First Furkan Korkmaz left the NBA and returned to Europe, and now Cedi Osman. Turkish stars can't make it in the NBA for some reason. Except for Alperen Şengün, we have no representative left there. Furkan Korkmaz didn't get much playing time in Philly, his choice is understandable but Cedi's minutes weren't bad. After 6 seasons with the Cavs, he was with the Spurs last year and averaged 17.6 minutes per game. It's an interesting decision for such a player to leave the NBA and return to Europe. His salary will be 5 times less. He went to one of the best teams in Europe to win the Euroleague championship, but I still think it's better to play (even) for the worst team in the NBA. So there are other reasons behind Cedi's decision. Even though I find his decision irrational in every way, I wish him success.
And I have read that Osman being offered by the Lakers, but he turn it down as he is playing in Europe and he could be more comfortable there. He also received interest from the Los Angeles Lakers, which invited him for a training camp; however, due to the lack of guarantees about making it to the season roster, he decided to refuse and come back to Europe.
https://www.eurohoops.net/en/euroleague/1713500/panathinaikos-owner-dimitris-giannakopoulos-announces-deal-with-cedi-osman/Also, another record could be set by Steph Curry next season, reaching 4,000 career 3-point shot, When Steph could become first to reach eye-popping 3-point milestone.Barring injuries, he could reach it in their 53 or 54 games based on his average from last season. If he had accepted that offer from the LA Lakers, his playing time might have been reduced even more. They would only put him in the game when his team is either leading by a lot or getting blown out. To be honest, I don't see Cedi Osman as NBA caliber anymore. It's also good that he didn't sign so that others can be given opportunities, like those who showcased their talent in the Olympics and have now signed with teams. Let's just hope that he plays well in the EuroLeague. Lakers are trying anything right about now. Writing is on the wall. With little to no draft capital available to trade they are stuck with this team. Not sure what the over under is for wins this year but I might take a stab at the under. Good chance it hits either way. Throw in a lebron or an AD injury amd it's pretty much a lock. Parlay that with bronny under 45 total points for the year amd you got yourself a ticket.

Yeah man, they have already been a mediocre team last season and they basically couldn't land anybody this offseason. They got an unexperienced coach, got a rookie in Bronny James that basically takes a roster spot for no reason other than nepotism and even lost valuable role players like Spencer Dinwiddie and Taurean Prince. I don't know what they are thinking right now. Also, I don't think LBJ wants to go out like this. He really values his legacy and I expect he wants to retire on a high note and not while missing the playoffs.

Jamal Murray is definitely an important player, but lets not expect the world from every single player all the time, he could have a bad season too, it wouldn't be end of the world and it wouldn't be the first time a player has a bad season neither.
Haters of him don't see him like that. Anyway, fans will always hate anyone that they like to hate. He has proven himself and the Nuggets took care of him when he was injured and promised to come back once he's healed and he didn't disappoint. Of course with Jokic and him and other role players helped to get the chip. He's just as important as the others and Nuggets are valuing him so he's deserving with the contract that he's given. Team Canada for the Olympics is strong but other teams are also improving and becoming stronger every Olympics and we've got 4 year again for it to come.

