Jarrett Allen signed a 3-year, $91 million maximum contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

There is talk that Jerami Grant will go to the Los Angeles Lakers. It could be a good transfer for the Lakers, but I am not sure.
Lakers have been very quiet in the transfer window this year.

Jarrett Allen getting 30 million dollars per year seems a bit crazy to me, but I guess that's a sign of the times.  Still, a below average center that is just there to block shots getting almost 100 million in three years is hard to digest.  Salaries in the NBA are about to get absolutely nuts once they sign their new TV deals and the money flows to the players.  It won't be too much longer before someone is getting a million dollars per game to play in the NBA.

I don't know but I have a feeling that Randle won't be the same again after the multiply injuries that he had suffered already and for me, Brunson now is the new leader of the team and no longer Julius. Not sure how long is Randle's contract with the Knicks, but if everything falls out for him next season, he might be in the discussion for a trade.

The Knicks will likely trade Randle because they've already proven they are still a great team without him. I mean, Randle's contract is huge, and the team could sign more players if they let him go or accept a trade. And yes, it should be Brunson who leads the team as his leadership is very effective. As a point guard, he makes great decisions that get everyone involved. If they were healthy last playoffs, I think they could have given a good series to Boston and might have even won the NBA finals as Dallas didn't turn out to be that strong.

Brunson gave them good spot from their last campaign I also think that he deserve that treatment, not unless there's something left for Randle in terms of leadership, more on how the coach side whether how they'll going to control the ball if who's going to take charge, hopefully they'll manage to work togehter for the betterment of the team.

We will find it out this upcoming season if how NYK will perform and if they'll be able to move forward and be a good contender of the title, still a long way for them to catch up and established that bond playing together.
Provably he will get more better attention than anyone else in the roster. He is there star player and already proven that he could able to bring his team in different level. But also for sure they still have good faith on Randle since he's still a good player. For sure that they look forward for better run especially that he's back on their line up. But in case he can't contribute the way how Knicks wanted to him then I guess all discussions about trading him might came true. But its early to discuss about that since for sure Randle is also hungry to get back on court so provably he provably do all he can just to provide a good contribution for his team. Also yeah we will just find this up in next season if everything will be good in side of Knicks.

Hopefully they can catch and create that good chemistries just like you mentioned Randle after that long vacation might be hungry in playing just need to bind their game together, might be tough if both Randle and Brunson won't surrender that leadership though I guess Brunson can work it out as he already played with young Luka he understand well if how he can continue facilatating the game even Randle is around, hopefully Randle will jive his game and aim for the best outcome for the team and not just to aim for individual stats.

Or the Cavs can't get a good center so why not sign Allen for that biggest contract of his life. And probably it's also a sign that they will be average again this season. Yeah, it's true there are players that are getting ridiculous amount of pay and if you look at the talent pool, there could be players that deserved more.

But looking at some NBA forum, it's looks like Cavs fans are all fired up hearing that Allen will remain with them. There are even saying that Allen should be a Cavs for life as he is doing good with the team.

He's a good piece on Nets and he's major contributor on their roster that's why maybe Cavs think that they have good future if they sign this young man on their team since maybe he can develop him to became more dominant.

But in Cavs, I think he's still a decent center which produce good performance on his team. Maybe the contract seems so high for him but I guess he still deserve it, since for sure they won't offer that if they know Allen is so soft for their team. He's young and provably there are lot to improve in his performance and Cavs see his good worth that's why they decide to retain him then offer good something good that he can't resist.

Practice could do something and provably it will not take long for him to connect with his teammates since he's not new on Knicks. So provably he can work with those things and maybe could able fit good again in their roster. But the only question will remain if he's still could able to produce good performance for his team just like before? Since serious injury could able to change the performance of the player and we see a lot of cases where a star player became an average player in the team when they suffer a career ending like injury. But since his injury is on his shoulders and his legs is fine then I guess he have high chance to recover and became a good player for Knicks again. Knicks will really be though if Randle and Brunson will play together.

Yeah, crazy salaries like that are the current reality of the NBA. It would seem that not so long ago, only the top players in the NBA could expect salaries of $20-25 million, but now the average players get such salaries. Moreover, nowadays, you can just sit on the bench for the whole season and get a couple million dollars and a ring as a bonus (Hi, Thanasis).

Opportunity comes for Kawamura the point guard of team Japan in the Olympics due to his impressive performance against France (Wemby + Gobert).
Japan's diminutive guard, who got the world's attention in the Akatsuki Five's controversial overtime loss to France in the Olympics, is set to sign an Exhibit 10 contract with the Memphis Grizzlies that will give him a shot at making it to the NBA.

His B.League team, Yokohama B-Corsairs, made the announcement early last month but the news didn't gain traction until the 5-foot-8 guard tallied 28 points, seven rebounds, six assists and a steal in the 94-90 loss to host France on Wednesday.

He is very much deserving for this kind of success. Now, he'll have a chance to play in the NBA, hopefully everything will went well and he will stay longer in the league. If he indeed stay longer, there will be 2 Japanese players in the NBA, and it would say that nothing is impossible as even a small guy could play as long as he has the talent.

