall players are medium build and powerful, I don’t have any problems. But some players like Bol Bol can actually get injured easily in my opinion. And it will be more problematic towards the later stages of his career.
The first impression of many with tall yet skinny is that they're unhealthy and can easily be beaten by bigger guys. But it is that the game is changing and the style of playing basketball especially in the NBA have been improving and upgrading. Tall guys are looking easy to get injured but that's part of it for every player.

Yes, Tall but slim player who will be placed at the number 5 position might suffer from an injury,

Or they mostly be taken as liable for the team, as the player will go on one on one and try to demolish them using
the upper body strength and get an easy two plus a foul.

It's had competition for those kind of body shapes, though if you can play like KD where skills sets are really
amazing, your space inside the NBA will be wide.
That's what other teams trying to scout for these tall and skinny players. They're looking for the next KD and with that speed and athleticism that he's got, who knows that in the future with all of these tall rookies that are playing is going to be the next one.
It has just become a trend when Wemby was taking all of the spotlight and that's a lot for him to absorb. So, even though there have been other better prospects that are lowkey, still, this trend has never stopped until now. But we shall see the pulse of the majority when the games have started and we'll see how these type of players play and if they're going to do well or not. That's what many fans are waiting for to see.

It’s a sign that the players are being paid too much money in my opinion. This is why we keep seeing super teams popping up. Players taking less money to team up used to be honorable, but now they are all making so much money that people are praising star players for only taking 35-40 million dollars per year to help their team. Not to mention endorsements make up a big part of their income and they get more endorsements with championships under their belt.

It's a decision between LOYALTY and CHAMPIONSHIP.
It's a decision whether you will stay loyal to your team even though you aren't winning at title, or you go to another team in order to have a higher chance to win at a title.

Embiid has trust with the front office of Philly that's why he chooses to stay with the Sixers. On the other hand, it seems like Harden really wants to be out with the team, so I just hope that the players that Philly will get in exchange will be a good fit for Embiid. His statement regarding him staying with the Sixers will change in 3-4 years or even in 1-2 years depending on the situation of the team. I don't believe in loyalty though I've seen players who stayed with their team, and won a title like the late Kobe, Dirk, and Haslem to name a few, and this is what Embiid is believing in.

Lillard also said the same thing, but it seems like the team got worsen, and worsen to the point that he can't take it anymore thus, requested a trade to the Heat. Cheesy

Fans doesn't engaged much in body structure, exceptionally in the case where the player is consistent and keep an outstanding performance. Tall players are more prone to be insecure on the court, and they are more likely to sustain injuries during games, particularly the tough ones. Furthermore, not all coaches desire slender athletes; some have the strength to play the game, but their body structure will simply make them appear weaker and more vulnerable to their opponents, who are hugh. In the case of LeBron James, he's one of the biggest names in the game, and his powerful physique sends a clear message that he's ready to play in any game-specific style.

They already know there's a lot of money coming in, so they take advantage of it. I don't think we will see another team who are paid less but can win a championship. Owners today don't even care about luxury tax anymore. They must be making more even if they need to pay that amount. It's business as usual but I am kind of curious how they can still make profits despite building a super team. Maybe a year or more we will see a player making $100 per year and it won't even be surprising anymore.

To be honest, Joel Embiid doesn't strike me as a loyal type of player who will play and retire as a 76ers until his time is up.

In the next few years, there is a huge chance that he might start and ask for a trade if there's no improvement within the roster because he's more of a player who will seek a team that has more chances of winning a championship title instead of staying on a team and be like Kobe and Dirk regardless of what will be the result at every end of the season.

Dirk was actually more loyal IMO after all those years they failed to win a championship and still stayed until they get it in 2011. Kobe on the other hand was lucky to have every player they had in their roster compliments perfectly with each other. After Shaq left, he got Pau, Lamar, Artest and couple of other role players that was very effective in their rotation. We don't even know what Kobe's next move if none of those have worked for them. Don't get me wrong I am not hating on late Kobe Bryant, I was just stating some possible scenarios, because it only takes extraordinary kind of loyalty to stay on a losing team while wasting away your talent and retire without getting a single ring.
But you're not wrong though, Embiid is most likely going to become the Lillard 2.0 who will demand a trade if he thinks he did not get enough help and the management are not helping him. Otherwise, he'll opt out when he hits free agency.
Also, KD is actually over-doing it, so that kind of hurt his legacy LOLOL!

Embiid has not shown any interest in leaving the team thus far, but there are rumors of his teammates, like James Harden, wanting a trade. In this situation, it might be worth considering trading Harden, as he hasn't performed at his best with the team. Embiid is the franchise player and team captain, so the focus should be on surrounding him with capable players who will commit to the system. Additionally, having a coach with a championship mentality is crucial for their success.
He might not shown his intentions directly, but thru his words, you can clearly that he is willing to get out of Philly and go to a championship contender team. Philly though has surrounded him with good players like a prime Ben, before the breakdown, and we have seen them getting closer, if not for that heart breaking lost to the Raptors lead by Kawhi. And now that Harden's want to leave, then it will be Embiid job again and it might be very difficult to him because he need another good A-caliber player to help him.
Embiid looks quite happy where he is, even if they do not end up getting a championship, that doesn't mean he has to be upset there, sure he will of course want to be a big star there but that doesn't mean that he is going to ask for a trade.
I'm not sure if you heard what Joel said, let me quote it for you,

Quote
“I just want to win a championship. Whatever it takes. I don’t know where that’s going to be. Whether it’s Philly or anywhere else. I just want to have a chance to accomplish that. I want to see what it feels like to win my first one, then you can think about the next one. It’s not easy, but it takes more than one, two, three guys. You got to have good people around you.”

https://www.sbnation.com/nba/2023/7/17/23797436/joel-embiid-trade-request-video-comments-philadelphia-76ers

So it's very clear that he might look for other teams and leave Phlly to chase that ring.