Wasn't able to follow the discussion on the Nuggets, but it could be because of this news? --- But before I saw this news and reading the discussions on the Nuggets, I'm also under the impression and we have seen this in the past, that the first one that the heads that will roll if a team went from championship to nothing, it will be the coach.
So I'm not surprised by the news, and if the start of the season the Nuggets didn't perform as expected, coach Malone might get fired, in my opinion.
Things aren't good right now for Denver. That's for sure. Their current GM right now and Coach Malone isn't seeing each other for a long time, and that's because of the recent moves that their GM did. The mindset that their current GM has isn't aligned with Coach Malone. Their coach has a mindset of a win-now while their GM has a mindset of long-term one which for me will not work. They already have the pieces when they won the title. After that, they let Jeff Green go, they let Bruce Brown go, and now KCP that is a 40% 3-pt shooter went to another team. Their GM is relying too much on their bench player like Zeke Nnaji who just recently got a 4-year 32 million contract which for me is just crazy because how in the hell will you give a player that's barely playing a contract that huge. Firing Coach Malone as of this moment will not affect him because there will be other teams that will get him. The Nuggets organization right now is in trouble and this is because of their GM making wrong decisions. For me, he's like Rob Pelinka 2.0. 🖰🖰 Yeah, but at the end of the day, it is still the GM that will make the final decision, and if Malone is not seeing eye to eye, then for sure he might have to lose his job in the future. Possible that other teams will hire him if ever he got fired, we have seen coaches just going around and bouncing on several teams as well. I'm not familiar with their GM though, but as you have describe, he could be compare to Rob Pelinka who after getting a ring with Lebron and AD and coach Voegel, has made a lot of bad and wrong decisions that still up to this day, haunts the Lakers and they haven't reach the finals again. Hopefully, Jokic and Murray could still salvage the team this upcoming season so that it will be a very competitive West conference again and we don't know who will be the number 1 team until the last few games of the regular season.

Always the coach who will take all the blame. This is a drama that will probably happen in the next season where Coach Michael Malone will be targeted if the Denver Nuggets will not play well in the season. Maybe they will fire him midway or maybe after the end of the season especially when the Nuggets will not participate in the playoffs. But I doubt that, they still have a strong core although not a strong bench. Still, if Coach Malone will make it to the Finals again, then he will have the right to talk back to them. Bragging rights. I just wish no injuries will happen to their roster because that will probably be the reason they will get weak especially if it's one of their cores.

Yes, we have seen coaches already being fired or replaced at the middle of the season, or after winning a championship, then in the next year the team didn't do well, they are the first one to blame and not the players or the GM who might bring a lot of changes. KCP is a vital part of their bench or even part of their core, now that he is gone, just like last year, Brown was a great part of their championship run but the next year, they let him out of the team. So let's see if the issues with him and the GM will translate in a bad season for them or make the team great again.

Coach Malone won't get fired since he's the only coach to bring a championship to the team. Struggles are normal, and last season they made it to the Western Conference semifinals before losing to the Timberwolves. If the management fires him just because the team lost in the playoffs, it would show they don’t value the coach much. Look at Steve Kerr. He's had seasons where the team struggled, and there was even a time they missed the playoffs after losing in the play-in tournament. But he stayed because the team values his contribution to their success.

The current Lakers roster doesn't look like it can be competitive in the upcoming season. However, I don't rule out that they can make the playoffs through the play-in tournament if Lebron and AD are healthy most of the season, although making it deep into the playoffs will still be a problem for them.

But he stayed because the team values his contribution to their success. No, it's about him and the Denver front office not seeing eye to eye, and the probably the GM is just looking for one reason to fire him and so everything is on the line this season for coach Malone. Every coach job is on the line even if they bring them championship. Frank Vogel won a NBA championship with the Lakers in 2020. In 2022, he was no longer the coach and was fired. Mike Budenholzer won a ring with the Bucks in 2021, but in 2023 he was out of the job. So management doesn't value coaches in my opinion, it's what they can bring, and if they can't win a ring then they will be fired including Malone here. Steve Kerr is different, he built a dynasty with the Dubs, winning 4 championships.