For me, this contract for Jarrett Allen is reasonable. You won't find someone like Jarrett Allen who can do both defense and offense at that position. This contract is way better than the Brooklyn Nets extending Nic Claxton for 4 years for $100 million. Allen is known for his defense and solid presence under the rim, compared to Claxton who while also good on defense but isn't as strong offensively as Allen. I think Cleveland can still make playoffs this upcoming season compared to Nets that really struggling building their team.

Just another example of ridiculous pay. Claxton’s deal isn’t as good as Allen’s though. Allen is making 20% more per year and with a shorter deal that will allow him to extend for even more money after two years. Claxton’s is a longer deal for a younger player with less money per year, which makes him a good potential trade piece if he improves.

It started to decline because he had an awful injury that took basically 2 seasons from him.  It happened game one with the Celtics after his all star year.  Will never forget that butler team amd theor run to the ncaa finals.  Would have been the most dramatic win ever well behind valvanos win in the 80s.  Midmajor beating the prized duke team with a half court heave at the buzzer.

He felt he wasn't valued anymore. He played with the OKC but was not used. Things really changed after the injury for him; it was huge and affected his role. I see him in a similar situation with Deron Williams, who was also one of the best players for the Jazz before he got injured and traded, and after that, his career started to decline. So those players who have the skills have to be careful, as injury is a hard battle to win. Only a few win against it; to name one, it's PG, who recently secured a huge contract with the 76ers.

Provably that's the reason of his retirement since for past season we can really see how his career decline after he suffer those awful injuries. But I guess its fine for deciding that since somehow he have wonderful career in NBA and provably he already think that's enough since he already achieve his dream and nothing left to take anymore. Injuries really ruin the career and performance of the players that's the reason young players should be more careful so that they won't experience those tragic incident since for sure they might encounter the same issues which may cause them to fall down. I also thought that that is the end of PG's career when he got seriously injured, but he show determination to bounce back and now playing good with his former team then get a good contract with Sixers which is really great for him.

It looks like he might have reached his limit. Considering all the injuries and the years he's dedicated to the game of basketball. Retiring wouldn’t be surprising if he's thinking about stepping away. He's had a long career, but his performance has been inconsistent lately due to those injuries. He's given a lot to the teams he’s played for, but if his body can't handle the demands of high-level competition anymore, it might be time for him to prioritize his health. It's sad that he never even made it to the conference finals all career, despite all his efforts.

Although he didn't won any championship. He's got a wonderful career. I guess that Dwight Howard has got someone to join his club playing overseas in Asian tournaments. I can't wait for him to post some memes again attracting Gordon to play with them or with any opponent teams that they're playing with. This seems to be the new meta nowadays for the retired NBA players, as long as they're willing to play overseas with those shorted league periods, they're up for it if he doesn't have any plans or offers to stay somewhere where he is now.

I really didn't see this coming at all, I thought he's still got a few good years left in him to play for, especially after getting traded to Oklahoma City Thunder before the transfer deadline, I though he'd still play on for 1-2 years more in OKC, but I guess the persistent health and injury might have contributed to him calling it quits this early.

Do anyone have the link to the announcement or full statement from him ?

What could have been in Boston… Kyrie just had to take the opportunity to lob the ball to Hayward over LeBron right after leaving LeBron in Cleveland. Obviously LeBron wasn’t having that and the rest is history. Hayward got traded, Kyrie went to the Nets and the Celtics had their title put off for years. If Hayward would’ve dunked that alley oop over LeBron though, it would’ve been an epic launch to the new look Celtics.

Here is the statement from his official twitter account:

I do agree though, I think he can still play, but most likely the injuries did take a toll on his body already. We were expecting something big when he was in Boston, unfortunately that injury though really hurt his career.

Same with the Hornets, he did play games and average double digits, but then again, he suffered another injury if I'm not mistaken and then traded to OKC and he wasn't the same anymore, perhaps he wasn't given playing time there. But in any case, 14 year career in the NBA is already huge for a player like him and he could have a lot of money already.

34-year-old Gordon Hayward announced his retirement.
Gordon Hayward played for the Jazz, Celtics, Hornets and OKC teams in his 14-year career in the NBA.
I remember he had his best seasons with the Utah Jazz. After the Utah Jazz, his career started to decline.

He was benched by OKC during his stint last season. But we can't blame the coach, they have a lot of young and athletic players and the only thing that Gordon can offer in his experience although as you can see, he become gun shy as well. Not sure if this is due to his body declining through the years of injury or he doesn't have it anymore in him. Sometimes we see players who have been mentally affected by injuries that he had. But as you have said, PG or Klay Thompson or even KD had injuries that take seasons to recover. And they are still playing, so it's more of the psychology of not playing or contributing in a team that could have hurried Gordon's decision to retire after 14 years in NBA.

I was quiet surprised to see Julius Randle's name in my feed, I thought he was traded or something. Then there was his image of him fully jack after not playing for the past 6 months. And then this tweet,

So for the Knicks fans, do you think that Randle deserves this huge contract? And isn't it the Knicks could be over the salary cap in the next coming years as they have Brunson as well being paid handsomely and I think he is now the new leader of the Knicks?

They played so great in the playoffs without Randle, of course it will be good if he was there, but not sure what will be the outcome of that series.