We need to wait and see, if he does want to get traded, there aren't that many teams that lack center position and could content, because last years finalists had Jokic and Adebayo, and they won't give those players up, which leaves like maybe Lakers and maybe Warriors, those are the only ones I can see at the moment that could want him there and it should not be that weird for them to get him, but who are they going to trade for in that case? Sixers can't get anyone in that case.
Maybe not this year or this season, but perhaps we will see how everything goes for them at the start. James Harden had ask for a trade already and Sixers management are working on it. So time is not on the side of Sixers if they want Embiid to stay. They need to get another player as I have said to compliment his style of play and win at least 1 ring when Joel is still in his prime.

It's sports and there are freak athletes and I think they deserved a good pay if they really had that talent and teams are willing to shell out millions of dollar to get that player and hope that it will help them win championships ring.

And as we can see as well, high school and college players are dreaming of this kind of contract that's why they try to play hard and show their true potential because one day they could be in the NBA with a good amount of contract and obviously their lives can change to the better.

Noone deserves 260 million dollars max contract extension or anywhere close. People need to boycott sports honestly. The cost of a ticket is outrageous. Then add in food and drinks, parking, and any kind of memorabilia or Souvenir and you are spending nearly 200$ for a cheap seat to the game you want to watch.

It's greed on all fronts. The owners for charging the crazy prices, the players for the insane salaries they get, and the public for being dumb enough to pay it. If people stopped frequenting events and owners couldn't sell seats, maybe a reality check would happen and prices would drop. Noone needs that much money period.

I'm not saying these guys don't deserve to make a decent wage. Yea 25-50 million for 4-5 years, but 260 for 4 years is just silly. We have our priorities wrong. What about the cops who protect us? The doctors who save lives? The teachers? Ridiculous!!!!

Correct. Too much money is spent on entertainment. It's like it will be the last day of our life. Grin
I am curious about how people are getting their money and they can still watch the game even with high prices of seats, food, and drinks. Sometimes you will even see a fully packed homecourt. Are there really that many rich people today?

Anyway, yes, I think the contract they give is too ridiculous. NBA should make a move too because it seems like they are not hurting any team from the luxury tax they provided to limit the number of superstars in one team. Or, are they too happy with the mountain of money coming in that's why they won't do anything? Well, it's business but it just sucks to see a lot of money being wasted for non-essential things like entertainment. I am not against it too but it is being abused.

Maybe the NBA will have to do something about it. Nevertheless, if it is going to be entertainment and money making machine then we can't stop teams from offering players that huge contract.

And NBA salary is just normal if we are going to compare it to other sports like Football for example.

So maybe that's what teams are thinking here, they can still get back that huge money from players if fans are going to watch their game because they have a superstar.

It's business for the NBA and the team themselves, maybe for us it's wrong to see them giving this huge money. But what if business owners in the next 4 years could net double or even triple than that? So it's a good investment for them. And I think it's a big risk but if they are willing to do that, then it's hard to question them as far as expending that big money.

And for fans, we are going to be entertained. And for the city that represents it's going to be huge for them if the player are going to bring back championships after championships.

If the bucks is willing to break the chemistry and wanted to re-arrange their system, then it might work out.

But in terms of individuality, I still pick Jrue over Harden, more on a 2-way role player who can shoot and play good defense is
how I'm gonna describe Jrue, while Harden, more on individual stats though there's a slight change since he's more in a passing
type now, but in terms of defense, that's what he's missing, as per my opinion.

I am hearing that the only team he is actually interested in going to is the Clippers. I don't know if this news is 100% true. I think it can be a good trade for the Bucks to get Harden. Of course, they will let go of Jrue if they do that. But I still think that it might be a good idea. But there are a lot of news going around about Harden. I am just not sure about which news to trust to be honest.

Teams outside of the LA Clippers are reportedly not engaged with the Philadelphia 76ers

Holiday for Harden, that's a bad idea because Holiday plays at both ends of the floor, unlike Harden, who does not play good defense. When the Bucks won a championship, I believe Holiday was one of the big reasons why it happened. So, I don't think it's necessary to break up their lineup just because they had an early exit last playoffs. I believe it's part of the game, and they just have to continue developing their chemistry as they are still considered a championship team.

I'm also expecting to see that as it's no longer impossible after seeing those huge contracts from a young star players, I mean
some of those superstars now might demand for a better deal after the contract expires.

Giving another team to bring on the table a huge offer to try bringing them and signing them for a trade, $100M /year is really huge,
but for the team owner who wants great improvement with his team.

That amount is not by far can be offered as it can be generated back when success in chasing a title takes place.

Maybe a year or more we will see a player making $100 per year and it won't even be surprising anymore.

It's the value that matters because if the $100 million in the next 5 years is equivalent in value to $50 million this year, then that would not change anything. It's only the figure, not the value. Teams may be paying a lot of money, but it's not something that will lead them to bankruptcy. At the end of the day, they are still paid more than they spend.