Jamal's comeback is like the case of Klay Thompson, he was out a season and then both of them have a spectacular season after that winning the champion. And then they had difficulty defending the championship. And I guess it shows how difficult it is to defend though, much more three peat and then established dynasties. So they really have to focus again if they want to get that ring back. But we have the Celtics, who I think is the favorite to win back to back because of how strong they are last season. But let's see, as I have said, defending that championship is hard, many teams are goin to make it difficult for the Celtics, including former champion Denver Nuggets with Jokic and Murray at the helm.
It’s very hard to depend their title since Nuggets toss a lot of key players especially bench players that give huge contributions during their championship run. KCP and Porter Jr is not that productive either while their bench is weak as fuck. They even make Braun a starter which is just a bench before. Nuggets didn’t even bother to maintain their roster for this year after their Championship run because they become cocky that Jokic and Jamal alone can carry the tram which didn’t happened. Nugget should focus on building again their 2nd unit team since Porter Jr play is always on and off same with KCP. I think that’s why they brought in Westbrook. He’s going to mentor the younger guys and help build up the second unit. I disagree about Porter Jr. I think he’s a major reason why they are as good as they are and he’s fought off horrific injuries that would have ended most people’s careers. He is a bargain and would be a superstar if he was never injured. We will see then what Westbrook can bring in the table, he signed a 2 year contract so maybe in the beginning we might not see the impact, but for sure he would be a great mentor to the younger guys as you have said. KCP is no longer with the team though, he is moving to Orlando Magic, so that is one piece of their back court that is gone. I do agree with Michael Porter Jr, I think he is still a work in progress, if not for his back injuries that have been nagging him, and that cost his game to be inconsistent, he could be the 3rd guy for them. Perhaps after winning, it's really hard to maintain that focus and defend it. We have seen going to that phases as they don't have the competitiveness inside of them.

He needs to jive his game with those young stars and role players as he signed 2-year deal expecting him to bring something if he will be coming from the bench or maybe he might be include with the core playing alongside with Jokic,Jamal,Porter Jr and Gordon let see if how coach Malone will use him, with Jokic he's offensive mentality might work just rotate and find his space surely Jokic will pass the ball to him. I do agree with Michael Porter Jr, I think he is still a work in progress, if not for his back injuries that have been nagging him, and that cost his game to be inconsistent, he could be the 3rd guy for them. Hoping to see him again with that good shooting strokes, with healthy Porter Jr, that additional threats outside will give them more options as Jokic and Jamal always got that advantage with their offense taking double will lead an open spot either with Porter and Gordon which mostly how they execute thier offensive attacks.

So I'm not surprised by the news, and if the start of the season the Nuggets didn't perform as expected, coach Malone might get fired, in my opinion.
No, it's about him and the Denver front office not seeing eye to eye, and the probably the GM is just looking for one reason to fire him and so everything is on the line this season for coach Malone. Every coach job is on the line even if they bring them championship. I agree with you and I also believe that Coach Malone deserves to stay longer with the team. He didn't tank last season, and reaching the semifinals is still a success. Unless the Nuggets are solely focused on getting a back-to-back championship while ignoring how other teams are improving, they should see that progress is still being made. Other teams are constantly getting better, so making it that far shows the Nuggets are still competitive.
If I remember correctly, the times when Coach Budenholzer and Coach Vogel were fired, it was because their teams were already struggling in the regular season. It’s been a while, but from what I recall, their teams had sudden struggles. Compared to the Nuggets, they didn’t really struggle. If you look at last season, the Nuggets were number 2 or tied for number 1 with OKC. Their record was 57-25, and the Wolves, who beat them, were 3rd with a 56-26 record. So, it’s not surprising that they lost since the Wolves are a strong team. I don’t know, but I think Westbrook could be the x-factor next season, whether it’s in winning another championship or at least making it to the NBA Finals again. If that happens, Coach Malone should be safe.

What they can look forward with Westbrook is he not a injury prone type of player and he played a lot of games with Clippers. Imagine he played more with their main star and in that case they get what they paid for Westbrook. Now Nuggets have him I think they can facilitate him well and bring back his confidence. If that happen then Nuggets would provably enjoy what Weskbrook could bring in their table. For now the only thing we can see is people criticizing him for his past team transfer and questionable performance. But if Nuggets could able to manage him well, he provably became a good piece for Nuggets to win a championship this season.

He may not be injury-prone, but he's inconsistent. That's the reason why he's been moving from team to team after being a superstar with OKC. If you look at his production, it's really going down, he averaged only 11 PPG last season with the Clippers. Well, that's understandable since his minutes were limited, but from being a triple-double machine, this is where he's at now. A big problem I see with Westbrook is his poor 3-point shooting, he only shot 27% last season. Sometimes, defenders just let him take the shot, and that can really hurt his confidence, especially when they leave you wide open and you still can't make the shot.

To not quote a long psot im gonna writte here without quoting.
Coach Malone is not gonna be out of Denver Nuggets, when Denver doesnt win anything they dont put him in doubt so now with a ring in his finger is less and less probable to see him going out of the team, plus seems like Denver took the San Antonio Spurs model with coach Pop and give them a full support like Spurs do with Popovich.
I dont like Malone so much if you ask me, but he is stilla good coach and in the other hand, who can replace him with sure confidence?

I read that Al Horford has finally decided to call it quits. I thought he said after the season he wanted to run it back, but it seems old age may have gotten the best of him as it seems his mind has been made up and he’s retiring an NBA champion. Can’t hate the man for going out on top. I wonder what this says about the Celtics…

Are you sure abut that? I didn't hear anything about it and just checked google and couldn't find anything. But yeah, despite him saying he wants to run it back it would also make sense to call it quits now, couldn't have a better timing. He still looks good on the field but after all he is already 38 years old. Going out on top is always a great decision. If you don't need the money and have finally fulfilled the one goal in the league, getting a ring, it's no shame to retire and spend time with the family. Fun fact, he is married to 2003 Miss Universe. Not a bad woman to hang out with more from now on.

I will remember Cedi Osman as the one who spit his mouthpiece while taking that free throw back when he's with the Cavaliers. After that, he said to the mouthpiece "Yo, why you flying out of my mouth." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8s4YmC70WYwAnyway, I agree with what you said that he isn't a NBA caliber anymore and he might be a role player, but he doesn't have any performance that I consider as impactful back when he's in Cleveland and in San Antonio. It's good that he has given another opportunity outside the NBA. Who knows? He might be more efficient there and with his NBA experience, that would be helpful to the team where he's playing with. Yeah, but at the end of the day, it is still the GM that will make the final decision, and if Malone is not seeing eye to eye, then for sure he might have to lose his job in the future. I don't think that Coach Malone bothers if he's getting fired or not. After all, their GM did all these bad decisions enough for his will to get another title with Denver dissipate. Their GM isn't that popular TBH, and I will not know him as well if only I didn't watch any NBA-related videos on YouTube. I agree with what you said that Jokic, Murray alongside Gordon and Porter Jr. are good players no doubt, but outside of them. Who are the good role players that can help them? They are good, but they can't afford to play 40+ minutes per game. They need the help of their role players and as of their current roster, there aren't good role player with the team. Not even Westbrook is what I consider as good with his current state of his career. You said already that the West is very competitive, and the Nuggets won the title 2 years ago because of their depth. As for who will be the number 1 during the regular season with the West, I will not be surprised if it will be the Thunder again because they just acquired Caruso which is a good defender, and Hartenstein which is a good back-up center alongside young and talented players. The Nuggets? With their current roster, I predict they will be at the bottom 4 unless they will get good role players mid-season.

There are too many players that got worse over time and their playing style doesn't fit the aging issue, Westbrook could be one of them. Denever is a great team but they are not a dominant team and I think it's clear that we are not going to see them have something that could change so much. We should consider the situation to be a little bit different and we could be considering the situation very sensitive for Denver because if they can use their cards right and win one or two more rings that would be awesome for them, if not they are going to end up god knows how long until they can get another ring again in the future. They have what it takes to win one right now, with additions and all ,they can make that work, it's possible, but that would be something they have to do now, right away.
